I train for speed just to swing a 2 iron. When you flush one, you feel like you hit that bottom of the ninth, down by 3, bases loaded, full count grand slam to win the baseball game.
Still waiting for my custom fit p790s to come in, but in the meantime I am going to pick up one of these to fill in my set since I decided to go 5-PW. Thinking the P-DHY would be ideal to fill in
A friend of mine ordered the 2 iron version of the DHY with the Ventus TR Blue, I took a few swings with it yesterday when we were playing 9 after work and it was a really fun club to hit. Had a low climbing flight, easy to control and easy to get off the deck.
Gamed the previous Srixon ZX utility in a 4 iron(set replacement). Loved the look of it as it was the sleekest version they made but the performance wasn't quite there and also had to strengthen it a degee to match gapping which increased offset. Switched to the newest version after some testing and bought it in a 3 iron....weakened it to 2 degrees to 22 degrees which removed some offset and it's an absolute weapon. Yeah...my 4 iron says 3 iron on the bottom but it looks the way I want it to at address this way and perfectly fills the gap between my 5 wood and 5 iron.
I really like the options available today, across the different club makers. Some folks do not hit hybrids well, others may not hit the driving iron well, some may prefer woods instead. I remember the old days. I learned to play in the 70s. Wood was used in your woods and they were pretty small objects. Blades were almost the rule, but there were some muscle back irons available. A Poor strike resulted in wretched results. Graphite shafts were still far away. Today? Spin the wheel and pick what fits you and meets your criteria. It is out there.

I've got a Ping g400 crossover in the bag because I can't hit a hybrid. As well as everything else, I agree with 'don't need a driver' too
Titleist U505 is a very very good UI. Smooth swings get u 240-250 with no problem, it was a game changer for me
They look so so cool. Wish I had the swing speed for them. After a 4 iron...my 3 and 2 iron shots tend to go less far. 5 wood for me!

Got the dhy so easy to hit. Ive changed my bag. Went for more forgiving and its paying off. Just gotta get that ping 10k

I use the Wilson staff utility iron, love it.
I’ve got 4 friends that swear by those Wilson Staff utility irons. They do feel awesome and I usually hate long irons.

I must disagree, the TaylorMade driving irons have been a total flop, at least in the US.
