    I'm quite new to shotcut. I have just made a slideshow before seeing this easy method. I like the zoom ins on each of the images.... is there an "easy" way to zoom out on certain images though after it is made. Thanks for the vid'

    • @joe_cullen
      @joe_cullen  Před 11 měsíci +1

      Hi there, this can be achieved, but it isn't overly easy. You'll need to use 'Key Frames' on the 'Size Position and Rotate' filter to zoom out. I would consider this an advanced topic if your not using the tool to do it automatically for you. I have a video explaining how to zoom in/out, its not exactly what you need but will point you in the right direction: czcams.com/video/oRxta4DSao4/video.html Goodluck with your editing!

    Thanks so much Joe for sharing this! Do you mind telling me how your voice is so clear. I basically hear no background noise at all. No matter how hard I try or how many devices and mics I buy I can never accomplish this even with an audio interface that I once tested too.

    • @joe_cullen
      @joe_cullen  Před rokem

      Hey, thanks for the kind words! I have a podcast mic that runs through a free software called VoiceMeeter (yes spelt weird like that). I then use some additional filters on OBS (the recording software I use). Lastly, I close all my windows and have a very quite office. All of that coupled together usually results in what you hear. If I have a bad day and forget the window... I use Audacity and the 'Noise Recuction' effect - it's a life-saver! I hope that gives you some pointers!

    • @joe_cullen
      @joe_cullen  Před 2 lety

      Hi Earl, glad the video helps! The time limit on a full video in Shotcut @ 60fps is 9,942 hours. I think the computer and hard drive would die before you hit the time limit! I'm not aware of any limits within the slideshow designer. If you find any please do let me know! But I think you are good to go!

    That is so helpful, thank you! Is there an easy way to copy and paste the photos so that they fit the length of the audio rather than vice versa? It's for an interview so I thought I'd repeat the images a few times.

    • @joe_cullen
      @joe_cullen  Před rokem

      Hi, goodluck with your interview! I'm not aware of a way to fit the images to the audio automatically, however, if you know how many images you have, and the length of the audio, you can then get the amount of time each clip needs to be shown for. Similar to this calculation:
      TotalTimeOfAudioInSeconds / NumberOfImages = SecondsToDisplayEachClip

    Explanation of important details not mentioned in other tutorials. I still have an important question: How do you proceed if you have added photos using the "Add to slide show" function and subsequently edit them (e.g. change the display duration, transitions or dynamic zoom of individual images, etc.) or new source material (photos or videos) between those already in the timeline want to insert existing photos? All my attempts in this regard have so far caused chaos in the course of the video editing.

    • @joe_cullen
      @joe_cullen  Před 2 lety

      Hi Sumas, if you want a slideshow with different durations, transitions, etc for every slide, the best thing to do is edit them manually. The Slideshow function is made for simplicity, its not overly advanced.
      If you are doing it manually, its then much easier to change the images about too.

    • @joe_cullen
      @joe_cullen  Před rokem

      Hey, I'm not aware of a limit. Best thing to do is give it a try and see what happens - I think you're more likely to find a limit on the laptop/computer resources than a physical limit in Shotcut. If you do find a limit please could you let me know? That would be helpful info!

    I get clicks and skips at each of the image transition points. A single audio of original music in wav format. Tried adjusting gain, adding compression, no difference. Any idea what's happening? Using current version. Thanks.

    • @joe_cullen
      @joe_cullen  Před 2 lety

      Hi Thom, is the audio clicking when you play it outside of Shotcut, or is it playing as expected?
      When you preview the slideshow (in Shotcut) does it click at this stage?
      When exporting and watching the final production, is that when clicking occurs?
      Work out what stage the clicking starts and it will scale down the potential solutions. I image it is to do with the export settings. Let me know how you get on!

    • @joe_cullen

      Hi there, Shotcut does not have a paid version - its all free! To share to any social platform you need to export the video to your computer as an mp4 file. When it has finished exporting (can take a while) that file can then be uploaded to Insta, etc.
