The murderer of my son 10 years ago, broke his bail 3 times and was never sent back to jail. Besides changes for bail for criminals there should be changes to other laws as well. You take a life, the prosecutors should fight for the victims but they don’t especially in our case. Too many bleeding hearts and rehabilitation for murderers. We don’t get our son back but murderers are let out. I’m disgusted with the legal system and the governments.

It’s not that simple with violent re-offenders. When it comes down to it, they all have significant trauma that takes years or an entire lifetime to heal . Some don’t want to change or simply are too sick. My partner worked with violent offenders who just got of jail and they get a lot more support than you think. A lot of the difficulty that causes them to re-offend comes down to personality disorders, severe mental illness, addiction and other pathological brain disorders that are incredibly difficult to treat unless a person really wants to change. The reality is that many of them don’t want to. We can’t help everyone unfortunately. It’s best that some individuals stay behind bars because their risk to others is too great. If you lost a loved one due to a violent offender just out on bail, you would likely think differently.
