The murderer of my son 10 years ago, broke his bail 3 times and was never sent back to jail. Besides changes for bail for criminals there should be changes to other laws as well. You take a life, the prosecutors should fight for the victims but they don’t especially in our case. Too many bleeding hearts and rehabilitation for murderers. We don’t get our son back but murderers are let out. I’m disgusted with the legal system and the governments.
Your son's murderer would be executed in a just society.
So sorry!

The worst crime rates are in the conservative prairies.
@@rangerrick8220why are the worst crime rates in conservative places? Truth hurts eh?
Indigenous or not , if you commit a crime pay the price .
I'm sure that the 30% of the prison population being indigenous during the Harper years. While they only account for 5% of the overall pop. was something that then Justice minister Raybould considered when crafting a bill that protects Canadian's charter rights.
I suspect, the perpetrators involved in the missing and murdered indigenous women,
Are likely also indigenous, most of them anyway. Pierre , that's a bullseye 🎯 , that indigenous women need that protection too.
@@dennisheyes4561 The only time i hear Canada's Charter Rights invoked is to get some criminal off on a lesser charge or even no charge at all; like the drug hauler with a carload of drugs headed for Ontario caught on the Trans-Canada Highway by the RCMP. I am sure he had a big smirk on his mug when the judge acquitted him because the officer had no right to search the vehicle---his Charter Of Rights was broken. I wonder what would have happened if it had been a dead body in the trunk?
@@KStewart-th4sk........Ture! Yes you can certainly blame........The Charter Rights of Freedoms Act, that was brought in by the then late PM: Pierre Elliott Trudeau.......in 1982. An "Act" that gives the criminals of crime less time in a doomed system of justice of Canada.
@@KStewart-th4sk It would likely come down to whether the RCMP officer had reasonable grounds to stop or search a vehicle; And then (if not) whether a conviction would have been likely, absent the evidence found from the search.
If they happen to decide to pull you over because they have a "feeling" you might be up to something, and find actual evidence of a crime. Your defense lawyer may be able to argue that your rights were violated. If they have any legitimate reason to stop and/or search your vehicle, and in the process find evidence of a crime... You would be likely finished.
A vote for the NDP is a vote for Trudeau
Well that's the dumbest thing I've heard in a while.

Legit, you see Pierre's face like what?? For example, if I talked like that to my mom or any elder, I would get hit by a shoe and told to stop being stupid. These are our reporters??? This person should be fired? What an embarrassment to his news agency.
The question after wasn’t bad though, why are they reoffending? Their time in jail should be to prevent them from doing it again, are they not receiving education? You can say lock them away throw away the key, but now that’s just a burden on taxes and funds, proper re-education is the answer to this issue, nobody is born a criminal.
Because they have trauma .. that’s why they commit the crime. They have to be willing to heal that trauma, personality disorder, mental illness, addiction, find adequate housing, community support etc in order to heal. It’s not as simple as this news reporter thinks. Some of these criminals are so far gone and dangerous, sociopathic/psychotic/narcissistic that their brain is literally wired to be that way.
Thats how all Trudeau supports think...Hence proved. no common sense.

A logic lesson from Pierre and the conservatives
The reporter asks a strange question alluding to blaming the social system but part of his suggestion is correct. That is, what would a conservative government do to support mental health?? Pierre didn't quite catch on. Riverview Hospital for mental health has been shut down for the last 10 to 15 years. Would he support reopening the facility to treat the severely mentally ill and drug addicted??
He actually did address this by saying that like the previous Conservative government, they would support Mental Health treatment and rehab. It wasn’t super obvious but he did actually mention it
But remember--it was mental health and other social justice ADVOCATES that wanted it shut down. They feel those "institutions" are repressive and controlling (reading too much Foucault, no doubt).
Also, it was worded that way to mock Pierre's ideas, if the reporter was concerned about asking pointed questions, he could easily have led with "what about the mental heath aspect Mr. Poilievre, how would incarceration solve this problem, and if not, what would a Conservative government do?"
What's the liberal gov't doing to support mental health?

Ban Narcan, let it resolve itself
11:30 great question despite Pierre talking down to him. Why are those 40 ppl committing these crimes over and over? Prevent that instead of waiting till they've committed the crime.
It’s not that simple with violent re-offenders. When it comes down to it, they all have significant trauma that takes years or an entire lifetime to heal . Some don’t want to change or simply are too sick. My partner worked with violent offenders who just got of jail and they get a lot more support than you think. A lot of the difficulty that causes them to re-offend comes down to personality disorders, severe mental illness, addiction and other pathological brain disorders that are incredibly difficult to treat unless a person really wants to change. The reality is that many of them don’t want to. We can’t help everyone unfortunately. It’s best that some individuals stay behind bars because their risk to others is too great. If you lost a loved one due to a violent offender just out on bail, you would likely think differently.
Irrelevant question. Jail is supposed to be a deterrent. Even ironically the failed progressive ideology of rehabilitative incarceration would indicate that the correct course is to separate the hazard from society. Fundamentally this is one of the core purposes of government, law, and ORDER. We have a failure on both counts by the Trudeau government. Lock the offenders up. It works.
So Liz Liz how do you prevent them from reoffending cut off their hands. Unless you are agreeing with Pierre about keeping them in Jail so they can’t.
