    People keep describing you as a pair, but Cricket is a star too. What a life that small dog has. Rocket, my collie, would be jealous, so I haven’t let her watch.

    I enjoyed your video. I watched it as part of my research for a late September-October canoe trip up there in 2021. Thanks for the great, realistic video.

      We highly recommend this trip. The water gets a little low in the fall farther down stream past the lakes though it's less busy. We'll most likely go again some time in the future.

    the two engines are rusted as ever! cant say we ever ported our canoes there though! we usually stopped by the spillway into martin cove a bit south with a beautiful marsh there, deep enough for canoes, lots of wild birds down there, only had to port our canoes about 30 feet, and you dont have to deal with the mud flats, then you come around, camp at pillsburys and dock on the north east side of the trains the next morn. every camp site with tables and fire-sites has a freshwater spring, it may be a little bit of a walk uphill, dont drink the lake water, lots of leeches and parasites.

    Weather in Maine is weird lol. I have seen rain, snow, freezing temps and hot temps all in 1 week before lol. This past winter we had a snow storm that dropped about 2 feet in December then the next couple days was in the high 50s low 60s F and melted it all lol.

    Travel, adversity, adventure, wildlife and Cricket, what more could I want? I wish I could win Lotto so I could give you guys enough money to do nothing more than make videos. I do feel for you being stuck out in the rain. We just got home from a quick trip and of course it rained but we were warm and comfy in our old Coaster :) Another superb video, thank you. (Oh and apologies to Cricket if the spelling isn't correct.)

      Greetings there. Although money is always a huge help most of our trips aren't too expensive. Time is what we need more of and it seems to fly away. Cricket is indeed the correct spelling though Wilms is getting used to the alternative spelling.

      It was a little challenging at times but the countryside up there is amazing. We were hoping on undertaking a trip to the boundary waters next but that not going to work out so we might have a go at Utah, a little closer to home.

    I've been thinking, a water-activated dog-cam could produce interesting footage if Krikkit goes swimming.

    • @ForemanAndWilmsAdventures
      @ForemanAndWilmsAdventures  Před 5 lety

      She is a keen swimmer if the temperatures are hot enough or there are fish to be herded in. We bought her a Gopro dog mount but even so she's too small to wear it and the camera just flops about. She does like cat food so when she fattens up we may get it to fit.

    Loved the fall colours (oops; colors :) )
    You two have such a fun attitude. Probably buoyed up by copious imbibings of tea, and the presence of one rather 'fun' Crikket
    {BTW just what is the correkt spollenge for that name please?}
    It's amazing what can be found miles from where one might expect; eg olde locomotives from olden (as against Ford) times.
    Really enjoying your shared experiences, replete with top notch editing and animalizationings (wipe the animal bit).
    :)

      @ForemanAndWilmsAdventures  Před 5 lety +1

      How did your big road trip go?

    • @nbrettoner
      @nbrettoner Před 5 lety

      It went really well, but far too fast. Not the Super Roo & I (we meandered along the blacktop at around 90 kph, & around 30 to 60 on the 600kms of corrugated stuff), just the times. :)
      Had expected around 9,000 kms over 3 1/2 months, but not the 11,600 kms total I did!. Zorro has nothing on me when it comes to Zig~Zagging the map. :)
      Neither had I expected half the front (including the # plate) to be sliced off my poor Subaru Outback Wagon; by a young lady in a black hatchback that came from nowhere.
      Totally my fault (I was waiting to exit left from the carpark beside The Todd River; opposite YHA), I'd inched forward slightly between looking right (nothing there) & glancing left then back right again;- !! BANG !!. Another inch I reckon and she would have collected my chassis. Nice straight scratches front-to-rear down her left side. She must have seen me for a good 40 feet, yet made no attempt to steer right 6 inches, nor brake!. I was able to get a nice small card from the pretty Alice Springs Police Constibule*, so that when asked by 'other' Constibules* "Ello-ello!, end wharez yore front numb er plate then??????", I could eggsplain-with-said-card. All fixed now, and new # plates. We never could find that front one.
      Constibule* is not as boring as the usual spelling. Oh and trying to maintain a cruising speed of 90 kph in the Top End where the limit is 130 kph is quite challenging. I pulled over/up often, for all trucks behind me, way before they caught me. Was saddened on that 1st day I arrived in The Alice, not just by the accident, but also over the next couple of days out at Glen Helen Resort (West of The Alice). The manager & his wife after 13 years were having a massive garage sale then sailing off to caretake a Snowy Mountains resort. The local land owners had decided that at the end of the lease period they'd "have a go" at running the place. Their new website looks ok, so I reckon they had an 'injection of fundings' and help to that end. And I too had better end. The letters on these keys are fading.
      Take care guys, really do love your videos and your sharing-of-experiences. Regards to the Dog. ~ ~

      I have tried fresh water mussels before in other parts of the world and they fail to provide the same vibrancy of their salt water cousins. I feared these one's would be equally disappointing.
