- Discover some awesome techniques for working with Tarot as a magickal tool. This one includes my own tips and suggestions, some info about my own practice with Tarot, musings about sacred space and some practical demonstrations at the end. Enjoy!
As mentioned in the video, I cannot always guarantee responses to emails but any frequently asked questions about Tarot, witchcraft, books to read etc are noted down and used as springboards for making videos. :) I greatly appreciate people's understanding on this as I do receive more emails than I have hours in the day to answer them. I also wanted to mention that in this video I talk about requesting messages/answers from my matron. I actually feel that my goddess is a reflection of the strongest and wisest parts of me, so I feel as though I am not really asking an external entity for anything but rather using one as a 'mirror' to connect with the purest form of my higher self. I believe that tarot reading can, in itself, be a magical act. :) After all, divination is about connecting with some higher consciousness. I haven't tried doing any spells with tarot cards, but I'm interested in trying. Only thing I've done is that sometimes when I'm meditating, I like to surround myself with the four Aces to create a kind of magic circle, in order to make meditation feel more ritualistic, I guess. Thanks for the interesting video! More of this in the future, please.

This is absolutely me, I resonate with your words as firmly as roots grip the Earth. As the water brings what nourishes the tree as intuition does the soul, the sweeping wind clears the air as wisdom does the mind. The rising smoke fills the psyche as the instincts touch the heart.

I find I am extremely loving toward my Rider Waite.. its mine, no one else can have a reading. Its also my PROPER deck. not a fad or a fashion, Its what I learn with and because I find it hard and always have to be a student so that it makes it that much more special because I am so slovenly in my attempts at many things that its almost like a love affair.
I used to have this almost exact necklace that my brother had given me 35 years ago. I’ve never seen another one like it until now. Super weird. Great video & info, btw.

A) (and superficially) You look absolutely stunning and gorgeous, hello beautiful! B) I love that scenario of being held captive, a gun to the head, one tool must be picked forever after or death, etc :D lol, love it and I would pick tarot as well because it is SO multi-faceted. I also love the aspect of intentions, while I am not a witch so spell casting in specifics isn't my path, I do use tarot for setting out intentions to manifest and to release, which is in a sense the same thing ;) Thank you for this lovely video!

This video is so amazing! I love using the tarot in magick, although I haven't done it for a while. I did a ritual last time I was pregnant using the sun, the empress and a few other cards, and I will probably do the same ritual now that I am pregnant again. As ever a fabulous video as always. I am feeling that tarot for me is central to my magickal practice. Plus it fits with me having mediumship ability. I put my deck in order to reset the energy, and I have a little ritual when opening up a deck for readings.

I think of sacred space as my bedroom. The altar is a desk. Divination for me is a language. Magick, for me is an application of metaphysics.
I like Jodorowsky's idea of Tarot.
I wouldn't consider myself a witch, or a pagan (though i don't mind the labels.) I would consider myself a Mathemagician. I think the difference, for me, is that although i use basically the same tools and resources- i tend to default to a basic belief that reality is a simulation. The narrative, personification, and ritual exist because of the limitations of human mind to directly connect to the transcendental.
In the language of programming, Tarot (for example), would be like a library of code. The deck itself is like a short cut for processes that would otherwise be too arduous for the individual. The deck, lacks the nuances that are achievable with lower level art forms. But The deck, is more potent in the sense that its effects can be appreciated more rapidly and readily.
On a random note, I have adopted the strange habit of keeping my spiritual tools/books in my bed. I only use a deck, a journal, and a rotating group of books. But it just seems right to have them on my bed at all times (even when im sleeping).

Thank you so much for posting this! I'm going to try the pin cushion tarot you mentioned. I'm really hoping it can help me. Growing up in the American south, I was raised a southern baptist, but I've always been pagan at heart. However, because of the way I was taught to believe as a child, those two aspects of myself are constantly at odds with each other. I'm hoping I can use the pin cushion technique you mentioned to help rid myself of my own fears and judgements of myself. In my heart I am truly pagan, but the thoughts of "eternal damnation" keep running through my mind and cause me to second guess what I know is truth to me, the truth being the sacredness of nature and of myself as a magickal being.
+Jake Pack I hope that the technique helps you to narrow down the issues and get to grips with them. I have met so many people during my online journey who are battling their spiritual/religious conditioning. I know how tough it can be. Keep going.
I have an amethyst on deck the one I am using now is the Unicorn Oracle deck. Which I am quite comfortable with. I became a witch last year in January and quite enjoying it and I love learning new things every day.
I also love to read a variety of books to keep my mind active as well. I also work in the garden to help relax me as I am a carer.
I am also on a disbility pension cause I can be quite shy especially when I am in a crowd which I don't like, I tend to stick to myself a lot.
I do feel that I have come out of shell but not as much as I would like.
But with how the world is today I think I am better off by myself.
There is a lot more to me than meet the eye so to speak I don't like to talk about myself especially my past.

Tarot and my spirit board has helped confirm my new deities in my practice. Another thing that Tarot has done for me is let me know I am going through an awakening teaching me about my ancestors and about myself along with the person I want to be. I feel the same way you do about being Pagan it is my path and it has helped me through so much and lead me to a path of positive outlook. Many Blessings

While I do love Tarot and my Mother Mary Oracle Deck, cloud reading is the divination technique that really resonates with me. I don't do it very often since it really drains my energy, like a good solid workout. But it's like Tarot and Oracle cards are the birds riding on the elephant's back and the elephant is cloud reading.
And if I was forced to choose one magical tool to use, to focus my entire practice on for the rest of my life...it would be plants, but stones are a close second.

I've just realised that, apart from the odd spate of clapping / incense, I haven't developed a method of creating sacred space. Do you have a particular way of setting that up? Cheers! Hee! Thank you for sharing your thoughts on tarot magick. I did my first spell yesterday because my family was driving home from vacation and were scared because of all the ice on the road, so my sister asked if I could do something. I said I would like to try and use my tarot cards. I had my Hanson-Roberts deck with me. It was pretty made up, but it worked fine. Now I would like to choose a deck specifically for magickal use, but it feels strange to just grab one from my collection and exclude them from ever doing anything else but serve as a magickal tool. Do you have any recommendations for a deck or do you think it might work fine to use a deck according to the theme of the spell or something like that?

When i think of using tarot to shape consciousness I feel it is very similar to what i do when i write programs on my computer. Id say that learning to program my computer has changed my perspective of the Tarot.

I'd love to know if you've ever worked with ogham staves for divination? I know you've stated in videos how you have a very heavy celtic background family-wise. I was just wondering if you've used those and also if you've had the wonderful privilege to work with an older family member that believes in Paganism.
I am still trying to work out what poppets are, (poppits?). Can anyone tell me what they really are? I have some idea of what they are but just one of those things I find difficult to get a grip with. X

I used to dabble in a bit of milk chocolate occasionally for special occasions or at 'the time of the month' but I have become steadily more vegan over time. Oh I guess I'm also sometimes dabbling when it comes to pronounce English words LOL. One of the lovely souls here on youtube told me, that I have a pleasant accent when talk in my videos and I really always feared that I propably sound like those Germans who mistake the "th" for an "s". I take youtube as a chance to get more comfortable talking English and I have to say that I learn a lot from you as well as other youtubers in terms of everyday English. And the fun thing is, that there are not only the British English, but also the US and Australian English everyday terms I learn about. So much fun.
