This is easily one of my favorite character matchups to watch, such different fighting styles facing off against each other, so many different ways to interact and get in

Crazy Cardenas 😕 are you mad that fatality lost? MVD is good. He won the first major, sure it could be lucky because it was the start of the game, but hes still a really good player. A bad Snake wouldn’t beat fatality ever, a high level Snake not at MVDs level would most likely lose too. Even Marss Snake would’ve probably lost to Fatality. MVD Shogun Scatt or Salem are probably the toughest Snakes for Fatality to face

I was feeling bad for MVD because Snake takes so much thought to use, and when it doesnt get you anywhere it feels bad, but by the end of it I was feeling bad for Fatality because he couldnt do *anything* without getting blown up. Like the screen was just covered in explosions by the last couple of matches of the first to 10.
I believe if this was a normal set, Fatality might've taken it. (I'm saying this as an MVD fan lol) First to ten against *Snake* is an extreme mental stress test that I don't think even the best players will always have the patience for.
MVD would have needed a new controller if he lost
Shout out to the editor for taking comment section advice. It was a while ago, but I remember someone saying that as a psychological trick to put the merch stuff after a win, and I’ve noticed it for the last few videos.

It's been so long since I've seen a snake willingly go to the ledge I had to go back 10 seconds to make sure my brain wasn't autopiloting

I go to the ledge a decent amount of times, depending on where I was launched, and who Im fighting. Snake cant really do anything while recovering low he sorta just eats a lot of damage, and recovering high doesnt always work, so low can be a mixup depending on character. And high also needs grenade mixups/B reverses.
@@NVS_Snake the thing is I main greninja and no matter how many times I hydro pump them into the blast zone they never adapt, better snakes are out there, but they don't seem to be common

@@NVS_Snake yes, it's legit annoying, they try to airdodge but that just leaves you in the air without an airdodge against a character that's good at juggling. meanwhile, the ledge is right there and none of them use it idk why

Crazy Cardenas Thats not what spamming looks like, plus he used to be ranked 17 on the PGR. Snake takes a high amount of skill to get good with. He’s currently not ranked but it doesn’t mean hes not good. Only 50 players can be in the PGR at a time
Any combo that isn't completely true can just be yeeted out of with grenades
Yes, however, grenade trades dont always favor Snake. Its a bit overrated, its a good tool to get out of combos tho, just he has to be willing to take more damage than the opponent to get out the combo. Patience is required, you don’t just run and hit him. Snake is vulnerable so you have to punish him, especially offstage. Why am I saying this? You know this probably lol. Good character imo, super fun. Great matchup. Its 0/+1 for Snake, but its incredible sometimes

@@NVS_Snake That was honestly just a really vague surface level analysis of the utility Snakes grenades give him. No, they're not overrated, and yes getting out of a combo where he would have took more, or been pushed into a bad position, or avoided death all together is EXTREMELY good on a frame one tool that can also set him up for hard counters and massively restricts your neutral. There is no circumstance where Snake escaping a combo at the cost of 10-15%(which the opponent also takes) works against Snake.
Sure, Snake grenades can work against him in neutral, but that's more often than not the snake just being mashy and throwing them out without any real strategy, not when they're being used to break out of combos.
Not to mention they also detonate on contact, rather than strictly having a set time(which snake also manipulates via cooking). It's literally impossible to do anything against grenades but shield or be the world's greatest parkour enthusiast lol. You can't be aggressive at all without constantly paying for it, whereas being aggressive against any other zoner is generally the way to keep them from getting anything going. Take him too a small stage and his massive explosions are going to destroy you constantly, take him to a big stage to have more room to work around it, and it helps him get even better pacing wall you out harder.
Tbh I think Snake needs a couple nerfs. Namely a weight nerf to match Cloud and a single grenade he can have out at a time.

Snake does take so much thought to properly use him. If you play without critical thinking constantly, theres no way Snake should win. I think hes really fun to use, so thats why I main him

Patrick it’s pretty hard to just land it in neutral. Top players can avoid it most of the time, so it’s better as a mixup
Coming back from Fatality's result vs MVD and top 4 finish, grind is truly paying off!
Not knowing & remembering when & where Snake plants his mines can really cost you the match. Also, the opponent MUST have a good mix up game in order to win. Snake has option selects for days, so playing linear won't work against him. Last point: a lot of the time, Snake wants you to hit him so that he gets a trade with the grenade, allowing for multiple set ups. Keep that in mind.

Huge respect for you, both as a player and as a person. I think the issue people have when seeing you play is the feeling of "Oh god what can you even do?", because people aren't familiar with a really good Snake player and playing against Snake can feel hopeless. Anyone trash talking you specifically is a sour sport.

great video! Just a suggestion, maybe consider putting the ads in between each match as opposed to 1-2 seconds before the game ending stock. It takes away a lot of the intensity and momentum that has built up to that point. Small nit pick! Loving this series though :)

Who else noticed Fatality getting frustrated at about game nine and ten?
You can see Fatality’s mental stamina wearing down over the course of the video, playing as/against a good Snake is mentally exhausting. MVD won the Ft10 because he’s used to having to play such a draining game plan all the time. Fatality would’ve won in a sprint, but this was a marathon.
He thought he could demoralize MVD and got his fair share of c4
this is one of those matchups i feel where the stage choice really makes the difference between the matchup being even or snake favored of the stages that are legal tho, most lean towards snake favored
Town & City offers the most landing options to both players. Despite giving a lot of space to Snake for setting up traps, it also gives Falcon the most room to avoid them. It's the hardest to land C4 on since platforms can leave, potentially removing a trap. I'd say it offers the least advantage to either player.

Fatality one of the most patient players I've seen, but after about game 10 the frustration started kicking in and MVD ran away with it. Tracking the explosives/C4 and predicting MVD's movement mentally wore fatality down hard. Falcon's Up B still worked most of the time with snake on platform.

Those first few games MVD must have given his dog the controller, because halfway through he started playing like we’re used to seeing. Rough to deal with so many projectiles as Captain Falcon. Frustration definitely set in for Fatality and didn’t help towards the end.

i wish there was a more good bayos in the world outside of the honey trap and rage from europe. i generally win that match-up in elite but thats because online falcons only know how to use 3 moves so id like to see it at top level
