- 1/6/2020: We are so sad to report that Mr. G the goat has died. He lived four good years at Animal Place. We believe he suffered from cancer but because of his age (15+) we opted not to put him through invasive testing.
While Mr. G and Jellybean did separate (Mr. G realized he was a goat and Jellybean found a friend in donkey Jujube), their story will forever live on showcasing the power of friendships.

It is not trust issues Carl, no animal on this planet does to it's own kind and others that what the human animal does. Human animals demand from each other for all the wrong reasons, usually greed & self want - other species do & take for natural reason of survival. I can say that I love people, but can also say I do not like what the vast majority do to themselves and others - I cannot say that about other species on this planet !

This is amazing and such a great thing that they brought the donkey back to be with the goat. Animals are smart and people don't give them enough credit. Hope they can stay together for the rest of their days.

Animals feel love, understand loss, grieve and know joy. Mr G and Jellybean share a bond of friendship and love. I'm so glad they were able to be reunited.
This was the sweetest thing to see people who cared enough to reunite these two. Unfortunately there are so many paired friends, that get seperated and never see eachother again. Im always telling people how animals have feelings just like us if not more. This video truly shows that

What an amazing story of friendship and endurance! This is why I absolutely love animals. Most humans could learn a thing or two from these AMAZING duo!
Animals need friends too. Sometimes we are so caught up in our human needs we don't thing of their needs. Dogs like being in packs, horses are gregarious creatures. It always breaks my heart when I see horses and dogs alone. Think of their happiness first.
So grateful for their reunion...and the people who made it happen. XO

I literally shed tears from watching this video. Animals have always been capable of deep emotions and bonds of love. I'm so happy that the owners realized that Mr. G needed Jellybean. Love is the most precious of gifts to ever experience. And animals do feel love as well as other emotions. We can learn so much from them if we only just take the time.

So true, and when you think about it only humans are cruel. Animals will hunt to eat and for protection but humans impose cruelty for many reasons because of their ego. Meanwhile many humans feel superior to animals, and will call deviant humans "animals". It makes me nuts but at least it's changing somewhat; veganism and vegetarianism are on the rise.

I refuse to believe that this type of relationship is child-like at all. Wouldn't you feel the same pain and grief if one of your very close loved ones was taken away and never to return to you? Or what if your loved one died? Wouldn't you feel sad of their departure from your life?
Animals, like humans, have the capacity to feel almost ALL emotions that we feel.
I agree that it's childlike in the sense that the inhibitions most adults carry around are not present. The way society shapes us, what's "proper", what's "desired" and all that. A child doesn't have those views imprinted yet and is thus, in my opinion, better able to freely love.
I just got done watching jellybeans and mr. G story on Nat Geo Wild channel, the show is called Unlikely Animal Friends. I just had to watch this video and subscribe. Its so wonderful to see that those two are reunited.

I used to live out in the country. In a cattle field near our house were a donkey and goat that lived in the field with the cows. They were never apart. This reminded me of their amazing friendship.
