Done.
Very good
That was fabulous, Jake! What a coup to get together with the the heart of Many Saints. I'm from Jersey, I "tawk" like it, and I still cannot think of James Gandolfini without crying. I went to bed dreaming about it on opening night. I was thrilled to see locales in Jersey I know so well. You were a gushing fan and it really showed. Great questions. It's hard to impress David Chase lol! Bravo.
Just when I think my Sopranos addiction is ending..... THEY PULL ME BACK IN !!
For real
For realll haha
🙏🏽😅
It never ends. I saw it live every Sunday as a young adult, and I still get through the whole series at least every two years. This movie continuously getting bumped further and further drive made me so angry!
Very Nice Nod to the Godfather III and later Silvios impression of Michael Corleone
David Chase seems so shocked and proud of Jimmy Gandolfini having a secret room to study his lines and work on his acting. He genuinely didn’t know that.
Genuinely hope this show lives up to the legacy of The Sorpanos. Wishing the best for Michael, for him to do this would have required an immense amount of maturity and respect
@Judgy Judgerton movie Junya It’s tv progrumm
It's really good and if you're a fan of Sopranos then you'll like the film. There's a lot of fan service in the film, sometimes to the point of being cheesy, but the film was a mixture of serious and humour and so it's true to that. Just don't go into it thinking it will be a story about Tony
Don’t go with high expectations not every mafia movie has to be like casino or godfather. I say appreciate the movie for what it is, not what you want it to be
The movie is nowhere near being on the same level of the show. I hope that Michael moves on from this and gets to be his own person and actor instead of James Gandolfini’s son.
@2:13. David Chase's mind is blown. James Gandolfini had a secret room where he practiced being Tony Soprano.
My favorite part of this interview is seeing Chase genuinely intrigued & smiling (doesn’t happen often) when Michael talks about his dad. Almost like Chase was/is so intrigued by James/Tony & wants to know EVERYTHING about him. Chase 100% respects & is grateful for the Gandolfini’s ‼️
Portraying the sociopathic aspects of Tony really troubled James Gandolfini. You can see this and learn about it in various interviews. I think living that role for years took an emotional toll on him. It makes perfect sense, and is a tribute to how great a father he was that he did not show that to his son in any way.
@@Ofinfinitejest Well said
Remember when T showed his musclehead bodyguard some James Toney when he slammed the refrigerator door
I'm happy david found it within himself to make a movie before he passes on, no one else would ever touch the legacy of the show without his permission.
He seems pretty fucking good to me, why kill him before his time?
@@weasley2o13 lol
David said he’d be okay with Terrence Winter writing another movie or a miniseries without him
Can't wait to see this movie... Sopranos has so much deep subtext and still appeals to everyone.
Glad you noticed the subtext- the sacred and the propane
@@ThisIsCreation-FollowOnTwitter very allegorical
@@ThisIsCreation-FollowOnTwitter lol.... love that line
a film about a guy with a big mouth and even bigger dreams
Oh please, you never had the makings of a varsity athlete.
Watch Michael when Jake asks them about the ending of the Sopranos, he just clamed up and slid into his own world for a moment. It touched him very deep and it's so moving to see. And heartbreaking, in a way.
Did Chase crack a smile? Better edit that out.
Prozac is a helluva drug.
the king of breadsticks always wears a puss.
Commendatori!!
@@CharlieTooHuman Commendatori! Like commander, I like that. That’s respect!
He's known for his sense of humor. It is a shock to see him laugh though.
It's so strange to see James in his son. It's really like seeing young Tony
I can't wait! Great idea casting real son, he seems like a great kid.
the chairbaby of the board
the boy king!
He auditioned for the role, and beat out other actors. Nobody gave him anything.
He was incredible in the movie
Michael seems like a really great guy. I can't wait to see he'll do in the future.
Loved the film and I can't imagine anyone other then Michael Gandolfini playing a young Tony. It just works and it's right and kind of emotional thinking his dad must b really proud.
I love this! I’ve been following you for years now Jake, you never disappoint.
Good interview. I’m really looking forward to Many Saints.
Excellent interview! Really great questions that produced some really compelling Sopranos content!
Great interview! Looking forward to seeing it!
Alessandro Nivola was superb in this, superb acting
Back when the Sopranos was on the T.V., it was a happier time in my life.
Sundays were the best.
Back in 2002-2003 The Sopranos, The Wire and Oz were all playing on HBO simultaneously. They really set the standard for how great TV shows can be and stepped outside the box of the PG-13 procedural NBC cop dramas that ruled cable TV back then.
@@salbonpensiero3837 that era truly ushered in the golden age of TV we've been enjoying ever since.
The set a bar few TV shows have matched but they're definitely trying to emulate.
Right ! I miss those times
Who would’ve thought this man’s imagination would turn out to become possibly one of the BEST, if not THE BEST show about a day in the life of someone involved in mob life. This show is globally recognized as being a top favourite.
The thing I like about him is that he is so modest (yet a total genius) and has said that he didn’t even expect it to turn out to be what it is or what it became.
All the best to Michael and company. Looking forward to seeing this movie 🍿
it's about a guy with a big mouth and even bigger dreams
Yeah, a guy who was born, grew up, spent a few years in the army, a few more in the can, and here he is, a half a wise guy. So what?
I wish this was longer! Brilliant questions! Seeing the movie this Friday and I can't wait!
Nothing brilliant about asking the actor what Dickie might think.... The only answer is, "Whatever David Chase writes, is what is going to happen."
Nice! Can't wait until next week!
they better kick up to borko, up to borko
Borko is the new Sopranos uploader, and he ain't respectin' old copyright strikes.
This fuckin guy, we all know Don Junior is the new Sopranos uploader.
@@daddyt2837 Don junior?! Marone, Does he eats alone, He doesn't even pass the salt....
Thats amazing acting, to sound like that in real life, yet play a young Tony… who sounds just like him.
Wow, I never realized Michael was tall like his dad also.
Big fan of the Soprano's I watched it when it 1st came out, I bought the box set few yrs ago and watched it several times,I can't wait to go see this movie 🍿☺️
Great questions!
This movie was great. It answered so many questions and revealed that Tony was just pulled into the whirlpool. Like wow. Great great great.
I'm dying lol this is so cool ty!
You're talking to the boss of this family!
im only here outta respect for my fawthaw.
FYI: Quasimodo predicted all of this...
Tony:
NOSTRADAMUS!! NOSTRADAMUS!!
Quasimodo was from the hunch back of Notre Dame!
Bacala
Kind weird though you got the quarterback of Notre Dame, halfback of Notre Dame
LMAO
I had two alternate endings for the Sopranos…. 1. Tony and Carmella are old and he is sitting by her hospital bedside and her is telling her the truth….His Confessional so to speak… as to all of the things that he has done throughout the years both personally and in “business”…..hence this has all been Tony really telling this all to Carmella….This is the last story as now Carmella passes away and a Nurse comes in as it fades out slowly…
2. You hear the alarm sound and the Loud bang of the prison doors closing The guard screams Lights out as Tony wakes up from his dream… He has been in prison for a decade and Tony has been dreaming of his entire life and every path that he chose..
Chase said a long time ago, the Sopranos would never be a total dream sequence.
As a huge Sopranos fan I'm 100% in!
The Sopranos is my favorite show EVER! If I rate a show for being good I always compare it to the Sopranos because in my opinion The Sopranos set the standard. Best show in history.
I agree... I have seen every episode at least 20 times.
I'm really looking forward to this film!
UP IN DA CLUB!
Great questions
These questions were on point and they couldn’t answer them at all, you can see David Chase give the dude a look that tells him to circle around whatever he thinks
great questions
I knew the movie was going to give more clarity to what happened at the end. I knew it !
The ending was worth the 2 hours
Heres to David Chase, 🍸 Salute
Great movie & legendary show. David chase is genius.
Wow spitting image of your father you're going to do just fine in this business you got your pops genes good luck in the future kiddo,, soprano on🎥
I’m excited to see this movie
Just when i tought i was out! They pull me back in
Who’s playing Sal Iacuzzo from Yonkers?
So mad to think Michael is James’ actual son.
Perfect movie, saw it a few days ago
Loved the film. But definitely need more!
'How does this film make you look at the final moment of the Sopranos differently?'
Chase is too polite to say "it doesn't".
He must be pig sick of the questions regarding the ending.
I love how Michael Imperioli described the ending. He said its like reading a book. You finish the last chapter, close the book and that's it.
it looked like alessandro was revealing too much and david chase looked upset but maybe thats just me
I got that feeling too
An actor predicting what a character might say or do, is incredibly dumb... The only answer is, "Whatever David Chase says, is what is going to happen.."
Wow. I love how MG described fallen in Love w Tony
Come thru Michael’s shirt!
Hope for another movie now to do the next decades
🤣 David's giggle
Great interview, now go get your shinebox!
i always thought it wouldve been cool to see that guy in the members only jacket in the corner of tony with a gun pointed at him before it went black. But I do like the ending as it makes you wonder
Just watched it last night. Loved it, loved it. Im shamelessly addicted to the series and the characters.
🔥
Fantastic prequel and a great pilot for a new tv show........please?
Yes let's start a petition. Hopefully David Chase will listen. The guy is a genius.
Definitely can fit in one more movie to follow prequel plot. Maybe a love story.
Who would have thought Pollax Troy was Dickie Montansanti
Can’t even tie his own shoelaces
FUUUUUUUUUCK! You’ve just blown my mind! I just couldn’t place him. 👌🏻🤯👍🏻🙂
Dickie is a junkie, he pops those vivax like smints
@@tetsuoshima7385 same here🤯🤯
i love toe knee the prano
The only way to watch this in my country is to do illegally which is a shame they should have released it worldwide on streaming platforms
Oct 1, it will be streamed on HBO MAX... After a month or so, it will be on the other sites, Netflix, etc..
I will watch 'The Sopranos' after I watched this Movie.
Can't get enough of anything sopranos, I hope he don't end it for good here, because nobody else will touch this sht without him, maybe the movie will do so well he will have another sopranos type of brilliant idea
mikey g has some future what a good kid!!!!!!
I was surprised that it wasn’t a lead into a series? It seemed like it ended too soon.
Give it to Jake to come up with the best questions
that shirt is something...
Who'd a thunk? Al Nivola does a pretty good mobster.
Haven't watched the movie but look at 1:11 michael's expression looks just like his father's
Are you confirming that it’s a good movie 😏
Bomber I can hope and dream Cana
WHY DOES DAVID CHASE LOOK PISSED OFF ALL THE TIME? 😂
Chase is brilliant at TV but he has little respect for it - his heart is in movies, he seems to think cinema is 'superior' to television. Perhaps that's got something to do with it.
Cause he is
I think the reason may have slipped out during this interview. He mentioned he may have been depressed when he was writing the original Sopranos series. So my bet is he’s still somewhat depressed. After all, Livia was modeled after his own mother. 😳
@@tonybates7870 and the thing is, he ended up producing nearly 90, 1+ hour long movies that we got to enjoy every Sunday.
He raised the bar so high on the standard for TV shows that every show since has tried to emulate.
@@dub_dub1504
I couldn't wait for the next Sopranos episode, I loved the show. There's been a few TV dramas since that have been more or less as good in their own way (the obvious ones being the magnificent Breaking Bad and its brilliant spin off Better Call Saul) but for me nothing has actually surpassed the Sopranos - yet.
Should have been tv series
Chase has borrowed a shirt from Van Zandt
0:03
The Gandolfini is strong with this one
Think about it. The end of the third movie, Jackie Aprile says “god my stomach hurts”
The scenes in prison maybe weren't real!? Whaaat...
Didn’t know John Cuzak was related to James.
I get that a series of hundreds of times more work, but as a selfish fan, I’m so disappointed that this is not a series
Such a great series, such a disappointment of a movie. I never thought anything Sopranos could be this bad.
Dickie Moltisanti…. Whateva happened there…
Is that the guy from Jurassic park III
I said my piece Chrissy!
No way this doesn't suck.
this movie is gonna need a brogain adjustment
I haven't finished Sopranos. Thanks for the mayor spoiler. Thanks .
Lol then maybe don’t watch any videos related to it? I finished it recently for the first time and got a bunch of stuff spoiled
Dude it was last on in 2007, what the hell have you been doing?
Man, where I was living back then we didn't have HBO and now when I was into it during COVID I just got to anxious. I have to, I have to, I know man.
@@n.norbertoperez6593 the show made you anxious?
Didn't think the movie was great but, it did tell us Tony died at the end of the sopranos
Was the kid saying too much at the End?
This movie was not just a disappointment, it was terrible.
HBO absolutely screwed these guys over, however, I hope the movie does well.
It wanted to be a film about the riots and a Soprano prequel. They didn't blend together. It was kind of boring.
Honestly I liked the movie but I’d rather see a whole Tony movie maybe picking up right at the end
Exactly
I’m super hyped for this movie meadow will always be my favorite character over every one but I think Tony’s dad will be my second or 3rd favorite character after seeing this movie
The look of annoyance on Chase's face when you asked him about the ending was great. He's too classy to tell you to go to Hell, but he's struggling to pretend he isn't thinking it.
No offense, but I'm not sure what you expected any of them to say to that question. These guys aren't thinking/obsessing about the show's ending the way fanboys and critics on the Internet do.
Chase is so thin. Is he ill?
I haven't heard 1 positive review yet..we're in trouble
