Most Euro based dual nats for the USMNT have been shell shocked by it. Whenever the camera showed Folarin on the bench he even looked relieved that he went out in the last game. Not angry that he was taken out of the game.
Fast pass in the midfield third and only dribble when you attack the box in the offensive third. Otherwise you get taken out or the space for passing is shut down immediately. Defenders will always get the man if the don't get the ball.

Yes, the Venezuelan goal was coming directly from a Canadian throw in. In my opinion, that is exactly why a lot of players were out of position & why Bombito was out of kilter too, because on that throw in, the Venezuelan keeper strangely went to the sideline & directly interfered with the Canadian player making the throw in! That should have been a yellow card & most of the players & Jesse Marsch looked flabbergasted that it was not a yellow & the goal came right off of that situation & that terrible Reffing decision, or non-decision...

The refereeing wasn't terrible. This is what CONMEBOL refereeing is like. The referees will try to avoid giving yellows and reds as much as they possibly can but they are okay with giving fouls and free kicks. CONCACAF and UEFA region refereeing have their own quirks too. Here's the big point I'm trying to make. The referees will be refereeing like this for the rest of the tournament. It's up to all teams to live with it and adjust accordingly.

@@jrcanuck1 I agree that some if not many decisions haven't been right. And in fact, those issues can be addressed over the long term with CONMEBOL and/or FIFA and/or CONCACAF. However, for the near term, i.e., for this tournament, CanMT has to persist through the bad decisions and play through them. If they let the refereeing get to them emotionally then they will indeed lose. It is imperative Canada does not mentally check out and the good news, from what we see so far, they have indeed been mentally tough while enduring all the refereeing crap.

As it is rondon got the better of Bombito and the ball. A conservative coach would of had his goalie in the wickets. Think of all the huge save Max had against Argentina because he came out and challenged. The others are expecting Max to have foresight and to read the play before it’s happened.
