He talks straight from the heart. And one is touched when he admits fewer songs came to him! He could have told that songs were not of his liking and so he didn't accept! One loves him for his frankness. What a joy in listening to him throughout! especially when he expresses his awesome love, admiration of Rafisab.

शैलेंद्र जी नेपोटिज्म का फल है । उनकी गायकी और अदाकारी में कोई धार नही थी । इनके गीत बेहद फ्लैट मालूम होते है कानो को । आज के समय के नए गायकों के सामने ये टिक भी नहीं पाते । इसीलिए इनका करियर बहुत लंबा नहीं चल पाया ।

Really enjoyed the songs of Shailendra Singh from Bobby (1973) till Gurudev (1993) both starting and ending with Rishi Kapoorji. Unfortunately Shailendra Singh's singing range was very limited hence wise did not sing alot of songs from 1980's onwards. Most of his songs were picturised on Rishi kapoor such as Bobby, khel khel mein, amar akbar anthony, Zamane ko Dikhaana hai, Naseeb, Coolie, Hawalaat, Amiri garibi and Gurudev. Nevertheless loved all his songs.
