Those funny boss battles obviously made Dave very happy! All those times these bosses got the best of him, now there's the satisfaction seeing they all got their come-uppens!

The first level showcased shows just how vulnerable each of the bosses are.

The Mario wanting to die level reminded me of one level from SMM1 where you had to damage Mario in order to progress; it was very cool. The funny boss battles were indeed funny to watch too!

Sorry to say but that "Mario Wants To Die" level actually has a lot of stolen setups from Stevo, For example, 13:04 is one of the trolls from ill advised adventure and the launcher mush troll is from ill advised as well, not to mention their other level TROLL SUS is literally a compliation of stolen trolls 😬

from the thumbnail i thought this was a matpat video about how Mario is suicidal and has depression and i just accepted that as something that could happen
5:00 It's because the lava has two different hitboxes: a hitbox that kills Mario and a hitbox that kills enemies. However, the hitbox that kills enemies is a few pixels higher than the hitbox that kills Mario. Therefore, by using a specific setup, it is possible to create a floor right in between the edges of the two hitboxes, so that Mario can stand on that floor, while all other enemies will instantly die.
No that doesn't seem right. It would be a waste if the lava had different hitboxes for mario and enemies, i think that there were deactivated on off blocks below the boom boom then when he died they activated.
@@erickgabriel6529, IDK, I've experienced several similar scenarios, where ON/OFF blocks were not involved. Also, two different hitboxes for the same sprite are not a waste. They're sometimes quite useful. For exemple, a friend of mine once created a game where he needed two hitboxes for the same sprite, which wasn't actually a waste. Therefore, I prefer to stick to my theory.

"But how did I not die?" Boom boom can actually stand on the lava like you can. The bill blaster killed him. The reason you can stand on it is because of other blasters on slopes. That barely poke out of the lava hitbox.

Every time Dave plays a level which involves a star power-up and dry bowl, he forgets that he can go in it before the next time he plays a level with it

Those first three levels were _glorious,_ especially the Infinite POW Contraption at the end of the 3rd.

W14-G47-WRG My DGR level has been uncleared for almost 2 years. It's a horrible level, though, don't play it. It's a waste of everyone's time and I shouldn't have made it.
