This scene and when John wants to Marry Lizzie Stark.. They tried to hold back laughter when Pol yells at John "LIZZIE STARK HAS NEVER DONE A DAYS WORK VERTICAL"😂😂😂😂
Fr. Also the way they killed off the dad was just pathetic. He was badass and smart, no way they'd catch him off guard like that. I wish they'd just said him and Polly eloped to Australia.
Me too, I like Aberama Gold as a character. I felt so bad that they crucified ridiculously his son and shot him, then he didn't get to live to marry Polly. :((
@@mcdonalds9438 At the end of series 5 Polly is seriously talking about quitting and getting out. They could've just gone with that. But nooooo, gritty crime drama has to drama.

I always loved “will you offer your son” cause it feels like he’s asking him to sacrifice his child. It’s a small wording, but the implication is so big.
Almost nothing to add... Tom( Hardy) is absolutely a standing ovation, a genius, he gave life to a real masterpiece, Alfie, altough he is a secondary character, when he is present, wow, catalyzes the attention of everyone, it's impossible for me not to watch his scenes over and over again, i know his lines by heart, i think Tom is the most brillant actor ever. Well done Tom, well done!!!
Alfie was the best character on that whole damn show. He was either mean Alfie or comically mean Alfie. None of that character arc crap like the others. Hardy should’ve gotten his own spin off.
He's a truly phenomenal actor. There were only 2 young adult actors, male and female, that I felt were miscast. But, everyone else in the cast are so well respected on our little islands that the 2 lesser actors could be tolerated due to the weight of talent.
This has to be Tom Hardy's best character and imo, his best performance. It's not easy being Alfie. A cold gangster, with warm spots, and the only person who sees right through Tommy.
@@harrybedford8602 what are you talking about? From the Revenant, to Bane, to his role as the Kray twins in Legend, or his portrayal of a 1930s Appalachian bootlegger in Lawless all the way back to one of his first roles as a Borg in Star Trek Nemesis, he pulls off mind blowing tour de force performances. Then there's also Inception and Venom. Check out is role in Bronson and Warrior, and then in This Means War as proof of his drastic physical transformations and personal range. This man can transform into and embody any character. If anything is remotely close to his appearance as Alfie Solomons in Peaky it's maybe his gritty look in Taboo but those two characters are wildy different. Not to mention everyone forgets he was in Band of Brothers and Blackhawk Down as well. He's done so many more roles I can't remember off the top of my head, but the ones I'm pointing out more than showcase his versatility.
I thank you kindly, Mr Hardy. Job well done, as always, keep up the good work. You're wonderful, splendid and precious beyond words. I thank you, once again. Assume your position, carry on, soldier!
This is such a good character. I wish we'd seen more of him,, he was a counter weight to keep Tommy balanced at key points... Tom Hardy was amazing as Alfie.
British actors are very cool. Hardy is the most unique among British actors. He is neither better nor worse. He's just different. Another level of acting. Tom is an artist, craftsman, creator. He is not playing a character. He creates it. Tom just fills the screen and you can't take your eyes off him. I love it ❤
I like to know who wrote his lines because everything he says he sounds insane but beyond intelligent and actually on a whole other plain of existence.
The beginning of this episode is just as awesome. When Alfie and Goliath got out of the car, Alfie turned around and said, "Have you grown, Nate?" 😆 Then the sequence where he lays in the horn to get Tommy's attention. 🤣
He’s a perfect example of a side character stealing a show.
I think Alfie came close to Tommy but couldn't steal. Tommy's character f*cking something.

The role of Alfie Solomons is what made Tom Hardy my favourite actor. One of the greatest of all time, he's just flawless
