When it's been plain to see this storm will be devastating between Galveston, Bay City, Wharton to Pasadena (in that box) for the rain, wind and tornados and not one TWC reporter has reported in that box. TWC covered this storm better when it was in the Carribean than South Texas. Thanks KHOU.

I don't know... weather events are so overhyped these days that its more likely peak gusts are 81, and sustained will be mid/high 50's. You see, governors have learned that emergencies are money: fema cracks open treasury, and its a short free for all, stuffing as much into applications as can be imagined. Media? A willing accomplice to the abuse because an "event" means eyeballs boosting ad rates. Being a short term event and not a program means federal oversight is minimal and has no staying power. Easy money a governor can use to boost his/her connections.
I remember the coverage of Lake Charles being hit years ago as I woke up early in the morning - a local station there [whose feed got picked up briefly where I was] had windspeed & direction from dozens of networked weather stations posted to a map in real time - it was definitely a [strong] Cat 1, regarding sustained. The idiot/cross eyed governor there cherry picked the worst of the worst peak numbers and called the storm a Cat 3 the morning after... then slow walked recovery moves to milk that cash.
Highlights from hurricane Maria [2019 assistance to Puerto rico] indicate how things often go:
-$6.1M for transportation ADMINISTRATION costs. Actual transportation costs? Who knows - salted in other grants I didn't get to I expect. But we do know they spent a couple weeks refusing to unload barges of much needed aid, and then pitched a fit at Trump to cover up their shakedown activities.
--$183M to their Housing PR department. All that "messaging"... but did anything get built or repaired? I smell a few new cars, fishing boats, new computer systems etc in there but I could be naive and far worse happened. Thats alot of cheese.
