Robert Durst stands trial for the 2000 murder of friend Susan Berman. The trial began just before the pandemic in early 2020 and was halted two weeks in. The restart happened May 17, 2021, with the same jury panel.
The defendant’s wife Kathleen McCormack Durst went missing in 1982. Evidence and testimony would show that Robert Durst killed her, the prosecutor said. The defendant allegedly told Berman it was an accident and asked her for help. She served as his alibi.
Berman, 55, was shot execution-style at her Beverly Hills home in 2000, and the prosecution suggested that it was because of what she knew about Kathleen’s death and disappearance. As defense lawyer Dick DeGuerin would have it, however, Durst is innocent. His client only came across the body, panicked, and fled, he maintained.

Mad respects to Laraine for finally coming forward with her information. Better late than never, and I totally get how difficult this must be for a celebrity. None of us wants our dirty laundry public, and yet here she is. Bravo, Laraine Newman!
The defense attorney is a slime ball….just like his client. Laraine did great. You can tell she is being scrupulously honest unlike the murderer who is on trial

Dear Mr. Judge, I ever will prefer an addicted woman words comparing with a killer with a great name. About addictions, they are a lot, seen or not in public. I respect Mr. Newman and i never will judge her. I judge the drugs dealers, yes, but ever people like she, working hard and under pressure. Great Lady, very clear testimony! ❤️

What a great witness! Seems humble, honest, funny. Way to show up Laraine! A very courageous thing to do. Of course it helps now that scary man is a little baby bird in a LA wheelchair. But still. She's a great representation of people in recovery.

She knew about a probable Murder and Missing person but Did Nothing only Continue to take Drugs and she's highly educated !!

This is one of the longest trials ever. By the time its done Durst will be dead and buried just like SNL.

I think it's important to the families to help get some closure. I doubt he'll live through it either, but I say go forward. It's important he take responsibility.

Glad the highly paid lawyer did not outmart this witness. So very glad. Hearing this after September 17, 2021, it would be interesting to hear what the jurors thought of each witness or about this self righteous lawyer. So very interesting.
God, I thought Laraine Newman passed away years ago. Obviously, she’s alive and kicking.
She has been working steadily since SNL. She does voice work. We haven't seen her but we've probably heard her.

Studied the case ...taken me months to go up to now....I like two sides, but defence ...playing with words, but not that clever! The Judge at first seemed law by the book, which slowed thing, and stopped the flow of witnesses, just to speak as open a possible, its a hard complicated case within law ..Got my view to sway on! At min defences are not swaying me!
Listening this after September 17, 2021. Guilty! Ugly profession to earn your living preventing justice from being served. - “ Is that correct? Correct?” It is not the words but the tone of his voice. As if saying…’I know. I am boss.’ “ - you have trouble remembering conversations you had a few weeks ago…” Slime ball, said somewhere here.
