- Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes reviewed on Xbox Series S, also available on PlayStation, PC, and Switch.
One you get past its slow start, Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes mostly succeeds in weaving the stories of multiple countries and characters together into a sprawling epic. Its turn-based combat system operates smoothly, even if other modes like its strategy RPG battles can encourage simplistic strategies over critical thinking. And while collecting and experimenting with its titular hundred heroes can be entertaining, you won’t get to know the majority of them because of how much screen time they need to share with the rest of this bloated cast. Still, there’s plenty of satisfying side quests and castle building to fill in the gaps, which makes Hundred Heroes eventually feel worth the journey.

If you grew up playing PS1 JRPGs, then this game is for you.
Duel is not completely random; there's a hint in the dialogue about what the enemy is going to choose
Not bad for a kickstarter game. Konami needs to do better. They can’t even finish a half baked remaster of Suikoden on time.
That long wait for fast travel is nothing if you've played Suikoden 2. You already owned a fricking castle by the time you get the blinking mirror and Viki lol
its a kickstarter game from the original creator of legendary Suikoden 1 and 2 Yohitaka Murayama, who tragicaly passed away just before the game release, it didnt have resource like other big company game, so its pretty impressive, so far im loving it, taking me back to my childhood, im giving it 8/10 ..., hope there will be eiyuden 2 with more budget and bigger team ...
Playing it right now! Really feels like the original suikoden (2)
WTF IGN expecting? 100++ characters with full backstory explained?
Wait is there a humanoid capybara running a hot spring?! Sold
Honestly... All those characters gathering is just our pokemon reflexe. Gotta catch em all. 😋
If you love Suikoden , then this game is a no brainer
It's incredible for anybody who enjoyed Gameboy jrpgs like Pokemon red/blue. It's modern day suikoden. It's glorious.
The duel for the enemy next action to take is based on their dialogue, if their dialogue is tempting us to attack they will use counter, if their dialogue feel like they will attack, it's attack, is not chances, Suikoden also like that.
Please do a better research before posting a video, the duel was never random. There are dialogs hints for it
No mention of suikoden?
It's a 9 for me
the early backtracking is not that bad
For me this is so far my Game of the Year!
Should've mentioned that the whole game is a love letter and pretty much the successor to the Suikoden series. It's great.
Suikoden 2 is my all time favorite rpg, loving Eiyuden so far!
The blue dude better not betray me like Jowy did.
