EXTREME Mower Testing!! SCAG Vs EXMARK ► Scag Turf Tiger 2 Vs Exmark Lazer Z X-Series ► Who Will Win

- Today we put the Exmark Lazer Z X-Series and the SCAG Turf Tiger 2 through some extreme mower testing! After getting our hands on the Turf Tiger 2, and using it for a few days, I knew we had to do a side by side comparison for you guys.
I was pleasantly surprised with the TT2 Demo over the last few days. Rich dropped it off to me with 11 hours, and it currently sits at 26 hours on the unit. That Velocity Cut deck got to go head to head with the Ultra Cut Series 6, to see who came out on top.
This was just a fun video me and the guys did after hours to just show you guys the extreme mowing conditions we need to put these units through, from time to time. I know this isn't regularly weekly growth, no doubt about it. But it does prove the point that even on one pass, one mower did stack up a little better than the other. We'll let you decide, who came out on top.
What mower do you guys feel cut better in the tests? Which unit would you demo or maybe even buy in the future? Let me know, leave me a comment down below!

I bought the turf tiger II with the 35 Vanguard engine. I absolutely love this mower. Worth every penny. Excellent cut awesome stripping. Before this I had a Cub Cadet 2182 super garden tractor which also does an amazing job with the cut and stripes. I was between the exmark lasar z and the scag turf tiger II, but for me the cut and stripes were high on my list.
Exmark was going faster then the scag. As a exmark everyday user I know if you go 1/4 speed(which the scag did) it will mower smoother. Sorry to burst anyone's bubble.
Exactly
Totally agree 💯
That exmark got smoked by the scag. They weren't going 1/4 the speed. Can't take the L my dude.
Scag was definitely going slower than the Mark just saying!! If you didn't notice, your about as slow as the driver was operating it
scag was going slower and rpm's seemed to be higher as well. Makes a HUGE difference in blade speed
Agree with comments below. Started with the Skag blowing it's cut grass onto the eXmark path which made it look worse, but even when that was changed, Brian continued to cut at a faster pace than did the Skag. Even up the deck size, motor hp and the age and then lets try it again. 1000 hours, vs. 20. I mean, C'mon......
Test at same speed. The Scag was cutting at a slower speed.
I use a 60in and a 72in xmark. I like how at the end you gave what should be re-evaluated by the developer. This video was helpful cause we are currently looking to add a mower. Our xmark 72 has about 1200 hours on it we cut 60 70 acres a week we've had nothing but trouble with it stuck thousands of dollars into it
Just a tip: next time you do a comparison test like this, cut with one going in one direction then let the other make the second pass in the opposite direction. That way there’s no blow-over and there’s no strip of high grass in between maybe? Just a suggestion. I enjoyed the video!
I have had a Scag Tiger Cub for about 7 years. I just broke 200 hours. I use it on my personal home for years and 2 rental properties. I love everything about it. Stable and cuts great.
The scag blade stayed cleaner cuz it was blowing onto cut grass the whole way. That seems like a fishy test setup to me. The exmark was discharging against tall grass which in my experience will clog a blade up faster.
A Plunk hahcbcbdbcn(ndnmdmfn;n:jjdjfjndjdjdjfhfjhfjfjdjdhd&$ owckbwcek
X actly
Seemed the Scag driver was going slower too...
Na u all just salty
But the Scag still cut great.
I've ran that Exmark for years when I was working commercial mowing. The great thing is how easy they are to fix on the fly. You really wanna get down in the heavy grass mount up on a Dixie Chopper! Scag is tough though, looks cool as hell too!!
I just became a Scag guy this week and bought a Scag Patriot. I Switched from Tractors with 54 inch decks to Zero turn as well as from Husqvarna to Scag. I have destroyed 3 54 inch decks in 9 years and believe the Scag will last over 10 years, it cuts fantastic and I do cut grass like you did in the test from time to time. I cut 3 acres 2 times a week on my 13 acre property near Shelbyville, Illinois. I think all the Scags are super well built machines.
I sold them here in Australia for 2yrs.
They are a quality machine and very well built !!. I sold cheetahs and turf tigers to contractors on a number of occasions that had other brands of Zero turns. They did a test drive and fell in love with them. Personally there a favorite of mine also.
SCAG quality gear for quality results.
But each to there own ofcourse everyone has there own taste.
Scag makes a solid mower, I bought one of the first model v rides back in 2012 or so. It has since been retired from my business many years ago at 2200 hours but my dad still mows with it on his 3 acres in FL every week. It always had very irregular maintenance, 100 degree days and was beat on but never let me down. Not sure how many hours it has now but I would buy another. I run a Ferris srs z2 28 efi currently and that’s a great machine as well. The oil guard system is awesome to have.
I would say the scag will leave a better cut on the first pass. Mainly because everything on the scag new, fresh, and built more heavy or industrial. However if the exmarks were new it may have been a different outcome. Either way thanks for the comparison!
I have been cutting grass full-time year-round in South Florida for over 20 years and I have cut just about every type of grass you can think of mostly Saint Augustine, centipede, emerald zoysia and Bermuda and I am an Exmark man myself and I always have been, and if you want a true comparison the mowers need to have the same size engine and the same size cutting deck, and the mowers need to have new blades hi lift or mulching but they need to be new blades and the same brand for it to be a good comparison in my opinion. There’s no way to have a fair comparison of these mowers with the set up that you guys are representing there’s just no way and if you think about it logically I think you would agree that most people that have been doing this as long as I have and yourselves as well would know that, I’m not trying to put you guys down but if you’re going to be fair and have a true comparison that’s the only way to have a good- fair outcome going head to head. And another little footnote to add I noticed that the Exmark mower was running a bit faster during the cutting and the Scagg was going much slower which also has a major affect in the quality of the cutting ability of your mowers, I just wanted to add that important information into the mix😂🤣 😁👍✌️😳
also the same exact speed when cutting.... going just merely 1mph slower in these conditions makes a huge difference
a side by side a few feet away to keep the speed the same!
just curious where in south florida are you? im in Boca Raton, and i really miss mowing. Moved down here a year and a half ago....wish i did it sooner! I live in a HOA and i get really angry when they rush cut my yard with a mult kit on! im might have to stand out there and encourage them to double cut mine special everytime :) :D
How would a ZD 1211 compare?
I bought a new Scagg Turf Tiger in 2001. In 2020 my husband bought me a new one for my 70th birthday. Our grandson is still mowing with the 2001! Excellent quality. It still starts and runs just fine. The main belt was still original!
Great product!
I have been super impressed with my tiger cat. I’m not mowing that tall of grass, but I can mow full tilt when it’s tall for residential mowing and it still looks good. Mine is a 2012 with a kaw
Have used both. Exmark first then Scag. Currently own Scag. For the best stripes on weekly mowed lawns I go with Scag. For durability I give a slight nod to Exmark.
I'm a John Deere Guy when it comes to ride on mowers. Toro for Push Mowers. BUT that Scag cut it so smooth amazing! Demo a Walker vs a Toro
We run 2 turf tiger 2's 61 inch, a scag 52 inch walk behind, we also have a v ride & a 7 year old scag turf tiger. On the tigers hours are 700, 1250, & 2250. The v has 1750 & the walk behind has about 500 hours on it. We've demoed all kinds of mowers & nothing strips a well as a scag! I agree there are definitely some things that they could improve on the design of the mowers but between how well they run, the customer service, how easy they are to maintain, & how good a yard looks when we finish I'm a scag girl all the way! I run the walk behind everyday & out of all the different brands scag made the hand controls so close together, I absolutely love that. Because after 12 hours of mowing my hands don't hurt from the hand controls being spaced out so far. I know that isn't a problem for men but being a woman who loves to cut grass it's a huge deal to me!! Thank you for your videos, I enjoy learning so I can do better at my job!!
You are super good on the camera man! Very entertaining and informational! Thanks to you and your crews for making these! It helps take the scariness out of spending close to 10 grand on a mower! That includes a trailer.
the scag is definitely going to be better at this sort of stuff, however, I agree with many comments that the scag was going much slower ad that it blew all the grass clippings on the exmark's pass which made it seem as though the exmark did a poor job when in reality it did pretty well
Yea that was a bunch of BS!! Compare exmarks cut after skag blowed its clippings on it 🙄🙄
I personally use a scag everyday and I mow threw some wicked stuff and it's probably one of the best cutting reliable mowers I've ever used.
I love my John Deer A830Z 12years old, and still running strong. Great video, Thanks!
Great video - just bought this mower. The brake handle is a bad design, fuel Guatemalan could be moved, but the deck spindle cover is fine, especially when you add the bagger unit. Needs compartments, but this is a fantastic mower!
Scag was blowing everything on your mowed spot and a plus exmark was running to way fast and scag wasn't
That's you reasoning lmao
It's called QUALITY sorry scag shit on your exmark
You are right 00 what a thumb guys 😅
First I own neither brand mower. I too noticed that in the first pass, the Scag was blowing its clippings on top of what the EX-Mark cut. The first pass told me nothing.
On the second pass, I noticed that the operator of the Scag was going A LOT slower than the driver of the EX-Mark. Cutting tall grass, the quality of the cut has to do with blade sharpness and *dwell* time. The slower you go, the better the cut.
If you really want to have a fair comparison, or FAIRER comparison, have the same driver use both mowers. Or have them trade off. Just my .02.
zero zero very true. The Exmark was Full Speed and the Scag was Not! Not a good way to test in my opinion. I’m still and Exmark Guy!
The exmark has an electronic throttle (redtech) so the factory sets their threshold for mowing.
One of the nicest things on the turf tiger is you don't bust spindles you twist or break spindle bolts 10$ blade 8$ spacer 10$ 30$ x3 90$ you had to have ran over a basket ball size rock 4-5 times to do that much damage and you could fix it in field as easily as swapping three blades. My turf tiger out cut my dr brush mower!
I use an xmark e series 60, as long as my blades are fresh I lay some nice stripes in foot tall grass on the first pass.
My TORO with My Ride 42inch with the 22HP Kohler had incredible power, took down 3 foot field engine never slowed down or strained once!!! Got to love TORO!!!
I appreciate the comparison tests. I likewise am leaning towards the Scaq on my next purchase. I am curious to see the Gravely on the upcoming videos, though their dealership here locally isn't quite as close as the Scag dealer.
Next time go the same speed. Rush thru and it doesn’t cut at same rate when going slower. Not a fare test.
Outstanding video friend. Thanks a lot. SC Navy vet.
Just bought a 60 in zero turn Exmark Radius mower. So far, Im impressed with how fast it cuts and love the seat which keeps me from bouncing on rough ground..
The exmark had a clean cut but the discharge chute of the scag sprayed grass clippings on the side where exmark mowed
Great showdown Brian, I have a Scag Tigercat and mow one yard every week almost as high as this one. It’s wet and very heavy. Home owners are very impressed with the way my Scag makes their yard look they have a husqvarna mower which won’t even come close to cutting it not mentioning that it’s wet besides
My mower has 682 hours on it now
The Scag Tiger is a beast! It holds hills like nothing I mowed with one for a year great mower
Been running SCAG Turf Tigers with 72" decks for over 14 years. and mow over 10 acres weekly with it and I love them. Easy to work on and maintain. I own 2 of them.
Hey man loved watching the vid and glad it wasn’t one sided. The work speaks for itself👍🏻👍🏻
I run a scag turf tiger 72" with the 35 Kholer, its unstoppable. No bogg or hickup no matter what conditions.
Is the Kohler engine just as good as Kawasaki and Honda?
Scag is hands down the better mower. My scag dealer has been nothing but helpful and dependable for the last 6 yrs I’ve dealt with them. I’m in Ky though. Big difference from Detroit I guess since it’s a small town dealer
I am a 22 year old man child, that is about to start up my own lawn care and maintenance. I appreciate all your videos
Wish you the best
Come on man y’all got to go same speed to really test them and move over a bit so no one blows grass on the others path
It appeared they were going similar speeds - the Scagg waited to start. But excellent point about the Scagg blowing grass on the other mower's path. Not fair, gives Scagg a huge bias advantage. Still, 2nd run they blew grass away from each other's path, and Scagg cut still looks considerably better.
We run Scag Turf Tiger 2. Great machines! We have 3 of them Our oldest has almost 1900 hours on it. Deck is still good. baffles are worn but still cuts great. Engine is strong. Seat sucks over time. Fuel gauge placement is a pain in the but. Brake lever is sorry after some hours put on the machine. I wish they would change the peg for the deck lift to a pedal so it's easier on your foot. But overall we're really satisfied with the performance and durability of the machine.
Love scag I used it on the company I work for..Great Beast
Nice comparison man that really is a fair difference between them. I myself am also looking for a new zturn by the time our spring kicks off in September/October if only dealers and reps over here in Australia were as willing to give people demos.... We are lucky to take a mower out into a field behind the dealership or if even more lucky ONE of our own jobs let alone have a mower for a whole week or more! I would have a look at the Hustler Super Z Hyperdrive if you want a super fast, super powerful mower too.
I have a 52 in scag liberty. Smooth as butter baby. Good cutting mower.
Got 866 hours on a regular riding hydrostatic mower. It's got a few flaws but for 20 yrs old it's great!
I definitely agree with you guys on the battery cover. I own the same mower you tested and I was not happy that I couldn't easily jump something off of the battery. I'd also like lights to be standard on the TT2. I saw many manufacturers at GIE that had lights built into the deisgn.
The SGAG was blowing his trimmings on your fresh cut!!
I have a Gravely and love it. My friend has a scag Tiger. It is great. Your exmark I have never tried.
our company uses scag, and id have to say im with you on the changes. especially the brake that never works. try and load it onto a trailer on a hill and it just rolls. why even have a brake if its not going to work. cut quality is great and so is the power. but alot of people will for go the power for the little things. like compartments etc.
Your ex mark was going 2x the rate of speed. Of course its going to be choppy as hell. What the heck.
Also noticed that the first few passes that make the Scag seem that much better had the X-Series leading the first cut and then the TT2 shooting into a clean lane. Took all the load off the Scag since it didn’t have to overcome shooting into 2 foot tall grass and getting caught in the deck that I guarantee the Exmark was dealing with the first few passes. On top of what you already mentioned of going faster, made it look a ton worse.
Yes it was
I noticed too
That's right
This was a review just so you could get a free Scag mower the exmark was moving half again as fast and doing almost as good a job never bogged down where the Scag did also the Scag was throwing its clippings into the exmark's path of cut making it look worse if you're going to do a comparison do it correctly same speed new cuts this will be the last of your videos I watch this was one-sided just to try to sell Scag lawn mowers. Exmark lower horsepower better lawn mower by far in this video proved it
Have the Scag lead and have the Exmark run and blow on the Scag space to see if the quality reverses. Also, pretty sure the belt tension is lower on the ExMark
I just bought a scag tiger cat 2 and I love it.
I recently opened a lawn care company with my dad, and the problem we are finding with most residents is that the gates to the back yards are very small. To avoid having to push mow an entire back yard do you have a narrow riding mower you would recommend, preferably a zero turn mower and preferably commercial grade.
M Standard I have done some research on the hustlers, and although I have never owned one they seem to be a very well built machine. However weather we are talking walk behind or stand on by hustler, the smallest they offer is a 36 inch cut which i would guess is about 38 inches wide. Many of these homes have small gates 36 inch and some even smaller 34-36 inch gates have seemed to be the most common size range. So a 36 inch cutting deck would not fit through a 36 inch gate as the deck would be slightly larger. That is where a 30 or 32 inch riding mower would be perfect, but who makes it? I know Wright makes a 32 inch stand on mower but it is a fixed height, which in my opinion is absolutely useless! Going from one clients yard to the next I absolutely need the ability to adjust my cutting height without getting out a too kit and un bolting wheels.
the cut looked better because that guy was cutting alot slower on the TT2
Absolutely right. Speed makes all the difference.
@@lifesavid my 14 yr old TT owners book cautioned to mow slower to obtain best cut specially in deep grass...
rahangman that’s exactly right. This is particularly true if you have a mulching kit attached.
Agreed
Im gonna go with the Scag i think the overall design of their machines is hard to beat
Scag, hands down. I would love to see how a Gravely of similar size and power would rate. I used to have one and it was a beast. would cut grass higher than the top of my head like nothing.
We always used a scag to cut our fields in Dundee across the highway from cabela's. I love an exmark especially when you look at the price difference but I can't argue with a scag. When it comes down to it you could buy 2 exmarks or 1 scag I'm always gonna pick an exmark at that point.
you cant beat a turf tiger, especially the old ones with liquid cooled kawaski. the guy I've mowed with for years bought one in 2010 and it's still going in 2021 with nearly 8,000 hours. good maintenance goes a long way. no engine work ever done to it besides typical belts, a fuel pump, and some deck work ... you also have to know what you're doing too. every scag we've ever used went beyond 5000 hrs, even the old air cooled tiger Cubs and we weren't just cutting thin little shit neither. these mowers are legit. just a side note: John Deere's commercial mowers are the biggest pieces of shit that ever existed
John Deere over rated junk!!
(9:50) lol. That's a "normal" port Saint Lucie "North" yard in July...
🤠
I cut with a 72” ferris with a vanguard 37, I’ve never heard it look down and we cut some 66 or 7 inch grass in some areas add the riding the comfort me at 72 I love it with those suspensions On each wheel
Hey guys. Thank you for doing videos like this. That are very informative. I have to say, I don’t own a zero turn but I am in the market. I’ve only ran one zero turn and it was a residential hustler. I fell in love with it. My mower, when I get it, will be for residential use on about 3 acres. I had my heart set on a bad boy Maverick HD. After having sat on one at the dealer, I really didn’t like it. So now I’m looking at an Exmark Radius E or S series. There’s a Scag dealer about 25 miles away, so I want to go check those out. But I’m thinking I like the Exmark for comfort. The steering handles on the Exmark felt way better than the Bad boy too. But I’m doing my due diligence. Thanks again.
I've been out of commercial maintenance for years now but that scag looks almost identical to the models of 20 years ago. I've never been overly impressed with their equipment. Using Exmark mower's was always the go to machines, still have a 48 lazer hp with 21hp Kawasaki 1998 model with over 2000 hours. At one time I had 35 exmarks in the fleet.
I just bought the turf tiger 2 and I love it! The Rolls-Royce of zero turn mowers.
Yeah I’m over here doing lawn that high with my mustang Troy built 42 inch can’t wait to upgrade to some bad boys
Comments on the scag for needed improvements at end of video are true. All have happened to me, hopefully scag will go back to drawing board on these issues. I have 3 scags tt and I feel they are best but need to discharge better. Normal grass it leaves the best overall cut.
I would like to try something like this with my Pro-Turn 460 with the Yamaha MX825V 33hp EFI engine..It's definitely a BEAST..js.
Thank you Brian. Can’t wit to see the gravely review
So I tried out several mowers and narrowed it down to the Kubota Zd1511 and a Scag Turf Tiger 2 37efi. Both cut great, I mow up hill quite a bit and neither mowers bogged down while others did. The Scag stripes better, the Kubota handles better on slopes due to weight mostly but it still maneuvers better on flat ground as well the Kubota was also slightly more comfortable. I was completely surprised by the fuel consumption there was no clear winner there both out performed my expectations. As far as the cut in taller grass the Kubota probably edges out the Scag but as far as normal cutting and cleaner finish the Scag wins for me with less clippings and the striping. I went with the Scag because of the price it was 6500 less and there wasn't enough to justify spending more, and I own a Kubota tractor Grand L4060. Both models are phenomenal mowers and you cant go wrong with either one. I mow 8 acres of grass in KY and about every terrain imaginable but none of it is extreme.
I have been running xmark mowers for many years but i like scag better on this cutting demo..well l'm agree whit u about deslikes on scag....i following u...gracias amigos ...
10:06 “you’re on scag?” 😂 you can see Brian wanted to drive the scag
scag going to win
Test the front mount Grasshopper, The front mount Woods and the Ventrac
Exmark , thanks for the review
And the floating deck. Its amazing
Expected this. Scag and Ferris are the best cut qualitys out!
Agreed
I really Enjoyed watching the video. The scag cut better, but was going slower than the Exmark. Test a Ferris and simplicity mowers please. Both make great zero turns.
Ferris next week!
Brian's Lawn Maintenance Can't Wait!
Test a simplicity!?? Hah okay
Someone officially has ZERO credibility.
Scag. Exmark. SIMPLICITY?! Come on dude. Get real..
Spenny Have you actually tried one? Very nice commercial and Residential Zero turn mowers.
Hey Brian after reading comments i have to agree with people, X was flying and S was going very slow, if you could go slow as S results could be the exact same. im X guy and nothing can change that. Hey thanks for the video i liked it
I have never been on a SCAG, I would be interested in trying one.. Exmark Lazer is pretty good as you know.
One of these days Im going to have to try a SCAG... Thanks
That's actually a good Idea..Put the NEW YAMAHA MX825V 33 HP EFI to the test!!! Gravely or Bad Boy!!!..The same engine on different brands..comparable mowers ofcourse..would be an interesting test..js.
It's hard to beat a Scag! And the Vanguard is a tough enough when they are running correctly!
We run Lazer Z's in the spring and fall only for cleanups, and we sell them and buy new ones every 2000 hours. The rest of the year from May till October we run solely exmark turf tracers with stand on velkies. They fit in almost any spot way easier, and also can mow pretty much any single slope in any direction with near perfect traction. On every mower we run, we do maintenance weekly, and do full oil and fluid changes every 100 hours since each machine mows close to 150 lawns weekly. We stand by exmark solely, and that's because they are far more reliable than any other mower brand in our experience. Far less parts failing, far less issues in general, and also because they've been in the game so long and actually listen to their customers and plan each feature out intently and intuitively. I wouldn't buy any other brand. Our machines could go strong for years past 2000 hours and are just as good at performing at 2000 as they were brand new. Only reason we replace them every 2000 hours is to get the newer features and to start fresh every couple years and to also get the most resale value out of them especially being used as much as ours are.
Hey guys great video just wanted to say somethings. I have owned john Deere ,Husqavarna, and exmark zero turns. They all seem to miss grass compared to a scag i borrowed from a friend. I cut 30 acres with the scag hardly ever miss I thought i would never say scag is good but i dont have to cut twice with the scag. With the other mowers they miss have to cut twice. And also on weedeaters i think husqavarna are the best but terrible on the zero turns. Head brake on shindawia, red max, and my steel weedeater carburator went out on the first month. But hope anyone who reads this help them out a lot this is on the commerical side. I am changing to scag when i am done with the others for sure. And also with the scag it has 1300 hrs on it and barely had any major breakdowns. I am sold.
Scag because I run one every day and love it best Machine ever for large scale mowing
Scag set the bar on strong decks and frames,,that matters alot..before z mowers existed, scags had the toughest walk behind mowers in the business,, i was and still am a fan of toro walk behinds only because the t bar is easier.
Great comparison! I just bought a 2006 Lazer Z with 1300 hours (ex golf course machine). Can't wait to haul it out to the farm. It would be much appreciated if you could slow down your narrative a bit...for an old guy like me, I can't hear as fast as you can talk, lol. Thanks for the video.
I'd love to see how a Walker brand mower does in this kind of test. They're crazy expensive but I still think the SCAG would win.
Im amish and I have 22 goats that kick ass. And my wife with a weedwacker.
Can the Amish use string trimmers ? I only ask because I’ve always been under the impression powertools were forbidden? The craftsmanship I’ve seen from the Amish is exemplary and impressive. I only ask, out of ignorance. I just don’t know, always heard no power tolls
@@J4k3roi21 yep
Jacob Roy I doubt he’s Amish. Haha. Why would he have a computer and internet if so. Lots of Amish here and that’s not how they live.
tigergreg8 good point. Not a huge Amish population around here in Maine but I’ve been to penn and Indiana, and they live very basically. The Amish wouldn’t use CZcams. Could call haha duh
tigergreg8 their trimmers are Goats lol (quite effective I might add, especially at ridding the land of poison Ivey)
The Exmark is also going faster than the other guy which makes a difference
I mentioned this in a reply but just so it shows up in comments: scag was going slower and rpm's seemed to be higher as well. Makes a HUGE difference in blade speed
Everyone knows Scag is the best that is why the comparison is always whatever mower vs Scag. Great video.
I think you went faster in the exmark than the scag... which is going to effect literally the outcome. Note I have no dog in this race.
This really isn't a comparison. Scag was going so much slower hence a nicer cut.
I want to see the same guy run each mower...every operator is different.
I think that you are advertising the scag turf tiger lawnmower that's smart
Awesome job
They are both good mowers, but the Scag mower was going slower then the Exmark. The Exmark also lays better strips then the Scag. BTW Husqvarna makes grate equipment it is just not ment to cut 3 food grass. Another thing that you should keep in mind is that all brands are great as long as you keep up on maintenance.
Husqvarna pz 60 would have done just as good if not better then that exmark and scag
I believe in good maintenance but, not all mowers cut good. I've been on a lot of mowers and there is a difference.
I guess it depends on the type if grass, but in wisconsin the scag hands down lays better stripes, we run both and all my mowing guys would agree
Idk about you but the Scag has always cut and stripped better then Exmark or Husqvarna. Plus, you can see the difference between the scag cutting everything nicely and the Exmark leaving weird trails. Even in the 2nd demo when the scag didn't blow grass on the Exmarks path.
All brands are not great. MTD’s riders suck. A lot.
Thanks for the comparison ..... however, to me, it appears this wasn’t a fair test; HP, wheel size, speed of cut, amount cut per pass. My assessment is the Exmark was driven first and much faster, and obviously with full cut loads and demanding all available HP. The TT2 followed, was driven slower and cut behind the Exmark. The test may have been better if they ran parallel and at the same rate of speed for 20 yards to assess the cut quality. Remember, there is serviceability and support to factor into buying decisions. Both good units, but I’m not swayed to move away from Exmark.
we can tell you sticking to exmark but the more solid machine is obvious
nice, keep em coming
I'm hoping the ex-mark I just started using the exact same machine I love it !
Blades on exmark looked beat up. Would love to see same new blades installed on both for fairer side by side.
looked like to me that the scag had the blades with chips and shit in em
Exmark blades had chips broken out of them....oh well....fun comparison...not really fair....I enjoyed it😎
die hard scag owner since 1988 hands down the most durable most reliable best built best cutting machines available. learn
⬛️🟧⬛️Team Scag for Life🟧⬛️🟧
I have a Scag Liberty Z named Harvey and he is amazing, highly recommended for a nice ride-on mower. He is a beast and extremely reliable. I would also suggest getting a Grass-Gobbler grass catcher for whatever mower you run, I really like they're look and performance, and they are not heavy at all.
That Velocity Plus deck is consistently voted the best cutting deck in the industry year in and year out. It has been dominating since its introduction over 10 years ago and no one has surpassed the cut quality yet.
That’s a very bold statement lol. The Velocity deck is good, but I’d argue the UltraCut deck is the standard :)
