    This song is all about the bass, while Kanami is also doing a lot it's the only song I can think of where she doesn't have a solo. This is Misa's song to shine.
    The song isn't anti-God or religion, it's more about how you shouldn't rely on just God to make your dreams come true, you need to get out there and make it happen. Most Band-Maid songs have a positive message.

    • @greylocke100
      @greylocke100 Před rokem +5

      On the meaning of the song yes, it is about how don't rely on God to help you, as he helps those who help themselves, so get out and get it done. Lift yourself up, and don't rely on others.

      There are also a few live acoustics out there, but you'll have to search a bit for them. Saiki & Kanami's Puzzle/Anemone deut from Zepp Tokyo or Studio Cost (can't remember which) is pretty stunning.

      @@bandmaidfanATL I've got most from the DVD's as they came as extras with the DVD's and albums. Yes, that version of Puzzle and Anemone are on BB, the Chinese site. I'm actually translating lyrics for the Anemone performance from the 2018 Zepp Tokyo concert at the moment - which will be joining my other 6 videos of theirs that I've translated and subtitled in English on my FB site BAND-MAID SUBTITLED MV'S.

    I think Miku and Saiki cracked up because Miku had wandered out front and had to rush back to her mic for the LuLuLuLu (which is funny in itself) and just made it. Miku does this often , she likes to get free of the mic and rock out but then has to rush back for her vocals, 99% of the time she makes it. In one of the recent US shows during Sayonakidori (Miku sings lead) she went out front for her rhythm solo and got just a little bit carried away and didn't make it back in time so her next vocal line was sung while she was still rushing back to the mic. Talking of Sayonakidori, it's one of the official acoustic songs that's on their channel and it's also Band Maid as a 3 piece.

    Usually Miku writes lyrics based on how the demo makes her feel or she asks for suggestions from the others. This is one of the few songs that Kanami wrote and suggested to Miku "It's about the joy of making music," maybe in contrast to the stress she experienced during Covid.
    They cut the epic introduction ... everybody (except Akane) takes a turn at the front of the stage. Look for fan cams from their U.S. tour.

      MISA played a Fender J-bass through Ampeg when she was in her high school/college band "Prototype" and during the first few years of Band-Maid. After that she started using five-string basses through Orange until they started touring after Covid last year, when she started using Aguilar.

    I'm incapable of paying attention to the lyrics until about the 10th listen so kudos attempting to do it on 1st listen.
    Normally they end with a burn out instead of a fade out but the song right after this started with a special acapella intro so they probably felt a fade out was more appropriate and led into the acapella intro more smoothly. At least that is my assumption.

    Two things about this song as done at the actual concert and on the Blu-ray/DVD of the concert. It starts with a 2 minute instrumental intro and the reason it ends so softly is to lead into the next and final song, Choose Me, where Saiki does an A cappella first verse intro. They are truly amazing, especially live. I highly recommend getting the video of the concert.

    Who said you couldn't fit an entire prog song into 4 1/2 minutes? 😁 I really like Miku's guitar in the verses. As you said, it feels "late." It has this great discordant feel to it. It's not the melody you're hearing, it's the exclamation point of the melody, if that makes sense. This song is even way better in person because this video mixed out the crowd. In person, the crowd is singing the main hook as well the Lululus with Miku. It's a trip.
