I still remember watching footage when I was 5-6 at the Aquarium. To think 20+ years later I’m going to be doing this soon as a career is insane. Thank you guys for the inspiration

I started to teach Marine Biology on Monterey Bay in 1998, and one highlight was going to the Forums on Wednesdays at MBARI; Now that I am Director at a Marine Field Station, that joy has only increased. This video is a lovely Christmas Card from the deep, THank-you MBARI for all you do.

These are all so beautiful. It’s always been my dream to study the deep sea, but recently I’ve worried there won’t be anything left to study when I’m grown. Thanks to the folks at MBARI for keeping that dream alive.

Its so hard to believe that there is a place like that on his planet, so different than being topside. Even though I am grateful to see these beings on video I hope they are deep enough to be protected from evil humans. These beings are innocent and need to be left alone.....

Great introduction/summary video on why you should care and look further into the subject. Especially because we humans are fully capable of (also) messing up the deep seas, destroying things before we even know what we're losing, forever.

It’s like watching a MTV video. Too many short pictures too quickly. I’m old now. I’d rather watch several longer videos and learn something than look at flash videos. This isn’t Snapchat or Ticktock. ☕️😐
