- Gray Zone Warfare will most likely take over the internet if it ever gets out of early access. Gray Zone gameplay does everything Tarkov gameplay does but in an open world setting that causes unhinged outcomes. It would be funny if I weren't losing all of my loot constantly. Multiplayer open world mil sim extraction shooter is endless chaos and Gray Zone is all of those things turned up to 11. It's realistic, it's raw and it's impossible to extract, I literally still have not extracted one time, this is not a joke...

It’s stupid how they did the helicopter system man I love wanting to play the game but it’s real hard when there’s at least 2-4 extracts that I can’t go to or else I get insta killed as soon as I step off the helicopter and they change server to server

You can call helicopters whenever dude. And you can play in PVE servers where your buddies can’t do team damage to you
but what's the fun in that? games are funny BECAUSE of the friendly fire.

@@manboy4720 It only works in looter shooter if there's a good enough "tit-for-tat" system for team killing. For example in Tarkov, if you kill a fellow scav, you suffer great trader penalties which are very undesirable. However, sometimes you come across a fellow scav with a million ruble gun on them, and in that case, it might be worth to take the trader penalty to get the loot, even if its scummy
edit: might've been just a bug on my end, not sure anymore if this is legit.
PvE mode is also a good option until they sort out the crashes - if you get disconnected or the game crashes, you don't lose your loadout! :)
Just in case this doesn't get brought up again (I am only 1:45 into the video). Helicopters are not random. You call them in by opening the full map (Tab and then select "map", or Hold M [Tapping M brings up the smaller half-screen map]) Then click on the LZ you want to go to and a window will appear in the top right corner with a button to "Call Transport". At this point the a helicopter will go to the nearest LZ to where you currently are, to pick you up. You can go from your base to any LZ, from any LZ back to base, and from any LZ to any other LZ.
Also as an addition to this comment, you can't extract on a helicopter that is dropping off other players, they don't return to the base, they just fly off the map.
Friendly fire and LZ camping is also a huge issue in the game, but the game does offer a purely PVE mode that has friendly fire disabled that can mitigate this issue while we hopefully wait for a fix. Your progress is the same in both modes.

@@thefryinallofus It's possible, and he does call a helo later briefly, but this is to confirm for folks who know nothing about the game, or people who are maybe having the same issue. I've seen plenty of folks who don't know how to use them either XD
That’s a terrible system ngl
This game has no tutorial and the tooltips are bonkers so here's a couple notes:
1) you can call a helo to take you to landing zones you've discovered, and everyone starts with the closest one I believe, at least, I started with Charlie 1 unlocked on the map.
B) friendly fire is on but too many friendly fires results in a force kick from the game. A friend of mine found this out the hard way when we engaged some friendlies who we didn't realise were friendlies and he got kicked after killing two of them.
iii) its early access, the crashes suck but they're inevitable. I know a lot of people are coming to Gray Zone from Tarkov after the controversy with that game, but Gray Zone has had way less development time and is very clearly a work in progress. If the game was a full release and still played like this well that would be another story.

I do not even *own* Gayzone so I am not the most qualified to explain exactly how it works, but the gist is that you have to click where you want to go, not where you are. The heli will then come to the closest Landing Zone to take you to the Landing Zone you selected.
4- Yes, "Gayzone" was intentional

I think there’s a missing ingredient that’s yet to be understood with Alpha releases.
I’ve got Ground Branch, Zero Hour, Ready or Not, Six days to Fallujah, Reforger, and Star Citizen.
Reforger and Star Citizen are the only ones I’d recommend buying. The player base stuck around, the games are mind blowing (when they work) and there’s a lot of variety.
I see this taking the same fate as Ground Branch or RoN. There’s just not enough here to keep people engaged long term.
@@johnmaurer3097 Reforger and SC are the games I play the most by far, and no matter what new games come out I am never drawn away. The alpha aspect to me is part of the fun. It's so exciting every time a new feature or release is announced!
And it was all done by a mobile dev, not a triple A company.Its a fun game that at least partially works. Better than any big dev recently with a billion dollar budget.
Nothing but bug fixes and dedicated patches and this game should be the replacement to the dumpster fire that is Tarkov right fucking now.

I'm kinda freaked out, because I've never in my life played Zelda wind waker, I've never even watched a let's play of it. But I still almost immediately recognized the desktop background to be the starter town from Zelda wind waker.
I recognized it from watching a dude play Blade and sorcery modded map as spiderman with a gun.

i think its because wind waker is low key the most iconic of the zelda games--i was talking with some coworkers a few weeks ago who don't play zelda games, and aside from the obvious Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom stuff they knew about just from being gamers in the recent times, they really only knew about WW. I mentioned stuff from Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask to blank stares. and these are people that are basically the same age as me.

Exactly the same game, but everyone has really great short shorts and exclusively uses suppressed weapons and ghillie suits (also tailored as great short shorts) when they decide to team kill. Exclusive back stabbing animations are currently a stretch goal.

I’m sure lots of people have already told ya “you can call in helicopters” but here’s the full thang there’s three factions they all have their own landing zones in the beginning and you can get deeper into their territory to increase the odds of finding them.
The helicopter system itself works by opening your map and selecting the lz’s that you have and returning works by clicking the base (me and my friends all got confused by that)
ignoring the early access bullshit (i knew what i was getting into, i can't complain)
having a blast, loving it so far
and is actually running pretty well and working as intended very often on my pc
aside from the fact that its 35 bucks at minimum, it looks decent.

Dude, you CAN call in the transport helos lmao. You hold M to open the big map then click on the LZ you want to go to, the helo will go to the nearest LZ you're at to pick you up.

Wish there was a game like this that was singleplayer. As a dad with a toddler and working 55 hours per week, long form extraction shooters aren't an option for me :( Tried Incursion Red River but discovered it was a 100% asset flip, every single mechanic and model is lifted from the asset store, and it only has one tiny map made in the default Unity map creator. Some people like it but I have the feeling it's a pump and dump to take advantage of the Tarkov drama, will keep an eye on it, but don't have any faith in Early Access games....
you can play the pve mode in this with cross progression to pvp servers. there will still be other players but no friendly fire.
There is a really good single player tarkov mod

@@zekeholliday51 Played it and loved it, but can't pause and you have that countdown timer to extract. Plus I remember meeting an NPC that was fully armored, ran around a corner and one tapped me even after I heard him coming and unloaded a full AKM magazine from his upper chest, through his neck, and into his face. Tarkov's armor modelling is/was jank

Dude, for the heli, you click where you want to go, then it will tell you where to meet it for pickup.
Not that it matters, because if too many helicopters are in use at once, it won't send one to you until some leave the map

Hey boys a quick tip to not lose gear after crash, once it puts you back at main menu, if your character is still shown having all gear you need to load in immediately. If you load into a server before your character on the main screen gets wiped you’ll end up keeping all of your kit, even looted items. Had a buddy rage quit for 30 seconds in main menu until his character wiped visually on the main screen and lost his gear. Other home boy did as I advised instead of complaining and got his gear back before it wiped. I’ve only lost kit from a full on crash that closes the game. So if you DC load back in as fast as possible

Just for new players! To call in an extract OR to leave the base
Click on the LZ that you intend to visit on the map and at the top right hand corner there is an option to call in a helicopter!
If you try and click the one closest to you it will say "LZ is too close" or something along those lines.

I wish this game didn't suffer from optimization/performance and server issues.
I honestly wouldn't mind being stuck at 30 FPS, but the server lag and frequent crashes make it hard to enjoy the game.

You can call helicopters yourself, they leave either when the person who called it gets on or if they miss the window, the window is big. If you called it in, wait for your friends to get on, then get on yourself.

I haven’t played the game but it seems like having some ground vehicles that players could use could fix all the main issues with helicopters.
*PLAYING DEADSIDE WHILE WAITING FOR THIS TO BE PLAYABLE*
You cannot get on any helicopter dropping soldiers off. It automatically is going to fly off map to despawn. It would be certain death if you were able to somehow get on. If someone is extracting or leaving base you can get on with them, but not after a drop off. Also, just talk to the folks around you, I have not been team killed yet and everyone is super helpful and friendly.

Its amazing, and actually kinda similar to the game in the way that uts a extraction shooter where ppl are constantly coming into the map.
Friendly word of advice, the helo countown only starts when the person who called the helo in boards. Whoever called it in initially should be last man.

I love how listening to the devs they talk about how shooting other PMCs isn't required and how you can just ignore each other but the intrinsic ape brain of man screams for delicious bloodshed
I'm guessing at higher tiers it has diminishing returns because you can just buy your gear again,but at low level its probably more rewarding cause you get weapons you can't purchase from vendors.
