@@Bimpz. It was scarfed I think. Rage played extremely smart on that play and people don't even realize it. He had 2 water types and another Pokémon weak to ice and played X into the ice beam. While switching to the water type.

I will say, zoroark being level 90 is technically really lucky for YRG since zoroark in random battles doesnt have a set level (since if it did it might give itself away to top level players) so it couldve been a level 70 zoroark if it copied a “stronger” pokemon like palkia or giratina. but hes still ass regardless OMEGALUL
Yeah plus that Pokémon isn’t even in the main games you would only see that on showdown it’s really op typing
zoroark (like every other Pokémon in random battles) has a predetermined move set/multiple predetermined move sets. random battles aren’t completely random, the only actual random thing is what Pokémon you get on your team. after seeing a camerupt use hyper voice x should’ve known it was a zoro but his lack of game knowledge left him ignorant.
@@remytheratty yes, i knew immediately it was hisuian zoroark, i play rand bats lol ive gotten top 100 in gen 8. But even knowing how rand bats work in its entirety wouldn’t stop the Zoroark from becoming “overpowered” due to the higher than normal level for its BST and general tiering. I dont think anyone’s denying that xqc is an absolute Pepega when it comes to knowing type matchups/rand bat movesets/ stats, i mean he doesn’t even know you can hover over you and your opponent’s pokemon to see their speed tier. but i do think that if he got the Hikaru Chess treatment and had someone like blunder, temp6t, pokeaimmd etc to train him for a day or two he wouldn’t be complete ass and might actually win against YRG. Would make for some interesting content 👍

takes me back to the netbattle days, 3rd gen pokemon pvp was the best, the only flaws were the atk/special split was type based and lack of items like yache berry to balance boltbeam coverage. this kind of made me want to get back into it but im a 30 year old zoomer i dont want to learn all the new stuff and i've heard 2v2 is the format now because 1v1 is a stallfest worse than skarmbliss ever was.

Singles is playable but VGC is the standard competitive format. If you don't mald it can be pretty fun. If you're good at team building you can make the weirdest nonsense into a viable strategy. Thing is you can still do that in VGC, and you can even use some whack moves intended for double battles. It's less fun for me because I like the more casual aspect and the switch mindgames. Protect/Ally Switch is a little less satisfying imo, but it is more balanced.
I played singles like 4 years ago with fairy type and mega evolutions and it was not a stall fest at least in my elo def overexaggerated but i only made it to like 1400 in ou singles on showdown. I think stall only starts becoming common super high Elo because no one actually likes playing stall.
@@lucianoariasduval i want to go in with a gen 3 mentality and see how it will play out in VGC. Then again Jolteon sub/baton pass may not be viable anymore due to choice scarf and and im sure there are many newmons with 131+ speed
@@rotraven If you go into gen 9 low ladder you're probably going to get swept by tatsugiri-dondozo lead. I find the best way to get into newer gens is watching games and learning about the common strats. The Liverpool Regionals is starting soon enough (January 21-22), maybe try to catch a few of those games. Cheers.
Edit: I do encourage you to take a blind leap and try to build some sort of strat to get a feel for the format, though.
