    With Erling Haaland and Robert Lewandowski both seemingly set to leave the Bundesliga this summer, it looks like the league may have a new face.

    Here's an interesting topic : to what extent has playing in Shakhtar cost Darijo Srna (in my opinion deserved) post-career acclaim? One can certainly make an argument of him being one of the best right backs this century, in his prime at least. Players like Hulk, Luisao and Oscar Cardozo come to mind as well (in terms of being underappreciated players during their playing days as well as now, in retrospect)

    • @michaelfellner9822
      @michaelfellner9822 Před 2 lety +10

      while i do agree with Srna because he was a very intelligent player who basically could do it all, i disagree with someone like Hulk. not that he wasnt talented because obviously he was but because he didnt have the mind of a top player and neither the consistency.

    • @FootballIconic
      @FootballIconic  Před 2 lety +6

      I watch the players, make my own assessment and write it down. Then I dive into a day or two of research and more or less refute or accept my initial assessment and fine tune it once I've done the research. Then I put the video together (graphics, clips etc). The stats just help to emphasize whatever point I'm trying to make. But it changes based on the player/subject.
      For example, for this video, I have only watched a handful of Leipzig matches this season, so the research was the main component as I did not trust my own assessments to be accurate.
