  • In this video, we're going to discuss what life is like as an expat living in Uruguay. From the good to the bad, we'll cover everything you need to know about living in Uruguay as an expat.
    Uruguay is a great place to live as an expat, and this video will help you find out all the details about what it's like to live in Uruguay. From the cost of living to the climate, we'll cover it all in this video! So if you're thinking about moving to Uruguay, this is the video for you!
    Recently my wife and I were invited down to Uruguay to explore the country and to start some due diligence for my private clients. We went down to see if Uruguay was a good country for expats to live in and a viable option to safely move money into the country's residential real estate and agricultural investments. This is a short preview video on what the lifestyle and the landscape looks like in Uruguay, with a lot more content to come out in the coming weeks about this.

    I really like the idea of Uruguay. I get the impression that no one ever goes there, nothing ever happens there, and no one ever thinks of it. This is perfect for me

      It is boring if you live there for real and if you like being lied to and taken advantage of and nothing absolutely nothing working then yes...you should try it .. I lived in different African countries and I prefer any of those than ever retuning to Uruguay. Most expats leave again. Only those with a criminal record or too little cash to move on will stay

      It is truly shocking and bizarre how much "nothing" happens there. Coming from the United States, it's hard to have an understanding of the societal narrative and the general direction of the country.
      It exists as if suspended in time. That can be amazing and frustrating. As Jose said, Uruguayans like it that way and they should.
      It is a major destination for Europeans with money who wish to escape the insanity falling on all cultures and countries of that bend. That said, it takes money. If you have it already you'll be fine. If you're looking to strike it rich, Vietnam wins hands down.

We would like to have dual citizenship with USA and some other country if possible. We want to be out of the USA Mid-October and come back to the USA Mid-April. For decades Uruguay has been well known and respected in the world of Latin America. It is a beautiful country, small, with a well educated population, largely European, and with significant stability. Punta del Este is a gem but expensive. The country is well presented in international terms. And Buenos Aires and Argentina as a whole with all their attractions are just on the other side, for those who are looking for more action and social amenities. At this point Buenos Aires does not envy Paris at all, on the contrary. I am neither Uruguayan nor Argentine,

      Uruguay , on the contrary, has always been a middle class country. Without too much extreme poverty or extreme wealth. It worsen with the left wing in government. But thank God they were voted out. Even though I do not live now in Uruguay, masks were mandatory in enclosed areas, such as shopping centers, etc. But after a vaccination plan that was successful, you are not forced to wear masks indoors anymore... there might be some exceptions I guess... such as hospitals, and schools I guess... just like in USA. Anyhow, Uruguayan´s economy never stopped during the pandemic, they didn´t enforce quarantine, like in neighboring countries, they just recommended people to stay home the most they could, and to keep a distance o 2 meters as well as to wear masks. At least, at the beginning people took it so seriously that anyone would have thought quarantine was in effect... 😅 The streets looked like ghost streets... no one outside.. 🥶

    • @PhuckTheQueen
      @PhuckTheQueen Před rokem

      no middle class. only entitled br**s of low class families that got rich by selling worthless land to foreigners at premium prices. communist mindset. racist country. worst 5 years of our lives. nobody was forced to wear masks or get jabs, they did so voluntarily...when we left 1 year ago over 90% of the eligible population had the 4th!!! dosis..also they hexxed kids before pfizer even announced it safe for children of that age group...now with everyone hexxed they paddled back and said no to jab between 5 and 13 years of age...but they were all hexxed already.

      @@PhuckTheQueen I feel sorry for your bad experience... but in Uruguay there is a maxim that says: Dime con quien andas y te diré quien eres! (Tell me who you surround yourself with and I will tell you who you are) And if you didn´t know how to choose the right people, jobs, etc., it is not the country´s fault, but your own poor criteria to choose. Everywhere there are con people!!! Tell me. I live in the States, and if I look at this country with the "victim´s eyes," like you do... I could easily say that it is a HORRIBLE, INSECURE, DISGUSTING country full of conmen... Lots of criminals, assassins who kill masses for no apparent reasons, better don´t be in the wrong place at the wrong time, because you might not make it alive... Like those poor souls who were watching the 4th of July parade in a quiet wealthy suburb like Highland Park in Illinois... In this country there are lots of gangs, drugs, rapes, scams, you name it... A month ago, someone, somehow got access to my bank account (I do not buy anything in the internet for safety reasons), still, in here, in this very developed country, they tried to get ALMOST ALL MY LIFE SAVINGS, straight from my bank account... Thank God, and APP that had nothing to do with it, sent me a notification, and every time that happens it beeps... so it woke me up in the middle of the night, and for my horror, next to it there was a "bank regular email" asking if I had authorized "x" amount (thousands of dollars) to pay to x company... But they didn´t even bother to call me... even though the amount was for practically all my savings... I reported what happened... do you think they bothered to give me any explanations or apology? No, nothing, zero, zip, nada! But because of that I can not say that this is a shit hole! And it is funny you are judging a country for something that happens everywhere in the world... Sorry, you must luck of emotional intelligence!!! 🤔🤔🤔

      What the heck are you talking about? Uruguayans do not invade Brasil or Argentina to survive like Mexicans do. On the contrary. Nowadays Argentineans and Brazilians are moving to Uruguay. Our culture is very similar to the Argentinean one and the one of Southern Brasil, and we get along with both countries. At least with Brasil there are 3 border cities that connect as one... such as Rivera-Livramento! Look for info to understand what I mean! That doesn´t happen anywhere between Mexico and USA. For me to travel to Brasil or Argentina, I just carry and ID. I do not need a passport or an special permit. I know because I´ve done it. I even crossed with my ID from Argentina to Brasil in the Iguazu area. So, I do not see any logic with your comparison! And I know Mexico and of course USA... Mexico and USA, have totally different culture... Not us... our history is so close that we all have relatives in both countries, immigrants that decided to stay in one country or another... You are dead wrong. It is funny, if you hear many Brazilian they say we are part of them... and Argentineans say we are one of their provinces... (they do it to pick up a fight with us, because we defend our Independence)... so they do not even consider us, as another country... I don´t think Americans want Mexico to be part of the USA!!! Or Mexicans can get in the US with only an ID, without visa and stay as long as they want...
