The management (filming, editing, etc.) of this new Asayama Ichiden Ryu's English Channel "Let's ask Seki Sensei" is completely Shogo’s voluntary work. If he is not able to pay for the expensive bullet train fare from Kyoto to Ibaraki Prefecture (where the main Dojo is located), and hotel/filming expenses, this activity will cease. Please help us spread and preserve this 400-year-old martial art. In return, we will try our best to create the most educational and exciting content about Japanese Kobudo.

Thank you 😊 🙏
I really enjoy your tutorials thank you again
Basically what happened to lord Asano Of Ako,he drew first his blade after being taunted by the old bitter old man kira, and because of his taunts, and making lord Asano drawing his wakizashi in the presence of of his superior,he then had to commit seppaku, and then the 47 ronin happened.R.I.P to Asano and his brave 47🙏
Props to the other man for always being there for demonstration
That's why greedo is at fault, even though han shot first greedo drew first.
very good point.
Exactly George Lucas and Korusawa, there rings a bell
How do you determine who drew first after the fight? What if the guy who attacked you insists you drew first? It's not like there was a referee standing next to you during the fight... 🤔
The samurai would usually not move around on their own, but will always have subordinates with them! Also a court will be held to judge after that!
@@letsasksekisensei Wow, a court!? Now I know why we take the first strike in Karate so overly serious 😅
Thank you for your answer, Seki Sensei
So much protocol involved in this art. It's someone to how some they open now and stood against Samurai
This is also why the long hakama would be worn in places like Edo Castle, to make an attack by a disgruntled samurai that much more difficult. I can’t imagine the punishment for drawing a sword in Edo Castle, or in the Emperor’s residence. Just seppuku wouldn’t be enough, if the story of Lord Asano is accurate.
In medieval Europe noble people also were often rather captured than killed on a battlefield, so the victorious faction could demand ransom to return them.
Love your videos
THX Maester
question: how is that no one figured that to use both katana and wakizashi would be an advantage before musashi?
It requires a lot of strength, not easy with the type of diet they have back then
Full video please!
Hmm, luring the assailant.
👍🙏
This isnt how real combat works.
In the real world, combat is life and death.
There are no ceremonies or tradition or rules.
Im sure they used any blade available.
Full video not in the comments yet 😮
It is now!
