Man I needed to read my monster manual more closely, having nimble escape is a game changer

Had to fight a Nilbog last session. The DM was downright gleeful, while the players (and especially me) were seething. Nimble Escape + having to do a CHA saving throw to attack or be charmed + having all our DPS be low on charisma + _fucking Reversal of Fortune_ made for one hell of an encounter. And that's without getting into the time it hit me with Hideous Laughter.... anyway, yeah goblins can be a real danger in the right hands, and that's why I'm so gonna play one in my next campaign.

I prefer kobolds myself. Tricksy little guys.

Kobolds are less flexible at low levels though because they have pack tactics which ends up murdering players VERY quickly
