- Testing out my new Zapperbox ATSC 3.0 tuner, and comparing its 1.0 performance to the OG tuner, the Insignia NS-DXA1. Based on Orlando area stations. Clips are posted here for nonprofit educational purposes only.

damn this really the future
Thanks for that. Miami has RF’s 6 and 31 for 3.0…..and despite recent good Tropo conditions, I have YET to see even a 1.0 subdecode cutting into either channel.
That refers to digital. That being said, I have seen analog channel 6’s out of both Havana and Panamá (the latter being Es natch) onscreen, albeit with WEYS “Almavisión” Miami audio.
It's possible. WFSG 28 decoded on that awesome night I had in Mt. Dora last year.
The signal quality looks lower on the Zapperbox compared to the Zenith. Is that just how it appears, or is the minimum decode threshold similar? It looks about the same on the weak channel you showed. I have the HDHR ATSC 3.0 tuner, but the market I live in (Cleveland-Akron-Canton-Youngstown) doesn’t even have any 3.0 yet surprisingly. I went to DC a few weeks ago with my friend Jeff, and he brought his 3.0 tuner. He was able to get all the DC and Baltimore 3.0 signals inside our interior room surrounded by concrete building using just his small UHF loop, but he had difficulty with the 1.0 signals. So that was promising.
Threshold seems to be about the same, but the Insignia decodes the weak stuff more smoothly.
i just noticed, when you picked up WFEF-LD, when they anncouced the Las Vegas Channel, if you look closely at the Zapperbox(?) , they spelt Wyoming as Wyoaming 😂😂
Are they using HEVC for video?
Did you turn off wzvn analog or were you the guy turning off wbbh?
4:3 Left 16:9 Right 1:14
Honestly seems like pretty poor reception quality considering it's based off of 4g telecommunications technology.
11 and 28 were both pretty solid when I had the real antenna plugged in.
I still need to drive out to the fringes and see how they perform there.
8 minutes of my life waisted watching this video.
