I believed Lisa Marie felt he was the only one who would understand the type of iconic fame Elvis went through which in turn affected her life. Think about Elvis and Michael. They both reached an iconic level of fame. Elvis as a solo artist was first. He had no blueprint to follow. One lived in Graceland, other in Neverland. Both had pet chimpanzees. Both suffered from ailments & took in Elvis’s case prescription drugs by several Drs. Michael also suffered from insomnia as Elvis did since childhood, plus he sleep walked. Both were soo talented, the fame caused them to become more reclusive as time went by. Whitney Houston once said” the success is great, it’s the fame that kills you”. & her life tragically ended when she was way too young. Who would understand better all this entailed then Michael Jackson? She mentioned in an interview that she had really cared for Michael & that was a facade he put on over his real self who she stated spoke normally and they were also great friends. He treated her children with respect and after they broke up, down the road they stayed close friends. When he passed away, she said it affected her tremendously. She felt she was always losing a loved one at a young age. Later of course, she tragically lost her beloved son Ben, in which I’m not sure she ever recovered from. She was finally starting to come out in the open because of the ELVIS 2022 movie. She became very close & protective of Austin Butler and he developed a deep friendship with her. She helped him with the loss of his mom by being a protective mother figure & he helped her with the loss of her son. I really believe in my heart if she had lived, this would have been a great healing relationship. She said he was the only one who had portrayed her dad so spot on & she was so happy about it. Now Lisa is gone too. That’s a loss of such magnitude that he was devastated by it and her children now have to endure another loss. Since I’ve been alive they’ve lost 5 generations. The Grandmother, Elvis’s parents, his own death, his daughter and his only grandson. It seems many of those that reach such an iconic level of fame don’t do well with longevity. Whitney Houston’s quote was right on. Her mom sung for Elvis and she cared for him deeply & witnessed all he went through just to go through it all again with her own daughter. Michael also died at the hands of a Drs. care. So many others too. We miss them all. The talent we’ve lost that we would have witnessed for yrs to come is tragic. Not sure- he wanted kids badly, had fertility issues but she already had two kids and not being sure the marriage would last did not want to get into a custody battle with Michael Jackson.
It is real because after the divorce they spent another 4 yrs together😊 and I feel that there really in love each other, it just sad that things really didn't work out😢
