I got an OLED Steam Deck, and I concur with just about all of this. The UI, the ability to play backlog, battery life, it's all great. And the screen is magnificent for darker games, like the Souls games. Especially when playing in the dark. The fact that blacks are literally black is a huge difference compared to playing on an LCD. Doing it on the couch or in bed is just sooo satisfying.
Thanks for reading my mind 😂
How long did it take to be delivered?
@@nachosiri8951 Under a week for me.
I've had the OLED version since the holidays and my experience is exactly the same as yours. I absolutely love the fact that I can play my games literally anywhere! It definitely adds some extra immersion and it almost feels like I've rediscovered gaming...
Just got mine and put a 2tb ssd, joystick grips & bands, dbrand skin, screen protector, magnetic usb charger to keep the port from wearing out, backplate with fan ventilation holes/thermal plate pad, new upgraded back triggers, and a 1 tb sdcard for emulation. This thing is sick, had all the mods/upgrades waiting on the deck to get here and its amazing to have my full steam library plus full emulation, and the ability to stream as well on a portable device, thinking back when I was a kid in the 90s I never thought something like this would exist, coolest gadget ever created!
Where can i get a magnetic charging system
Amazon has many USB C fast charging systems, I use the arrips brand I have 9 of them they all work great
I have psx, ps2 and psp emulators on my deck. So easy to get roms of my favorite games. I have dark blue silicone covers for the controller area, purple thumb grips, black track pad protectors, extra button cushions for L4~L5 buttons. I bought a bunch of games last winter sale so I used steam points to buy more opening startup movies and have it set to shuffle. Matrix-like themed keyboard. Currently playing Spiderman Remastered, Spiderman Morales, The Surge, The Surge 2, Kingdom Hearts 1 and Vampire Survivors. I just beat MGS1 with the PSX emulator a couple days ago in one sitting. Was able to set the settings to make it look better than before. Steam Deck is great!
Amazing setup and choice of games sir!
Awesome channel 🔥
Also got a SD OLED. Never had pc so totally new to steam. I have to agree since I have had (Xmas) I have not sat in front of my PS5 hardly at all. When I have used the ps5 it has been through Chiaki4deck. I love being able to chill in bed and play games.. obvs miss the 4K tv but it’s been amazing experience using the SD 👍
The Steam sales must be pretty awesome to see. lol
I’m new to the Steam Deck community, I just got mine, gotta say I totally love my OLED 512GB Steam Deck, I don’t even touch my Alienware x15 r1 laptop with an RTX 3080 anymore 😆 😊
Yeah you can stream from the Alienware too if you want your laptop to run the bulk of the load and it saves battery, as well as the steamdeck being a complete emulation beast, and ofc containing your whole steam library on top of all that. Steam deck is king, welcome to the community friend!
@@steelzepplin2012 thanks for the tip, I’m happy to be here 😃👍🏻
I love being in my couch potato gaming era! 🛋️🥔
I feel like there's a lot of misinformation about the Windows being no great for handhelds. You can even make Steam Big Picture mode load when it boots. While Windows has its quirks and not great handheld compatibility, it's by no means a slouch when it comes to configurability, and game compatibility. Asus did a great job to help bring handheld functions to Windows. On top of that you can set minimize and Alt+f4 as macro buttons to have a even better experience. That said I do enjoy my Steam Deck OLED.
I'm thinking of getting one as I'm on solar.
🤓
Saves alot of power max 45w to charge it
The update that is a must the downloading while the screen is off as the OLED burn in screen is true horror, also in the summer it will be super hot and the pixels will die out alot faster valve have to make it much better to save the OLED models.
let valve know 🙏🏼
You need a static image on a screen at peak brightness even under light conditions to cause OLED burn in. And then you need that static image to stay in place for somewhere in the region of 3000 hours. The Deck won't display a static image. You will be fine. OLED burn in isn't half the issue some make it out to be.
@@TheTrueWelshIdiot appreciate the reply 👍
I really considered a Steam Deck recently. Because we have more than 450 games in our Steam catalogues, but then I held one for the first time and I don't think it feels handheld. I really prefer playing on the Switch Lite, although I still think it's a shame Nintendo didn't gave it's all portable system an OLED upgrade option.
It's heavier than the switch, but it's way more comfortable.
The OLED is 40% lighter than the LCD model
@@islandboyyy5281 no man. Just 5%. Stick to the facts.
Stick to your switch lite brokie
the game you're playing at 1:15 is balders gate?
Yes

How does it do with AAA games ?
most of aaa runs at 40-60fps on SD depends on your settings and game itself. if you want better performance get rog ally or legion go but you will sacrifice battery life and user friendly experience, because ally and go runs on windows
Wait for afmf to officially release for handheld pc then SD can run those at 60fps. Right now there are fsr 3 paid mods that will make games like elden ring runs for 60fps
Trasssh I have a SD oled which I RMA to valve when it comes back I will sell it to get a ROG as most times when I’m playing AAA games which I like it just lagssss.bad experience for me
@user-yv5gv7be5j if it lags that means you doing something wrong bro
@@OleksiiK21 after a factory reset etc.? Sent it back to valve anyways
I might be the only person here to despise this device 😂 but I shared my reasons
