Man Nkunku was already a professional striker at PSG, but Leipzig pushed him back in midfield, I don't know why. Maybe they wanted Nkunku to take his cue because he was lacking in confidence? But one thing is certain, he was really fast and just lacked the experience to regain his position as a striker. Leipzig is making it evolve a lot.

he was clearly not a striker in PSG . He was playing alongside verratti , sometimes draxler or matuidi in middlefield the few times he played

All this has made it progress and it has become very versatile. You know you're right in the sense that he was logically not a striker at the time because they had guys like Ibrahimovic Cavani and M'bappé. So by default he played left winger of the 4-3-3 formation. His best position is second striker but unfortunately at PSG is not feasible. All of this made him start to become versatile. Leipzig really gave him confidence. The rest is history
