Characters in XC3 seem to have only 2 unique idle animations as oppose to the 3 in XC2. Additionally, each character will have small standing idle animations that will include stretching, moving their arms around and looking off to the side. The NPCs idle animation also have no audio unless its a special effect such as ether or a weapons.

Through out the story themes of love and quote on quote natural flow of life are emphasized. you apparently only get the ascenion quest involving her after they learn about sex and love. and in said quest she is in one scene used for the male (kites) gaze. where he falls in love at first sight. While males can also be used for such a seen the problem lays in theme. you see it heavy emphasis Heterosexual reproduction and with no other mention of trans or nonbinay out side of her not being refered to with gendered pronouns it leads me to believe she is female at the very least female born. also those are some tight as shorts so if shes a male born either she has a tiny dick no dick or is a masochist
I think it's the opposite, Juniper is wonky by birth like Roc and other blades with undefined sexes, but is vastly more feminine in both appearance and demeanor; with Roc the overt female figure clashes with the male voice, but Juniper has a girl's face, a girl's body and a girl's voice, her love interests are both male and in general is treated like a regular girl save for a couple of lines of text in which the gender isn't readily identified.

Yes. They used female pronouns on the official Japanese twitter account announcing her, but the localization team pushed the non-binary angle HARD and refuse to admit it (the localization has also been done for a while so they had no control over what Japanese Nintendo posted). Basically, it was someone's pet project on the English localization team to try and push this. You can see it in the way she's written. One thing a lot of people have gotten wrong is thinking the localization team gave Juniper they/them pronouns. What they actually did , in fact, was cleverly write those lines so they could either be talking about Juniper specifically or colony Tau as a whole. This way the localization team has deniability on explicitly making Juniper non-binary while still trying to imply it as heavily as possible. It was pretty underhanded, and made the writing clumsy as all hell to boot.

If I understand modern Gender Theory correctly, sex and gender is considered separate. Therefore, a believer would say Juniper is non-binary by gender, female by sex, according to the paradigm. I admit I don't believe in the concept, but it's what is believed, if I'm not mistaken.
