  • In our current RV renovation, a 2013 Wildcat Maxx F282RK, we decided to redo the entire bath/shower area in order to make better use of the space. One of our favorite finishes for RV showers is interlocking vinyl tiles, we have used tiles from a company called Dumawall in the past but this time we are using a product from Palisade. Check out how our install went and turned out and we hope you get the confidence to install these tiles in a project yourself! See the before and after shot at the end!

Thank you so much for sharing!!!!! You did a fabulous job detailing all of the steps. I watched so many videos but none gave me the confident and answers I needed (more questions too).
I’m in the process of putting up shower walls in my camper van (Ram Promaster 3500 extended). There were sleepless nights, thinking and thinking, how-to, frp, flex seal, vinyl sheet, tiles, backer boards, and the list goes on and on and on. More people should view your video. I am sure they will find it informative.
Again, thank you for taking the time to share! God bless.

I did my tub surround without the inside corner as well, the corner looks cheap. I siliconed the crap out of the edges and actually counter set them. Finished with a bead of clear caulking.
Looks great, easy product to work with, only issue, one tube of silicone they sent was old and like cottage cheese. Just grabbed a tube of a similar product and boom, finished her off.

These tiles do have some wight depending on the size of your shower. I bought these online and I haven't heard of anyone else putting them in a mobile rig until I saw this video..totally reassured me that I'm making good choices with my shower install. I'm very grateful to you for that! 🙃
I wasn't going to get the redguard simply due to the price of the stuff and how little I'll be using but this may have changed my mind. Also, we ordered a neo angle shower pan that was hard to find the right angle measurements for and they only had it in a cream color so I'll be taking others advice and using rustoleum topside paint to make it nicer looking. I'm no carpenter..so videos like this and people sharing how to get things done the right way help someome with as little experience as I have perform a professional quality of work. Serious so helpful and can't thank you enough! 🙏

Hi John! Thank you! Happy our video was able to help you :) Sorry, but we did not make a video when we installed the shower pan and we actually did not use a shower door, this particular model 5th wheel does not have a lot of space in that area so we opted for a shower curtain and had short custom glass panels made and installed them on either side to prevent water splashing out. Here is a link to the listing for this RV if you skip to the pictures of the shower area you will see what I am talking about :) Good luck with your remodel!

This is just what I needed to see, very much appreciated! You did a pro job on this install. Great set of tips on how to install, including the Schluter end finish pieces. Schluter also makes a good backer board but so pricey. I think the hardest part of the install is to figure out where the plumbing goes and cut that out ahead of time.
I was looking at Palram and Palisades and very hard to find a floor sample or display board at Home Depot or Lowes! Not a single display that I can touch and feel for weight and finish. I wrote to both companies and waiting for their samples to arrive.
How is the Red Guard holding up? Did you paint over plywood or backer board? Did you use Loctite Power Grab Ultimate construction adhesive? What type of Silicone caulk?
I wanted to make a shower niche for my shampoos, in real tile or vinyl tile. Maybe that is too ambitious? I would also love to know where you bought your shower pan. I have a bathroom remodel to do in my RV.
    Thanks for the demo!

You are welcome MJ! We are happy you liked our video! I believe Amazon has a option for buying a sample for the Palisades if you want to see the product before ordering. Everything is holding up great, we used the manufacturer recommended glue and it worked great, you will go through quite a few tubes of it. We use 100% silicone for between tiles and in corners.
I found the shower pan from an online company called Mizzle Bath, at that time they where they only one that had a pan the specific size we needed. Good luck with your install!

I am curious if you used the Red Guard on plywood or if you installed backer board? I had planned on skipping the backer board and using Red Guard directly on the 1/8 plywood that was behind the old shower surround, but I've really been racking my brain to figure out how to transition at the bottom since the 1/8 plywood falls outside of the shower base.
