Greetings, friends! In this video, we want to talk to you about the cost of living in Uruguay. Always remember to activate the notification bell so that CZcams can alert you when we release another video.
Let's start by asking ourselves this question: "Why should you visit Uruguay?"
Uruguay, a small gem in South America, offers a captivating blend of natural beauty, cultural richness, and warm hospitality that makes it an enticing destination for travelers. Here are some compelling reasons why you should consider visiting Uruguay:
Beautiful beaches: With over 400 kilometers of unspoiled coastline along the Atlantic Ocean and the Rio de la Plata, Uruguay boasts picturesque beaches, perfect for relaxing, surfing, and enjoying stunning sunsets.
Charming cities: The capital, Montevideo, and charming towns like Colonia del Sacramento offer a unique mix of historical charm and modernity. Explore their historic streets, squares, and museums to experience Uruguay's rich history and culture.
Gastronomic delights: Uruguayan cuisine is a delightful fusion of flavors influenced by its European heritage and the abundant supply of fresh produce. Savor delicious dishes like the famous "asado" (barbecue) and the traditional "chivito" sandwich.
But let's now talk about the cost of living in Uruguay.
The cost of housing in Uruguay is very affordable, especially compared to other countries in the region. A one-bedroom apartment in the center of Montevideo usually costs around $400-500 per month or 19,000 pesos. If you are willing to live outside the city center, you can find apartments for even less.

We are in Uruguay right now and it’s terrible. Very unfriendly. People don’t look up to say hi from the sidewalks as you constantly have to watch out for dog poop everywhere. The sidewalks and streets are in desperate need of attention. Food is terrible. I could go on and on and I don’t care if people send me negative comments. It’s still my truth as well as the truth for many others. It’s a dump in Uruguay.
