- How you can get the Hen Gaidth Armor, even if you're doing the Beyond Hill and Dale quest in the Fairy Land aka. The Land of a Thousand Fables. The Hen Gaidth Armor is one of the sickest Armor sets in The Witcher 3 and now you can get it even with a good ending and all of the items from the Fairy Tale Land.
All done in only vanilla, no mods or console commands needed, a blessing for every console player!

If you have problems following where you need to go, well first of all sorry for not showing it really well in this video... But I made another one that shows the exact path you need to take - I hope this helps: czcams.com/video/TGxLpxC9bCI/video.html
To follow the path it is best to first pin the location that you want to go using the map marker and then when you escape fairy tale land you simply follow the green marker.
No disrespect but you not having the clear path in this video and me jumping between this and your pinned video I didn't know I couldn't grab the gauntlet and sword first and now have to reload after wasting 2 hours traveling
If Geralt acquires the key to the Unseen Elder's cave, then rescues Syanna. He can still open the cave and retrieve the Hen Gaidth Sword and Gauntlets without clipping through the floor.
Did this before meeting Syanna and had no access to Roach... Yes it was painful. Also props for covering the screen at the part where you show where to jump to get out at 1:18. Brilliant.
This 100% worked for me. The pinned video was also helpful. Coming back from the cave and taking that leap of faith along the black wall was badass!
Make sure that before attempting to escape and while still in toussant, place a green marker to your destination so that you can easily follow.

I have uploaded 2 videos about a year ago related about this too but still using some mods.
because back then I can't figure out to combine these 2 major glitches (the land of a thousand fables and passing the outer cave of the elder)
I discovered how to do this years ago and just kept putting off making my own video on it; only difference is the cave I used to get under the map, everything else is almost exactly the same, it's kind of uncanny. But your video is much better than mine would have turned out I'm sure ;)

Tysvm, just did it on my next gen update playthrough and it worked. One thing I have to say, the video is edited horribly for someone trying to follow the exact steps, since you kinda have to. There’s cuts at crucial points that’s a pain when trying to look at my phone then back at the screen to see if I am in the correct position. Not only that, but next time plz up your recording’s exposure, or lower contrast, or play during the day cycle. There’s portions where light is obviously not intended or needed by the devs, and everything is already difficult to parse. Nevertheless, great vid
A tip for anyone attempting: to make sure you’re still able to return to the Land of a Thousand Fables to continue the story, listen to the music. If you are still hearing the Thousand Fables theme then you can return, however if you’ve trigged the normal ambient Toussaint music you’ve moved to close to Beauclaire and have triggered the works borders preventing you from returning to the main quest.

Another method to escaping 1000 fables was to call roach and go to the border wall. Make sure that he faces the wall. Then get off and hit Quen. Immediately after that you press A button on Xbox to mount roach. As he begins to run from fear, he will take you right through the wall. This can be done anywhere along the wall. It was successful in my first attempt.
This is great for players on *console* who don't have access to the *console*
I got killed by the Elder in a second because I didn’t know he would still appear, that was scary!
it's quite amazing if I to say, but for the first part, which is your last part of the video now at 7:31 you can actually choose to do Orianna's Mission take her key and proceed normally, before going to the unseen elder you will find yourself choosing you are firm on your Opinion or you would take Regis idea by finding Syanna, he will ask you if you are sure or not, at least when you do the thousand fabels you make sure to get the best ending and with the glitch, you will also get the best equipment...

how do you breathe under water tho?? lol i cant find a potion or console command or whatever you guys are using to swim underwater without drowning??
@@GeraltOfRivia99He used a cheat to swim and don't use the console to get the hen gaidth armor set 😂.
for the steel sword and gauntlet, if you did blood simple quest and got the stone key beforehand, you can just open the cave door with it and grab them. saves a lot of time compared to doing the glitch again.
also i tried doing the glitch from the land of fables to toussaint then entered the cave with the key, turns out the cutscene will still trigger and the unseen elder kills you. so for the rest of the armor, the swimming glitch is required.
this glitch world is the true Land of a Thousand Fables

So I got an idea after watching this. Because Beyond HIll and Dale... actually starts before The Night of Long Fangs ends and you can do all but interact with the book before deciding to start What Lies Unseen, I thought it it theoretically possible to do both quests almost until the ends (that is, until you rejoin Regis). At the very least I wanted to see if acquiring Syanna's ribbon is possible while doing the Unseen quest, but unfortunately - no. :( Once you have to see Regis at the docks, trying to interact with the book does nothing, and if you go the long path into the Land of a Thousand Fables, no enemies or quest-related characters are there, including Syanna and the Little Flint Girl.
That's unfortunate, even tho this is a very interesting idea. I just think that pretty much always you can't do/interact with a quest that you're not actually doing, so when you start the Unseen Elder quest line, the other one gets unaccesible, therefore no characters or possible interactions etc. :(
Was finally able to go this but after more than 6 hours of trying to perfect my jumps out, trying to find my way back to the fairytale land after my leaving the unseen elder cave with no maps and backtracing your extra video, and trying to not drop down in the water wells after leaving the cave. I think i'll forget about the gloves and sword and just continue the story and save my last few remaining hairs

One little point here i would do the first half of what lies unseen get the key too the unseen elder cave then call Regis as he will attempt too change YOURE mind by doing this you now have the key too the cave so I would then do the glitch too get out of the land of 1000 fables and then do the prison underwater glitch and get the rest of the gear then leve the last chest or should I say the 1st chest in this case and till after you have completed the story quest because this part of the cave you can still get the gauntlets and the steel sword without meeting your untimely death by the unseen elder
True, this is an even better way to get the first chest in the cave. Getting the key first makes the last part wayy easier, so this is how you best do it!
Even without the key, you don't have to be in the Land of a Thousand Fables to get there. I don't remember the exact spot, but you can swim in/out from a place near the entrance.
That was a shitshow but it worked the second time, I did it 😅

Can you use this to stash all the items that disappear from your inventory when you leave through the well or will they still disappear when you leave? I know you can NG+ while still there and keep them that way, but I'd like to able to finish the story and keep them at the same time... Idk why but I like to keep stuff like that in my stash as momento's lol. I'm probably going to try it just to see though.
Did you ever figure out if this is possible or not? I'm a collector too lol and I'd like to know, it's always bothered me that the items disappear after you leave.
Dude you just cut through all of the important sections. How are we supposed to know where to go after you jump up the mountain in the Fairy Tail area?
I realised too late that this might be a problem, so sorry kinda my bad. Let me try to explain it, once you're out of the Fairy Tale Land just walk onto the hill from where you can overlook it. There you should see a castle all the way on the other side, that's the direction you need to go. Either ride around the huge mountain right next to you or go the other way around, but to get back into the map you need to go past that castle and keep riding into that direction. Also from the castle you can see Beauclair and the rest of the map. I hope this helps you out :)

After an hour of walking and climbing mountains i finally found my way back to toussaint. I wish i marked the elder cave before I started the fairy tale land haha now im trying to find the way into the cave itself.
@@dondoraemon6090 I had the same issue. I didn't manage to find it at all. But I spent hours in the city and had fun killing vampires and exploring there before going back to fairy tale land. You can even go back to the room, Regis still waiting for you, but nothing is interactable. You see some really cool things, I made a note on all the oddities I discovered while exploring.

Greaaaaaaaaart news : the gold Toussaint armor can be bought in the Grandmaster store on the last update. So you dont need to to exhaust yourself anymore
Is there a specific time whwn you attempt escaping the fairytale land? Can it be done immediately once you enter it or sometime later?
I think you should be able to do it immediately, but I mostly did it after I fought the witch, which is where you meet Syanna too
Geralt can anytime come out to this universe.
this works on 4.02 if you quen horse and try to mount...keep playing around the horse will propel you back into the land of 1000 fables...took me forever to figure out.

Problem is you find the armours bit too late into the game
Man I agree ... by the time you get all this bad ass stuff ... there is nothing left to do. I'm glad they are making a Witcher 4 as I post this.
So when you get to the fabled land where do you go inside there cause I couldn't find the bridge you jumped at the beginning of the vid and do you get the touasaint armor before going threw the glitch or do you get the armor from the unseen elders cave 1st and go back to beyond hill and Dale?
So the bridge should be all the way at the beginning where you start the quest in the land of the thousand fables. And it does not really matter when you get the toussaint armor set since you need to go back into the land of a thousand fables anyways to finish the story, you can get it either before doing the glitch or after, doesnt matter
@@plaiimade yes I found the spot to glitch out of but since I couldn't look at the map I couldn't figure out where to go once your back out on the map.i kept running around and some structures that you can run threw but I couldn't find the prison it was just open space.i can't tell from the video where you slide down from and what way to run afterwards.i don't even know you got a horse cause it wouldn't let me call roach and I saw no people.any idea?
@@ryanperry7575 I have no idea why you can't call Roach, I always could do that, so I don't really know what wrong there. But for the other problem maybe check out the video I linked in the pinned comment, there I show the whole path were to go, I hope you'll find it like this :)
One important detail though, why don't you drown? A killer whale potion will make your breath be left on 25% when you glitch yourself underneath the map. Then you still have to swim all the way.
Or does being linked to the land of a thousand fables make you unable to drown?
No it doesn't but after you swim through the cave and reach the point where you are under the prison, you are able to breathe agian. It is not like you are underwater all of the time, as you can also see in the animation. Geralt does a swim animation not actually diving animations as he would under water, so even if you are under the ground all the time you are not always under water, since you can swim on top of it

@@plaiimade I was trying your method after beating those quests. I swim to glitch myself out of the underwater prison which all works, but then soon after i drown. I was actually confused that your video didn't contain any underwater breathing bar? Hence my question, maybe the land of fables gives you that ability?
P.S. If i try to go to the surface after glitching myself, it just turns it all to normal, undoing my progress. Which seems you need to stay underwater. Still I don't understand how your screen doesn't show an underwater breathing bar.
@@Bassywassy20 hm🤔🤯 I'm sorry but I am really confused myself why this is happening to you. Now I've down this glitch many other times, you can also see it in the video I've mentionned in the pinned comment on this video or in my video "Locations you can reach even though you are not supposed to - Part 3". In those two videos you can also see the breathing bar because I didn't deactivate the hud like in this one. Maybe try to watch those videos and see if you're doing anything differently then I am, because tbh I habe no idea whats going on🫠

I finished the game with a good ending, but when I come to the part here 2:46 , it says you have reached the limit of the map and does not allow progress. so I can only access the first part of the cave.:((

Not really, what I meant was you can us a sensible map border mod to get into the cave, without having to leave the Land of a Thousand Fables first.
Another simple solution would be to download the console enabler mod. If you want to use the ingame console, there should be commands that just give you the parts of the Hen Gaidth armor. Just google it and I‘m sure you‘ll find it easliy

You think you can get from upside down part to the other with the mages notes and sword?
Is it possible to get the Hen G set whenever you want with this glitch? I got both toussiant and Hen G from this video (thanks) at level 53, now I'm 55 and got the Hen G Sword and gauntlets @ level 55, but now I'm wondering if I could have waited and got the entire Hen G set at level 55? Or does the land of fables and Hen G set have to occur at the same time? (minus the sword and gauntlets)
You just have to do this glitch while beeing in the Land of a thousand Fables quest, otherwise there will be a world border preventing you from getting all the way into the cave. But ofc you can work around it with mods, but without mods I don't think it's possible outside of the quest

if i got both vampire armors in my first playthrough and in ng+ now i wanna do the Fables Land Quest does the Armor not upgrade because i saw that my Knight Toussaint Sword i used i cant use anymore until lvl 92 it randomly upgrade i think that got fixed mabey so you dont need to do that because you can get both via 2 Playthroughs mabey im wrong..

We don't have access to the map in the quest are there any videos where the complete path is shown? I don't know how to get to the elder's cave when i go under water
Unfortunately I don't know of any videos, but I'll try to explain it a bit better:
Basically you need to get to the big lake that is next to the city Beauclair. Just memorize in which direction Beauclair is and then swim that way. Once you get to the lake just swim around it and you'll find the cave on the opposite side of Beauclair. Now the water level of the lake is higher then where you start, so at one point you'll need to swim up to the water level of the lake. So if find yourself to be suddenly under water just keep swimming forwards and upwards.

I‘m a little bit stuck after the invisible barrier. Maybe I‘m dumb but how exactly do you get back to the prison from there? I don‘t know where to dive up and constantly fall out of the map. You can‘t reload in the water either because you fall out of the map instantly. Can anyone help?

But where do you go after jumping down the hill? You looked at goldilocks tower then turned around but the edit went straight to you riding on the woods.
I went around the big mountain right next to me, then to the trees. In general you need to go around the Land of a Thousand Fables and then ride into the direction of this castle you see in the distance, when I was looking at goldilocks tower. If you go this way you'll get back to the normal map

@@trepapi6539 Yeah there are some invisible barriers around, you just need to find a way around them. I think the easiest one is just to ride all the way around the huge mountain, but there might be other ways. Find one that works best for you!

You can get back into the Land of a Thousand Fables the same way you left it. Just ride around the huge mountain to end up on the same hill where you left it then try to climb up that rock and you should be able to get in right there. If you don't know where it is, check out the linked video I mentionned in the pinned comment, you can see right there where I start of thats the spot you want to go to. Thanks for video but this video doesn't explain how can we go there with swimming. All ways take me up the land. What will I do?
You need to watch out that you don't swim to close to the ground texture, otherwise you'll glitch back up. Sometimes when you're underwater you don't really see where it is, so just make sure to never get to close to it. Then also look forward to choose a good path where there is enough room between the ground and water. Like this it should hopefully work... If you still have any problems just comment again and I'll try to help!!

I near future I probably won't do a video like this, because this has already been covered many times... However this is good news for you! I would recommend to just search "the witcher 3 how to install mods" on CZcams and you'll find really good videos explaining it in a very simple and clear way. Where to find locations characters after beat the game
Sort of depends on your ending. With a good ending you can find Anna and Damien in the Palace. Also depending on your choices you can also find Guillaume and Vivienne in the palace. But a lot of people also disappear, for example Regis or Orianna

Feel free to ask if a path that I took is unclear, maybe I can help you. But sadly the minimap is deactivated while doing this quest so you need to rely on your navigating skills alone...
@@plaiimade you mean the main map not the mini map but what have found out is this The only thing I can think of is putting a pin on the place of power befor going too the land of a thousand fables that way you break out you have a marker on the mini map too go after the prison I did this on a video were I still had the mini map but was on the other side of the Mountains that was fun only problem for was the out of bounce area became the playing area and the playing area became the out of bounce area

Did not work in Nintendo Switch. There are some aurora's barrier around fairy tale land

When I try to climb the mountain there is a invisible barrier there
There are a lot of invisible barriers around that area, however if you follow the exact same path I show in the video it should hopefully work. Otherwise try to go around the mountain and the barrier. Hope this helps

Buddy figuring this out is a pain, what's the point of putting up a video if you wilp just skip to the main part. How in the world am I supposed to know what to do in between? it took me an hour to find the prison in itself as this video didn't show how to get there. Now I'm stuck in the prison cave as I'm not being able to get into that gap which allows you to swim wherever! how do I get past this and then where's the way to the elders cave? c'mon man you vouldve shown the ways as well

Cool tutorial, but sorry to say, it sucks. You don’t really explain how to do things, you just tell us what to do and expect us to do it. We have to try to follow your footsteps, but some steps we need to see how you did it. I’m not saying you’re a bad youtuber or that your videos suck, I’m just saying that you should explain things again in this video instead of making us do a cat and mouse chase through your videos on how to try and do these things.

But isn't Wolven armour the most bad ass looking armour in the game compared to toussant armours? I have glasses grandmaster wolven, short hair on geralt and a red hood on with a cape and he looks absolutely sick.

Yeah realised too late that I should have taken more time to show everything, sry bout that. Maybe if you build up some knowledge about the general Toussaint map you can understand a bit better where you need to go...
