They just need to be more thorough with their ban list like silph cups were. Most mons outside the top 100 are just a straight up waste of dust.
QOTD: They should just add non-ranked GBL separately, with all three open leagues available and let people choose what they want to play.

They had a season where there was no elo, and people were still sweaty. Even when it doesn't matter most people don't experiment lol

The amount of effort you put in to your channel is amazing. Its great to see all the spice as I am so over the current Annihilape/Mantine cup.
QOTD: I've often thought about a combined max HP. So for example the three mons need to have a combined HP of xx which would mean that people can't just pop in three bulky mons.
Add more incentive, something along the lines of 1 candy per mon per win in a set. So say you go 5-0 with a Bidoof, you would now have 5 more candy for it.

I'd personally limit pokemon to 5 uses a day. That way you need to be swapping teams and can't just build one meta team and never learn anything else.
Banning more pokemon is the most obvious solution. Banning the top 20 just makes the old top 20 meta again. Most season just buffs a couple pokemon to counter a couple others, remove those and the others are meta again.
Qotd: Premiercup besides everyother cup! So people can choose meta or not!
Qotd: more regular cups like gl remix. But ban the top 50 pokemon. And do it with gl and ul. You can certainly win and gain elo with spice. Just people don't try so they don't have the skill to do so when they occasionally do.

Maybe not QOTD- But if they have a rotational cup, where you cannot use the same Pokemon you played in the last battle for 1 complete set. Meaning - 3 × 5 = 15 unique teams

QOTD, I think they should have a open play format that doesn't affect ELO.
Similar to games like Halo for example, they have social and competitive modes.
The meta would be heavy in GBL but in sGBL you would never know what you're going to see!

The fact they were left off the ban list answered to me just how valuable Lanturn is in Open Great League. It keeps me from seeing the same things over and over again.
Qotd: I think for more spice we would need a different way to either power up or enter pokes. Grinding dust and XLs is tedious for most players. My option would be that Niantic would let us choose a mon, peak the stats and it maxes it out before the battle to the max cp possible. You are only required to invest in a second charge move and TMs to have the moveset that you want.
I guess with shadow pokemon or with dragon breath animation you wouldn't even see opponent's ribombee 😁

Qotd: guaranteed rewards for battles. If losing was almost as good as winning, it wouldn’t be so discouraging to run sub optimal teams
The biggest problem today when it comes to spice is that the bulkiest pokemon of the best typings has the best moves and the best coverage. Better moves for weak glassy pokemon would be the best way to make the game more interesting.
A couple of nice battles in video video, but in general I prefer slightly less spicy teams against more skilled opponents.
Non ranked GBL is the best solution to this and would make the game way more fun and less frustrating.

QOTD: sadly I think this is a problem with no solution. Banning the top n Pokemon would be pointless: after a couple of days we would be back to a meta dominated by 15-20 Pokemon at most. Maybe a MASSIVE move update could make more Pokemon viable and give players a reason to toy with something new for a while, but in the long run it would make no difference 😐
QOTD: award extra stardust and better mons for running a team of mons not from the top 100 😎

Instead of banning meta-pokemon they should try to ban specific attack types.
In an hipotetic Normal Cup Vigoroth it is going to be the king. So if they ban "Counter" It will no longer be the number one.
I feel with Niantic laying off a bunch of their staff they can hardly keep GBL running in it's current state let alone adding anything new. So I would just like the game to run as it should! No lags or inconsistent play no more going into battle with a pokemon I didn't even choose. That would be ideal.
The person with the lvl 50 first stage evos trip shadows should submit more battles or to FamieFin. That teams fire!!! Wana see more!

QotD: Not much they can do. If you ban the meta, a new meta will take its place.
Even in the main series games, there are pokemon that are just... bad for pvp. You can use them, sure, but you are crippling yourself.
Since PoGO has done away with abilities, items, EVs and wide move pools, a lot of pokemon that relied on those are not viable.
A possible idea is the ability to freeze your ELO, so you can run spice for a bit of fun without losing your ranking.
Sure, you can't gain ELO either , but it does make it fair.
make sure the next extension cord you get has a surge protector built in!

People like to win. So of course they’re gonna use the most meta Pokémon to give themselves the best chance of winning. Me personally I can’t run the same meta Pokémon set after set. That’s why I don’t find pogo championship battles entertaining. Every battler has the same group of Pokémon you’re basically watching the same battles back to back. I’ve made it past expert rank using shadow sneasler which I think is an amazing achievement. But not everybody plays to have fun which is kind of ironic considering it’s a game.

Adding more moves to every other underused pkmn is a start. Can’t change stat product but can balance them with better moves… it’s not rocket science it’s just Lazy Niantic as usual
QOTD: Give more relevance to hard-to-build mons, and ban more mons in general.
