I love how the pledge says to build a democratic society instead of to maintain a democratic society lol

that why many democractic countries failed. Because they participate and never maintain like Singapore in the upcoming GE.

Nope, this is a heavily-controlled 'free speech'.
1st. You need to register the topic beforehand for the permit.
2nd. Just for that, it's already censored.
3rd. Even if you get the permit, it's heavily monitored by the authorities.
4th. Other than the 4 rules stated in the video, there's one more hidden rule: "No criticism of the government".

I was a foreign student in Singapore more than a decade ago, but i had rarely seen political party held debates about their policy infront of the public...All i can remember is PAP...I have no idea if there was any valid parties running for elections...

Singapore is practically the only first world country that's an authoritarian state but not in the same sense as China or Russia. You have more freedom in Singapore than the two places that I just mentioned.

@@firstcommenter202 firstly there is no dictatorship unless you are talking about north korea. Democracy can become dictatorship too as last time Hilter is typical example. The problem lie in that all political parties are in for power dont be naive. Democracy will only work with rational voters and political parties who dont play political games but in reality is not possible. I dont care democracy or not most important is what work and ensure stability of the country.
