  • Changing my clutch cable on my Suzuki Bandit 600.
    I'm no a mechanic and this is the first time I've changed a clutch cable.
    If the bite point is in the wrong place you can fiddle with the adjusters.
    Remember / take a pic of the gear lever to make sure its back in the right spot or it could be too high or low.
    I hope this video gives some info and maybe help others.
    If you don't feel confident in doing this yourself then you should get a qualified mechanic to do it for you.

    This video saved my life mate thanks. Cable snapped on my Bandit GSF650 and I ordered a new part. Watched this video a couple of time and replaced it without any problems. The gunk behind the plate was unreal and needed a good clean too.
    CHEERS AGAIN

    Good tip for you, always tie string on the cables when taking them off because you tie them on the new one and you can feed it easily through its original route

    Tape old cable to new cable and pull through also as someone said you have no return spring!.
    Or just chance it to hydraulic clutch like old 750 GSXr 11oo and 12 bandit.
    Nice presentation though

    • @MMcGRider
      @MMcGRider  Před 8 lety

      The clutch cable had about 30k on it the one I got on Sv 650s has 32k on it and needs replacing now. Clutch life span it self depends on how you ride. Thank you for the nice comment and watching.

    • @MMcGRider
      @MMcGRider  Před 7 lety

      Sorry to ask obvious question but you did check the kill switch again ? Did you adjust the clutch accordingly? So clutch does not make it stall. Make sure your not trying to start the bike in gear ? Has the vacuum hose come off the tank tap? Am not sure about anything else there, check czcams.com/users/Moonfleet41 He's Great with all kinds of motorcycles maybe he can help. Let me know how you get on.

    good vid but that cable is way too tight as you'll find out when you next take the bike out!
    You should have at least 8-12mm of free play at the end of the lever and you have none!!
