    I have 5 Haworthias, one a Zebra. They’re probably 6-8 months old and about when I started growing succulents. I don’t have mine in very deep pots but after watching this video, I’m going to repot them in another month. I really liked your video. You have just enough information but not too much like some that talk too much. I’d say your videos are one of my top 5 succulent growing ones.

    I have one of those. I keep it outside, and if it doesn't rain, I will soak it in water until it is soaking wet. I never knew that they bloomed. I have several branches coming from the plant, and they are full of tiny white leaves, absolutely beautiful. My plant does have babies coming from the mother plant, but I'm scared to mess with it, so I will probably just let it do its thing . The plant does get morning and afternoon sun, maybe a bit too much, but she evidently likes her spot.

    My haworthia seems healthy and the soil is pretty gritty (I repotted it several weeks ago) but while most of its roots are healthy, some have turned hollow, shriveled and dead. Does this normally happen to healthy plants every once in a while or it shouldn't happen and is preventable?

    • @SucculentsBox
      @SucculentsBox  Před 2 lety +5

      It doesn't look like a normal growing process of Haworthia. The primary cause could be a problem of watering or drainage and low light or exposure to direct sunlight. We suggest you should water your succulent about once a week and make sure the soils dry out between waterings. Also, Haworthia naturally grows in gritty grounds, well-drained soil, indirect sunlight, and infrequent rainfall. You can follow these instructions to help yours thrive better.

    • @SucculentsBox
      @SucculentsBox  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi there, plants use much less water in low-light conditions, resulting in their soil stays wet for much longer after watering. So, if you check the soil and it seems to be dry but is actually moist at the bottom, it's due to the low light. Zebra succulents should be watered when their potting soil has dried out competently, typically watering once every 2 to 3 weeks. Hope this helps

      if so probably your zebra is dehydrated. It could be the heat that makes the water evaporate quickly. You can give it a good soak of water but make sure that you only do this when the soil is completely dry. After all, underwatering is better than overwatering.

      @@bananithakuria8181 Hi there, it seems like your succulent is suffering from overwatering. In this case, please hold back with your watering, you should repot it if it is needed and make sure you use a fresh new soil mix that drains well.

    Every video i have watched about watering a Haworthia never says anything about roughly how much you should be watering, only how often
    How much water do you give a Haworthia???

    • @SucculentsBox
      @SucculentsBox  Před rokem

      First off, please make sure that all of the soil should be dry before watering again. If the soil is still moist, you risk giving your Haworthia too much water which can make it start to rot. After that, pour water over the soil, for example, put the plant directly under a tap. Continue adding water to the pot until it starts to run out from the drainage holes. When water has stopped running out from the bottom, it's enough 🤩

      Hi Kylie, you can display your Zebra plant in a spot where they can get as much natural light as possible, like a south or east-facing windowsill! Hope this clarifies!

      @@Mario-xr3jo Hi Mario, they have their points since Zebra can do well in an indoor setting, they can thrive in low light conditions. However, if you want to bring out its stunning red and orange pigments, then you can display them in a spot that they can get natural light like an east-facing windowsill. East-facing windows receive very good light levels and natural sources of heat without either being extreme.

      Red and orange pigments are not natural with Haworthia Fasciata. They are a sign of sunburn. Its natural colour is dark green with white warts.

      @@Mario-xr3jo Hi Mario, thank you for your comment. We understand your concern that you're afraid they might get sunburn. Zebra is ideally green and we did mention that they prefer low light conditions in our video. In this thread, we just want to provide an option if you want to stress them a bit to bring out the red and orange pigments by placing them where they can get bright light but not too much. As long as you don't give them direct light, they will do just fine. That's also why we suggested placing them in an east-facing windowsill since east-facing window=bright, indirect light

      Hi there, the main reasons for Haworthia Zebra closing up are due to incorrect quantities of water, incorrect exposure to sunlight, and exposure to adverse temperatures. Do you think this is your case?
