It was also when Akatsuki was being hyped as a super dangerous group with EACH member being at least as strong as Orochimaru, making Guy's power even more hype.

Currently Sarada and Sasuke are the only ones with a Sharingan I can think of, not taking into account filler characters, but were there more characters with a sharingan? It’s just that my memory is bad lol

The best part about Guy coming in to save the other Jonin is how he takes over and takes command. He already prepared reinforcements (Kakashi neglected to do this) and has a plan for fighting Itachi and Kisame. It really shows why he's a Jonin. People forget this.
And the show put him like a dumb, that just doesn't make sense
Plan? What plan? "Watch Itachi's feet"? Guy has experience with fighting Sharingan Kakashi. The idea that the strategy would translate as easy to Itachi is like saying you've only fought average genin with swords and you've developed some skill so now you're ready to fight Bee or Zabuza. Like no, no chance, Itachi's Sharingan is much more powerful

So many details here like how Itachi sparred kakashi which even kakashi was surprised by and Itachi leaking secrets such as they are looking for the nine tails (naruto) so the leaf could protect him.

The thing that they didn't know back then is that Itachi can put you in a genjutsu with a point of his finger, he doesn't even need you to look at his eyes which is how it usually works
It's not the point of the finger itself but the reflection of the eyes cast upon the ring.
No he didnt.. Kakashi was placed in Itachi genjutsu because Kakashi thought his sharingun could match Itachi.. like Sasuke said.. Kakashi is not a member of the Uchiha Clan so his body is not use to it.. thats why Kakashi is often in hospital due to the sharingun being too powerful for him..

That look Itachi gives after Guy kicks Kisame away, it's like "fuck it HAD to be Guy...." I also love the fact that of all the "villains" in Naruto, Itachi was the only one that knew how much of a beast Guy is, and even warned others not to underestimate him. It's a bit sad we didn't get a Guy vs Itachi fight.

Guy almost killed a God level Shinobi with his 8th gate and he can open the 8th gate directly, like he opened all seventh gate when he first faced Madara.

Guy is a terrible match for any uchiha . I think at the time only kisame give some competition to gai but 7th gate guys literally one shots them. Gaara literally says those are not human movement when guy was fighting madara with 7th gate and after fighting 7th gate guy madara said he is too strong. Guy was able to obilerate madaras imperfect susano with just a small hirudora in the war arc.
Guy can beat Itachi with his eight gate but he will die too..so that's a draw as conclusion will be both dying..and till his 7th gate he won't be able to break Itachi susano shield..
Always the most humbling moment at this point in naruto. Because Kakashi was such a badass and always a step ahead of his enemies. Then Itachi shows up and makes you realize there’s a whole other class of ninja out there
Then Guy comes in and you figure out there are literal gods just walking around in this universe
This moment feels different now that I’m going in it with the understanding that Itachi is purposefully not killing any of them.

The main power of Tsukiyomi, I think, is how disoriented your opponent will be when it ends. Even if you do nothing at all, that's still three days of twiddling your thumbs and then instantly being in the middle of combat completely off guard and confused. You'll be a sitting duck even without any torture.
In that moment itachi knows that will die if fights vs guy. Greatness
fun fact:when itachi uses the magenkyo sharingan in this ep his eyes doesnt change because the design wasnt made yet when the episode aired back in 2004.

There’s another weakness of Tsukuyomi: Itachi goes through that time too. No wonder he got that mysterious illness (heart attack?) and died unexpectedly
He died of overuse of MS and sealing Amaterasu inside Sasuke while having little to none chakra left. And he was using Susano'o to the boot of all that.

6:57 Seems to me, no one picked up how Itachi actually told Kakashi that the Akatsuki is coming after Naruto in code - "4th Hokage Legacy". This too was exactly happened exactly when Kakashi was wondering himself why Itachi doesn't kill him. Kishimoto put so many subtle hints, about Itachi now that I rewatch the old episodes. Because Kisame didn't know Naruto was the 4th Hokage child. If Itachi has outright said the 9 Tails, Kisame wouldve been suspicious why Itachi spoilt the Akatsuki's plans. Since there was no way Kisame and Itachi can grab Naruto if the hidden leaf knows about their plan.
What? That makes no sense. By saying 4th Hokage's legacy, he's still giving away Akatsuki's plan of retreiving the 9 tails. It doesn't matter that he didn't say Naruto's name or the 9 Tails. Everyone knows the 4th Hokage sealed the fox inside Naruto so this "code" made no sense. It's like if I came to your place to steal your car and when you ask what I want, I reply "I'm here for the transportation inside your garage". Like that isn't going to alarm anyone I want your vehicle.

WHATEVER they want, it isn't worth him dying and it isn't worth destroying the Leaf in the process. I think 7GG puts up a very good fight, but people are dreaming if they think Guy is boxing with BOTH Kisame and Itachi here. It would be a medium difficulty fight, granted, but Guy wouldn't win here. These two together are powerful enough to take on the entire Leaf by themselves

Fun fact : Itachi is using a Genjutsu in a particular instant when he's casting a particular technique with the Opponent not even noticing it.. but he's casting signs is also incredibly fast combined that with Genjustsu it's very formidable..
Danzo was also tricked by this when he's Fighting Sasuke and he said the only Master of manifesting this kind of Genjutsu is only Itachi on a tactical duel and eventually got lost because of that..
It's a simple trick but hard to master and control over ur opponents unpredictable insight!

Yeah this is pretty accurate. I never bought the "Look at their feet" thing because then the sharingan would be totally useless and nobody would EVER lose to the Uchiha if the solution were just that simple. The analogy I use is like this: Guy was used to fighting Kakashi, a talented user of the Sharingan, but not a true heir to the Sharingan.
If I can beat Sakura, a genin skilled in genjutsu, I don't go up to Kurenai and try to put her in one. Why? Well, fighting a genin who's average in genjutsu is different than fighting a jonin who's main skill is genjutsu. The tactics you use for one opponent may not be appropriate for another opponent. So okay cool, you've learned to fight Kakashi. He's your rival. Well Itachi is WAY above your rival, and the thing about him is that he seems like he's not even TRYING here, and that's in character for him. So if it came down to it, Guy would almost certainly lose

@@fool6925 to me the 8 Gates are more of a plot device. The only time 8 gates are ever used is in active wartime, not for any other reason outside of that. Guy, in character, would use 6. He would use 7. But using 8 gates on those two, he just wouldn't do. And honestly, I don't even buy that Guy gets to 7 Gates. Kiaame is too powerful, Itachi too much of an illusion master. It took 7 Gates for Guy to fight a weakened Kisame, the idea that he takes BOTH of them down just isn't happening
