I think it’s good that these men respect Elvis and play there part in keeping his memory and music alive but quite clearly a lot of people have actually forgotten how Elvis actually sounded.
They are just people trying to imitate Elvis style with their own God given voice. Noone has the exact voice Elvis was born with. I find the full on impersonators a bit sad to be honest. Especially when they get plastic surgery to look more like Elvis. Just a sad existence. I would be just as happy to watch someone dressed normally and behaving normally sing Elvis songs in the Elvis style.

saw him a couple of weeks ago.. could barely hear him, as he was continually drowned out by the band behind him.. what i DID hear was a bit disappointing compared to many of the videos of him i have watched over the years.. he was struggling to hit and hold many of the big notes.. Past his best in my opinion...
Yeah, I suppose I shouldn't judge too harshly seeing as he was battling the band most of the time.. I've been a fan since I saw him on a TV competition years ago, and always thought he was the best one.. 👍 Just such a shame the backing band didn't allow him to show him at his best.. Perhaps trying to sing above the music affected his voice, as he couldn't seem to hold the big notes.. But I do take your point.. 👍😊
Sounds nothing like Elvis. 🤷🏼♂️ Struggles at the top notes. Flat to say the least. 🙉 Visually, he’s great , especially the 1974 era upwards when Elvis was heavier. People listen with their eyes though and not their ears, obviously. 🙄
He sounds more like than most. The high end he struggles but they all do. Elvis was able to do full voice out of range with force. Not sure how he did it. He is very close though. Not sure why you would say he sounds nothing like elvis. Thats a bit extreme.
I don't think he sounds much like Elvis either, my theory is as Elvis fans we have heard these songs so many times that unless the ETA is horrible we actually hear Elvis that's why we think they are better than they actually are!! But if you try to pretend to hear Shawn as if it's the first time you heard this song you will see he isn't really close to Elvis!! Just one lady's opinion!

Nowadays the closest sounding ETAs are, in my opinion, Bill Cherry, Jimmy Holmes and especially Rick Lenzi. Paul Thorpe sounds very close as well.

@Sweed Savage sorry, I just can't hear it. I've been an Elvis fan for 66 years so I think I know what he sounds like. There is no-one to match him, although I believe Austin Butler does a pretty good job. Just have to wait until 24th June to pass judgement.

Not crazy about the background singers in this one. They just didn’t seems to blend very well.
