This was my Megatron toy as a kid and I really liked it, despite his problems. From the perspective of a child playing with toys, Megatron was more fun to actually play with than ROTF Prime, largely because of his simpler transformation, and his big cannon arn added a lot of play value as well. I enjoyed both toys a lot growing up and playing with them, yet always find myself more fondly remembering Megatron.
Same here, got that version of Megatron and always loved it ever since. I just loved the movie 2 design of him

Mine's leg wouldn't lock in during tank mode, so I had a huge love/hate thing woth it as a kid. It was fun though having this massive heavy lump of plastic
loved the look but Optimus was so much better even as a kid, the limitations were just too much with Megs, and I never found optimus that hard to transform
Now I know what arm he uses when he has fun.đ
I honestly love the weird proportions of this guy. It really made it feel like Megatron was put back together using fallen Decepticons and I love it. I also think this figure's tank mode is better than the one he had in the actual movie. I plan on getting the Shadow Command one at some point.

I think this figure needed to be in a different wave entirely from the other ROTF leaders to get the budget to be done right
They spent all their money making Leader Class Optimus Prime and forgot that they had to make a Megatron too.
I think this is my favorite of your videos. I love the nonstop roasting session at the beginning and I loved every time you cut back to spamming his gimmick
I miss some modern leader class figures having ratchet joints no loose joints in the future and *I'm just a sucker for clicking joints when you move the joint*
I had this toy as a kid and broke it so I had to return it when I was in the Walmart return line I was still playing with it and I said I will buy u again when I am older so I did that and I will always love this megatron even if thereâs better ones đą

i replaced my Rotf movie Megatron with the MPM 07 one and iâm so happy i did, the figure looks so bad but itâs the one i wanted as a little kid so thatâs why i still like him and have him

Had the Shadow version and the Voyager. Think I spent the better half of a decade gaslighting myself saying itâs the better toy. Love the sound abuse gag. My cannon arm connection was pretty good and never fell off. The side things are actually thrusters.

Happy that you have a newer review of this figure. I never had him as a kid. I only had Prime and Jetfire. I got the Shadow Command variant and I had no clue how to transform the arm because eBay and no instructions. Love the reviews man

2007 Leader class Optimus & Megatron, RotF Leader class Megatron & Jetfire (Optimus & HftD Starscream ate up the bulk of the budget...), DotM Leader class Ironhide & Bumblebee AoE Leader class First Edition & Regular Optimus (the only version of the mold worth gettin' is Takara's Knight Optimus Prime) and Grimlock...yeah, there were some complete turds across the lines.
The only reason one would get this is for nostalgia. With the amount of movie accurate KO/3p/4p making their own oversized version of the studio series and even ko oversize version of the MP one, those make this toy obsolete. You can keep this in tank mode so with OP, if you are tight with cash and not want 2 versions of the KO ones.
This was the leader megatron i got at my community warehouse Christmas give out. I later asked my family member to get me leader optimus prime keeping them in alternate forms. While I appreciate the one my family member got me i do want the blades one.

It's not Great, but at the same time it's an old movie figure so it's nostalgic and has it's charm
I've recently ordered this yes he has very big flaws but I've always watched the old rotf toy commercials and I always see this Megatron as such he's my Holy grail
I bought the KO of Dark Energon ROTF Megatron. It came with an upgraded left arm and I bought the GOD PJ-01 purple upgrade for the right. Every joint was loose out of the box and no amount of screw tightening would help. A few drops of Kiki later and it's perfect. Never have I had such a huge improvement using the white stuff. I really like it, plus my cat adores using the pointy bits to scratch her cheek.
The heels DO lock in
There should be a few kits out there that give this version of ROTF Megatron a proper left arm along with his murder arm, but at this point it'd be better to remake the dank ferrik from scratch!
This is one of the best megatron toys ever. The transformation is endlessly fun and the level of detail is awesome

Is not too bad, yes, is easy to forget that was a good figure back on its day, add a custom arm, some paint touch ups and you have a good original figure, if you have the money get the 3rd party figure.

Honestly the 'nothing' transformation people complain about it dumb. No offense but it's an alien design and Megatron despised humans so he wouldn't really get an earth alt mode.
The toys are actually accurate to the movie with the visible head
Here a year later, after beiwei released a 20$ ROTF Megs that blows all others away. I actually have something similar to the megs in the review except it makes no noise and basically has the whole jet mode on the back

Never realized how his alt mode aestheticly reminds me of ID4.... til now.
Ages ago I got a deal on three of the four revenge of the fallen leader class figures, a jetfire with missing jet mode panels and cane, a hunt for the decepticons battle hooks Optimus that perplexingly came with 'some' of the default leaders parts but not enough so I could modify it to the plain deco. And the biggest oddball of them all was a Megatron with busted electronics that would blink constantly until I removed the batteries, but it had the alien attack arm upgrade kit in the wrong color scheme, being silver and dark red on a plain gray figure, both were swapped out, the old big arm being left in the box and the little arm completely missing, the little arm has articulated elbow and fingers, with all sorts of edges that are wicked sharp where is the big arm has the movie accurate Cannon sword amalgamation, or alternatively a giant less detailed forearm with a + shaped claw, which I guess is supposed to resemble a giant functional version of the cannon tip on the toy
