    I was a volunteer assistant track coach at a high school and was thrust into the head coaching job after the former HC and assistant coach resigned 2 days before the season started. As someone that's more jumps and sprints minded, these videos are going to save my throwers season

    I’ve only been throwing for about 2 months, but my coach has been really helpful. I started out with glide, but asked if I could try rotational. Tried for the first time today and she already said it’s better for me than glide. I haven’t really measured my shot pr, but my disc is 72’9 after about 1.5 months, so I’m hopeful that I can improve a lot

    Started watching your videos on learning shotput due to me starting to compete in the Highland games and they do a stone throw which is basically shotput with a natural stone. Since I have zero experience in shotput! trying to learn the cues and techniques you show to help me get better! Any tips on getting my right foot to turn better when I spin, it plants and doesnt rotate with my body causing me to not have any lowerbody power?

    I have only been doing shot for apx 15 months, started last year at age 58 with 6kg, now using 5kg. Been practicing spin with a 3 kg rock until I get some strength to fell comfortable spinning the 5 kg. Sticking to glide and side shuffle for now. But this video does teach it easier than what I have seen elsewhere.

    I’m 29 about to turn 30 in June. I haven’t thrown since freshman year of high school. But to me learning to throw again is no different than shooting hoops in the driveway. So I went and got a 4 kg shot and a 2kg disc and I’m just going to throw in my field for the fun of it. Your channel has really helped rekindle my love for throwing.

    • @brysonramsey8710

      Just remember, the 4kg shot is a girls shot. The 12 lb shot is what you would have thrown in high school.

    1:37 when you get to that position where you’re facing the center of the sector should you think about pushing off your left or do you just let the rotating right carry you off of the left?

    • @ThrowsUniversity
      @ThrowsUniversity  Před 3 lety

      Think both. You need to be very active with right to pull you off the left, but you also need to push off the left. The right needs to be more aggressive though. Hope that helps 💪

    Thank u very much sir... it is very helpful for me👍
    And i want to ask a question... that what can be maximum difference b/w standing and full throw

    • @ThrowsUniversity
      @ThrowsUniversity  Před 3 lety

      depends on the athlete really and how much they work stand throw distance vs full throw. We've seen athletes add as much as 6 meters from stand to full, but some may add about 2 to 3.

    Hey, I am a blind athlete that plays a sport called GOALBALL. In the game it involves throwing a 3 pound ball down the court a lot of the players use a spin throw. Do you think that this could be a transferable technique? Anything instructional would be a large help. Thank you
