LR are members from a group called VIXX. Please check out some of VIXX's mv: Hyde, Fantasy, Error, Voodoo doll, Eternity, Chained Up, Shangri-la. You really can't go wrong with any of their MV.
Ahh Vixx LR! This subunit was actually formed because Leo and Ravi were the two members of Vixx to first branch out and try their hand at writing/composing/producing. Everything on this album is done by one of them! And beautiful liar is really just so well done, especially this MV! The song and storyline were amazing of course but the actual symbolism present in the little details is truly astounding. From the outfits, pianos, background, make up, light imagery, etc, they all serve a purpose to exhibit the opposing natures at play. Even in their live stage performances of this track, Leo's eyes are always lined with glitter, which makes it look like he's holding back tears in order to maintain his beautiful lie, while Ravi's are red-rimmed as if he's been crying, which expresses Leo's real feelings. Vixx are acknowledged as “concept kings” by the Korean entertainment industry for good reason I guess :’) Thanks so much for reacting to them!

Oh shit a throwback. Leo's voice... thank you to the requester for bringing this back and sharing this masterpiece.
If you like storytelling VIXX as a whole is a story telling group. They are called Concept Kings because each and every song is centered around a story or idea and they work everything to present that story - from living dolls to cyborgs to book concepts to Greek gods. They also tend to be on the darker side of storytelling; their first win was with Voodoo Doll and it's one that usually tops the kpop Halloween lists and it is basically about a one sided love gone very very wrong. They do have a very good vocal range from the high tenors like Leo to the deep baritone like Ravi, and a lot of their MVs tend to be story and visual pieces. They are currently on hiatus due to military service but the individuals have been doing their own solo works/activities.
I’m glad you reacted to Vixx LR :) they match soooo well musically. Literally my fav sub unit duo.
What’s good about it besides the way they complement each other, is that they composed all of their LR songs back then when there weren’t a lot of idols doing it. Also the video in terms of artistry is one of my favorites too, the way they represented both sides of the same person and the conflicted emotions ♥️
There’s a live version of this one if you want to watch it in your own time, I recommend it because you can hear Leo’s range more clearly and the arrangement is more rock based.
They are playing 2 sides of 1 character. They did such a good job with this!!! Vixx is currently going through their military service. Leo (L in this video) is coming back from the military, Ravi is expected to go soon. I always found Ravi in particular interesting - he left the label Vixx is under to start his own label but he still works with Vixx. He started hid 2nd label recently and just signed Wheein of Mamamoo to it. He is also one of the biggest writers in the music industry (I think at one point he was the highest one). We don't always get to see idols getting into the business side of the music industry but he is one of the ones up there.

Always love to see people get the story with only first watch 👏 👏👏 and about storytelling, vixx known as concept kings in kpop due to their unique, detailed and dark concepts. You can find deep DEEP stories in their mvs. So, I hope you can react some more Vixx and VIXX LR mvs. Also, if you interested with their voices, they have solo careers too.
vixx are always tryna tell a story with each piece. i absolutely love that it carried over to their first subunit. this song means so much to me ;;; i’m glad you got the message. i can’t remember how i realized it, but i remember really liking how they played as 1 person with different desires rather than the typical opposites trope a lot of duos do.
I love watching his videos so much because he dives deep into the lyrics and understand what the artist is trying to portray with his music and lyrics.

As a multi kpop fan I’m so proud of myself that i stan so many groups
My interpretation of the MV is that Ravi ( the rapper) is depicted as Leo’s( the main character in the story) desire to hold onto the girl. It’s like he is experiencing a internal conflict .

I take it as do you want a "Beautiful lie" or the "Ugly truth"? Leo character is neat, clean, composed, put together just like his piano. Ravi character is chaotic, all over the place, aggressive like the paint splatters covering the other piano.
