- A short video showing the fix to the SkyRC MC3000 for when the internal posts break that hold the springs in place. I used
small cable ties and some silicone grease.
Sorry no video of me performing the fix, it's a small and fiddly job and shooting it would have been very difficult.
It took me about an hour, including adding the grease and the glue to the screw posts. Easy job really, no soldering required. - Věda a technologie
I also just repaired my SkyRC MC300 using your excellent fix advise. Mine is from December 2016 but the threaded holes are still OK. The plastic posts are really crap. Cable ties are much more durable. Thanks for sharing your fix.
Yes, really poor construction, glad it worked for you
thank you , I have just fixed the spring with the cable ties method. Was kind of a patience game to put it back together.
hi Tom, yes I know what you mean. Mine didn't last that much longer after I put it all back together. I Hope yours lasts longer than mine.
Any idea how to get the discharge AND charge capacity with this charger for aa nimh and 18650s?
I’m not sure you can, and I had to recycle this charger so don’t have it any more.
How old was this when you found these issues please - for the cost of this device one would expect better quality plastics? I'm looking for a good charger/analyser and this is a bit of a put-off!
It took about 14 months for this to show up. Although I think the initial problem with the post breaking was exacerbated as I left a 18650 in the charger (powered off) for a week. Which kept tension on the spring and hence the plastic.
Although there are lots of reports from other users with the same problem.
@@knewideas3860 Thanks... I thought perhaps to do with heat too, but there are better plastic compounds that live up to much more stress than that! The screw posts going too? Perhaps just a faulty batch of cases made, with benefit of doubt.
Yes, I don’t think it was heat just stress on poor plastics
@@knewideas3860 2 years in and half of my posts broke as well, pretty upset about this as this was an very expensive charger.
mines broke after 3 years. so you may expect that. it is an expensive charger but materials used are medicore at most.
Are you serious? I bought this expensive charger because my original LittoKala charger has worked wonders for me, except cheapie brittle plastic it was made out of was crumbling, causing ground issues and the capacitive controls were not responding (I hate touch controls with a passion)
And I spend all this money for this to fall apart too? Well, at least I’ll have 2 chargers that’s falling apart
Hello knewideas,
Thank you very much for this excellent and clear explanation!!!
The used JSL fan
Model: JDM30075
DC 15V 0.10A
I can find its specifications... For example the MTBF
Can you tell me what size the fan is?
If I buy the SkyRC MC3000, I will replace as a precaution, the JSL fan for my favorite brand:

Best regards.
It’s 30mm but I notice there is a new version of the charger out that has two fans.

Hello knewideas,
Thanks again for the answer!
Makes sense, if one (cheap) fan fails.
Is the SkyRC MC3000 fully programmable with the menu of the SkyRC MC3000 itself ?
@@encoenco3310 Yes
Thanks for the info. I will not buy this one and look at the xtar
