I was catholic now muslim it makes sense as Islam doesn't require mental gymnastics like Catholicism requires to justify breaking the first two commandments.
Get "The clear Quran" its wording is more fitting for the religion of peace.

He believes Allah (swt) is the creator and Muhammad (pbuh) is the messenger which really makes him a Muslim. I think you should’ve asked him to say the shahda because sometimes people don’t know how simple it is. I think all you needed to tell him was to confirm what he all ready believes that’s all brother. I hope this helps inshallah

The purpose of this life is to explore your own mind and to understand it... Everything is created within yourself... If you want to worship the creator then worship yourself... Why do your want to worship any god or the creator?does he feel sad when we don't worship? Don't waste your time blind faiths... Explore your mind then you will find who the real creator is and what the universe is... If the quran accepts time and space then actually there is big fault in it.. The truth is beyond the time and space... Does islam teaches how the time and space is created ? Not by means of many years back , but now in" present momen"t? the time we all experience is nothing but an illusion of our mind... Does islam teaches that? If not Then it is a blind faith ...If you question everything then question from where these thoughts are coming ? Why i m accepting everything? Are you 100% sure that you exists ? Can you touch the same thing that you see? When we look at a wall and then touch it , we think we are touching the same wall which we see.... Acctually that is also a blind faith... Acctually the sounds we hear and the images that we see are two different worlds... But because of the ignorance in ourselves ,a link created between that two world and a conclusion built that " we touch the same wall that we see" ... How stupied we all are... we can never ever touch the same wall the we see..the idea of the wall is also created like that...then a wall trully doesn't exists... Even your mother,father,sister , brother all of them are created like that... Everything is like this... Acctually minds tricks are very much complicated ... The "time" we all expirence is also such a blind faith in us...for an example think about something happen in the past... So you feel that memory which came to your mind is something accutually happen in the past.. Be honest ... I think 99.99% who reads this comment feels like that... How can you tell that it had happen in the past? It is a thought in this moment... Think deeply.. How can you tell that it is the past.... ? Does islam teaches at least such complicated things? So don't be in blind faiths... Explore your minds

Let me explain the thing about evil the brother didn’t explain it well. Allah created jinn which is the devil and mankind. The Jinn refused to worship Allah and made promise to Allah that he will cause chaos and destruction among mankind and will do anything in his power to steer people to the hellfire with him. Allah gave humans free will and he gave us knowledge and common sense to know between what is evil and good. As humans we have a choice to do good or evil and the Quran and following the prophet is our way to do good.

Brother, it's pretty simple, just say the shahada like go to a sheikh in a mosque (don't worry, you are very welcomed to enter the mosque) and ask that sheikh to repeat with him the shahada and make him translate it to you so you know what you are saying. Once you say the shahada then you are now a Muslim and all of your past sins are wiped out.
Just go where the neares mosque near you place n said you want to become a muslim..
Go to mosque and meet the Imam. Btw congratulations brother..

- Have you ever read Quran with "objective glasses" ? (if not, I STRONGLY invite you to do.)
And yes. We Muslims our reference and source of legislation and life is, not any book, it is THE BOOK which contains THE VERBATIM WORD of the CREATOR of EVERYTHING that you know and you don't know too.
Once we established the truthfulness of the Messenger to whom those Words have been revealed, and once we put that Book to the test of authenticity, then as we HEAR we OBEY.
This might seem logic, easy and evident for some people.. but it is EASY *only for those whom The Creator Made it EASY for them..*
So, to every one who needs Guidance may he be guided, and to everyone who prefers to stay stray may he be remain stray..

Prophet Muhammad claimed that he is the final messenger of God, the successor of Prophet Abraham, Prophet Moses, and Prophet Jesus. it is a really big claim, isn't it? Have you ever consider to know more about him? If you can prove he lied, then you can keep your current belief, but if otherwise, you know he truly brings the messages from God of this universe.
The easiest way is you can directly read the Qur'an, which is claimed as the words of God, and you can see and feel it yourself.
