Super cool! I refine lead in my backyard from wheel weights, can’t imagine what it was like mining the ore underground!

In the same area, 200 years of Roman mining production equals one year using todays mining abilities. "5000 POUNDS OF GOLD." Today South Africa mines 500 000 pounds of gold each year.

Visit Halkyn Mountain and the first thing that will strike you is the vast number of sink holes. Clearly mining 60 metres from the surface isn't great for the environment and this is a reason why alot of Halkyn Mountain is now common land.
