Now when I think back - I feel that HIS VOICE WAS MY FIRST CRUSH - WITHOUT KNOWING HINDI AS A LANGUAGE FROM SOUTH INDIA, as a 6 years old Kutty girl ,,, used to automatically listen to his song in RADIO FROM SOME HOUSE,,,, but ultimately it became my obsession. just to eagerly wait for this song to be hear- I used to frequent that house by same time as I heard first time. Such is the magnetism of his voice...I liked him without knowing anything about him,,,, but now I really love him..for liking him from such an innocent age. He is real gem and rarest gem of BOLLYWOOD even better than any other singers. He is such a sweeeeetest person with golden heart...so dignified and very pure hearted person. I love him for ever. Wish you alllllllll the bestest..my dear shailender ji.
In Hindi film Industry at least we got some variety of voice in male play back singing but in female singers Lata didn't allow anyone to establish in the industry. luckily Asha was her sister so we got One More voice otherwise....

शैलेन्द्र सिंह का ये इंटरव्यू देखा । शैलेन्द्र सिंह को गाते हुए सुना । और वो भी बिना किसी साज के/ साऊन्ड सिस्टम के । कमाल है। बिल्कुल वही आवाज जो बरसों पहले फिल्म Bobby में सुनी थी । शैलेन्द्र सिंह की इस सदा जवान आवाज ने साबित कर दिया है कि- सिंगर कभी बूढ़ा नहीं होता । गहन आश्चर्य होता है कि, आज भी अपनी गायिकी में वही मिठास लिये हुए शैलेन्द्र सिंह आजकल के संगीतकारों के साथ काम करते नज़र नहीं आ रहे हैं ? जबकि शैलेन्द्र सिंह संगीत के अच्छे जानकार और सीखे हुए कलाकार हैं ।
कहीं ऐसा तो नहीं कि -
शैलेन्द्र तो आज भी गाते हैं वैसा ही !!
किसी से भी कम नहीं !
पर शैलेन्द्र को गवा सके -
ये आज के संगीतकारों में दम नहीं !!"
शैलेन्द्र सिंह उस स्वर्णिम युग के गायकों की श्रेणी मे आते हैं- जब कलाकारों को बेहद कड़ी मेहनत और रियाज से गुजरना पड़ता था । जब ये जरूरी तौर पर देखा और परखा जाता था कि - अमुक सिंगर की आवाज हीरो के चेहरे पर कितनी फिट बैठती है? राजकपूर के लिए मुकेश जी की आवाज उनका एक पर्याय बन गई थी। रफी साहब की आवाज शम्मी कपूर से लेकर दिलीपकुमार,राजेन्द्र कुमार,धर्मेन्द्र जैसे कई अभिनेताओं के चेहरे के लिए फिट मानी जाती थी । राजेश खन्ना/ देवानंद के लिए किशोर कुमार सबसे आगे थे । उसी तर्ज पर जब शैलेन्द्र सिंह की आवाज जब Bobby में ॠषी कपूर के चेहरे पर सुनने देखने को मिली तो हंगामा बरपा हो गया था। क्योंकि उस समय मीडिया इतना जवान नहीं था । बल्कि पैदा ही नहीं हुआ था । Bobby के गीतों में शैलेन्द्र की आवाज ऋषि कपूर के चेहरे पर कुछ इस तरह से घुल मिल गई थी कि बहुत से श्रोताओं ने यही समझ लिया था कि गाने ॠषी कपूर ने ही गाए हैं ।
आज बरसों बाद शैलेन्द्र सिंह को आपके चैनल पर देख सुनकर बेहद ही खुशी हुई ।
शैलेन्द्र साहब आज भी उसी तरह से गाते हुए नज़र आए - जैसा कि Bobby में सुना था ।
समझ में नहीं आता है कि आज के संगीतकारों के कानों को क्या हो गया है?
जबकि आज शैलेन्द्र को सुनकर यह कहना गलत नहीं है कि- आज भी शैलेन्द्र सिंह Bobby जैसा हंगामा बरपा कर सकते हैं ।

It is now that I have seen Shailendra Ji . I had been such a fan of his voice and melodious songs. What a nice person and he is still is good looking. What hurt to hear is that he struggles now . TV reality shows should invite such great contributors to our music and new generation should know who know who they are . three generaations loved him and now greats like Shailendra ji are slowly getting forgotten...It is sad. They can sing better than many new singers.
