With decompensated heart failure, you could experience symptoms that are more widely known signs of a heart problem.
Common symptoms of a heart problem can include:
âą Pitting edema in the lower legs
âą Getting out of breath easily (especially during exercise or going up a hill)
âą Fatigue

âą Chest pain
Unexpected signs of heart disease:
1. High blood pressure
2. Coughing
3. Signs of dementia
4. Low urine output
5. Difficulty breathing while lying flat
6. Awakening from sleep gasping for air
How to support your heart and help prevent heart disease:
1. Take a mid-day nap (get plenty of sleep)
2. Take vitamin E (tocotrienols)
3. Consume vitamin K2 (fatty foods)
4. Get on a low-carb diet (try Healthy Keto)

I had high blood pressure.... I started keto diet last year & donât have high blood pressure anymore ...120/80 đ đ
With the "new" BP standards, some doctors are calling 120/80 borderline highđ
@@megmodaff5989 haha...yeah Iâve heard about this.... I donât listen to medical doctors anymore ..fasting & keto saved my life...
Good Job Jay!, Really.
I'm 52, I am overweight "currently", I'm an old school Rocker/musician, I used to be a "Natural" bodybuilder throughout the 80's & 90's, alot of times I was up to 300+ lbs or hovering around 250lbs., I'm 5'11"- 6', I stopped the heavy lifting, creatine loading, and junk food.
Still battling weekly Whiskey drinking, with protégé/friends like the Abbott Bros from the band Pantera, and other Rockers and cowboys I've been around, it kinda molds a character, especially when writing songs.
I'm working on it.
Done keto 4 yrs back after a double hip surgery, went from 283lbs, down to 208 in only
3 1/2 mos, doctor said I didn't need blood pressure pills nomore "at that time", now I have battled Depression & Anxiety for years and am doing the Keto diet again as I text this.
Problem is, maybe you can help or the doctor on this video, how do you know how much to actually "workout" while on the Keto diet?.
I honestly haven't worked out in a gym like I used to, for over a year and a half, I'm 60% weaker, I feel fatigued easily.
I work in a warehouse moving daily m-f, I get up at 3:45am and work til' 3pm usually, sometimes longer.
I've been prepping vegetables w/chicken or salmon, I DO have a banana in the morning and a C4 energy drink w/no sugar, lunches are salmon in a salad usually or scrambled eggs w/spinach and avocados all week, except my "reward day" where I eat some oatmeal and blueberries "on that one day", maybe even have a michelob lite beer or 3 at the most.
Any help, advice or suggestions you can give..would be extremely helpful and of high Thankfulness.
Keep Rockin' it!

Thank you Sir! 70 years old been coughing for a few years, borderline High BP. Started cutting back on carbs 9 months ago after watching your vids. Lost 25 lbs slowly. Cough went away. Inflammation and joint pain gone. Haven't felt this good in decades. Now if I could just get my eyesight and hearing back. hehehehe. always something. Thanks for what your doing.
Eyesight and hearing are tricky. But I wouldn't be surprised if your current actions are keeping them from worsening.

We're you having too many carbs before? I know what my recommended carbohydrate grams are per day (I had a body scan and went to a nutritionist) but don't follow it at the moment.
A few hours before I had a heart attach , all my teeth hurt . Never any chest pain no arm pain . That was 3 years ago at age 70 . I drop off 55 pounds . And never eat fast food . During this time I became friends with a fellow from Napal . He's a Buddhist . He turned me on to a lot of food that change me for ever .
For those who are ill for other purposes, don't be afraid, paranoid, and scared because this could also be other diseases or underlying diseases. I have fatigue, shortness of breath because I just realized I have anemia(low-iron) also this could be having a Covid or flue. Most diseases have the same symptoms.
Dig the beard. I have been fighting my slowly raising high blood pressure and these weird heart palpitations that started when I got the C virus some 6 months ago. My Drs have been telling me that everything looks fine and will all the way to my early grave... Thankful for all the team members that help put these videos out because especially the diet advice is helping me feel so much better.
My dad passed away from heart disease at only 47 years old. Thank you Dr. Eric Berg.
So sorry. Wish I could warn everyone earlier so they can save themselves.
Sleep is everything! For heart and depression. I was on antidepressants and then I watched one of your depression topics and you said sleep is important. Well I wasn't sleeping good. So I addressed that, and went off antidepressants. Thank you for always having such good information that we can't get from our doctors!
My mom-in-law was on blood pressure meds for many years. She recently got diagnosed for Type 2 Diabetes. I got her onto Keto and that reversed the Diabetes. I also told her to stop the BP meds. Guess what- no high BP anymore
My father died from heart failure, his dad had it and his uncle. I remember him sleeping on a chair at night before he was diagnosed, he also developed dementia. He was always so afraid of doctors. He loved his daily naps. These videos are so helpful and educational đđ
You're rocking that beard Dr. Berg! If you go get a leather jacket and a Harley, we know you're going through a mid-life crisis. Lol. So many of my problems have cleared up with Keto and IF. Though I just turned 60, I feel like I am 25. I weigh the same now as in middle school.
You did it! Keto is the reason why i have a 6 pack. I'm 32.

My husband has congestive heart failure at the age of 53. Before we knew this, he would have these "spells" off and on where his mind was not right and he was afraid he had dementia. When his heart was really weakened, he would have hallucinations and confusion. In hindsight I am sure they were all connected to his heart disease. This is a very valuable video - thank you!

SIR WHAT TO
DO FOR
CONGESTIVE HEART FAILURE.
Hawthorne berry might help . Do some research on that. Also, I read something about a six month protocol of using a version of niacin that specifically causes the burning flush in order to expand the capillaries and help clear out your circulatory system even out to the tiny fine veins in you skin, and at your extremities. Again, you'd need to do some more research for yourself, but those are starting points.

Iâm someone that unfortunately suffers from heart disease since 2012. The unexpected condition of meningitis combined with endocarditis from the high fever of meningitis left me with a pacemaker, a patch to fill in the hole in my heart and mechanical valve. All from catching meningitis. Iâve just completed me third angiogram and the doc says everything seems fine and clear but he recommended I take Lipitor. Now if the test was clear, why would I take this medication ? Right ? Considering all the side effects as well. I made the decision not to and to stick to a fruit abs vegetable diet instead. Also, to follow any good recommendations that the good Dr. Berg has . Any other suggestions ?

Hey doc, so I have heard of 'reverse epidemiology' and/or the obesity paradox. I have also read numerous blogs over the years where people complain that their mom or grand mom don't want to take their BP medication and they are in their 90s. Question : How can we know that a somewhat elevated BP can be life saving as opposed to being detrimental?
2nd month of 24 hrs (& sometimes 48 hrs) intermittent fasting. I feel and look incredible. Thank you Dr Berg. đ
P.S I'm watching this video just because Dr Berg uploaded it đ
Itâs not as hard as people make it seem
Does that mean you only take water for 24/48 hours and nothing else?
@@batra204 what they are doing is fasting. But "intermittent fasting" is much easier. Also called time restricted eating. You choose a small window of time in your day to eat and fast the rest of the time. OMAD is done along with the intermittent fasting by a lot of ppl. When I started OMAD and intermittent fasting I realized it's my natural way of eating and it was simple. Some ppl find it difficult
What do you mean by OMAD?â@@megmodaff5989

Acknowledging the treasure trove of comments under your videos. You have quite a collection of stories, hints and human efforts. P.S. I'll be watching this video again and again but I only get to give it one thumbs up.
I sometimes wake up gasping for air but I think it has something to do with post nasal drip or maybe acid reflux since it only happens if I drink a lot or eat before sleeping, which I've stopped doing. I would wake up coughing and can't really breathe.
Me too. It's definitely from acid reflux. I stopped eating so late and cut out dairy (which produces alot of mucus) and it helped alot! Plus a acid reflux hot tea before bed helped too!
Yes me too, my sinuses are always clogged. When lying down I can feel my sinuses start to do their annoying thing. I have tried that sinus rinse, and it does alleviate some of the congestion.
Apple cider vinegar helps me, I take it about an hour before bed. Plus I watch that I donât eat a lot of chicken which is loaded with omega6, which causes inflammation if you have too much omega6 in your system.
So let me get this straight: The issue is never the issue! The body is systemic, not just a collection of independant parts. A symptom isn't just an ailment, it points to a bigger problem.
Your videos are so very helpful, I lost nearly 30 pounds in two months following your diet advice. I'm maintaining around 162# fairly easily. (I was down to 156#, but that was on a "Noro virus" diet for a week.) I actually was able to fit into my 1987 BDU uniform from when I was in the Army back then. It was tight around the waist and chest, but I could still button it. Strangely, the sleeves were a bit short. A lifetime of pushups, and my chest and shoulders are broader now. (We used to ask the question back then: "Do you want a medal, or a chest to pin it on?") I don't know anyone who can even begin to fasten their uniform from 35 years ago.
Edit: I'm 5'11".
Thank you Dr berg! I really enjoy gaining knowledge from you videos!
