Very cool Lunchbox and a good how to do! But it is a differential delete like used on the real Monster Jam Trucks and not a Posi. GM Positraction is a limited slip differential. The wheels are still able to turn differently, until the speed difference goes too high. Then it starts to lock itself.
Great Mod...I did it as well. My question is ,which foam inserts did you use on these slicks if so,where did you get them? Your Mods are off the Hook btw!
Thanks! It will probably be driven on asphalt or concrete mostly. I moved the shocks to the rear so I could lower the chassis. I’m going to upload a video explaining what I have done. I hope you check it out.
I gue the locking diff is good for this build. If you want to Wheely I only guess it is a bad idea. In my understanding the open diff makes the Wheely more straight.
Alittle late to the party, im just getting my original Lunchbox back up and running with up to date parts, this is a sweet looking LB, those tyres are stunning, i noted you mentioned they were from RCmart, are they on the standard black LB rims? great little upgrade too. 🤙
It’s never too late lol. Yes in that video they are on the standard LB rims but later I changed them to the chrome rims like on the Wild Willy. Thanks!
Performance is probably a broad term. I did all of this to prove to myself I could take a non-RC drift chassis add more angle and drift on rubber tires. So it performs a specific task (not very good on off-road anymore). I have a first drive video with the stock tires on concrete with light snow and then in my basement (slick concrete) with slick tires. I was very happy with how it preforms the task!

Yes, you are right it would be more like welding a standard diff.
Ben, you are a good mechanic/teacher. Proud of you.
Thank you Grama!
Nice upgrade! And very cool potenza tires!
Thank you for this tutorial!!!! I will be ordering this posi unit for my Lunchbox.
Nice! Go for it!
Awesome. Ampro's doing great stuff. Your box is running good👍
Yes, he does have some cool stuff! Thanks, I can’t wait for it to get warmer so I can drive it more!
as soon as that song dropped , the like button was clicked
Great upgrade
Yea I like the it drives

Thanks! ❤️ I don’t have the foam inserts.
Great looking truck. Nice mod for off-road. I see you moved the rear shock mounting points. Notice much difference?

@@hotcago7197 cheers buddy... Can't believe how much things have moved on!... Have an original Tamiya Sand Rover to sort aswell..lol...
Cool 'Box!! Where did you get those cool slicks?
Thanks! Yea, I got them from RcMart.com they are R31house Slicks.
Cool.... I just upload my lunchbox video
You have alot of money in this little guy
IDK I think I bought it used off eBay like 6 years ago for 50-60 bucks. But yea it all adds up lol
Legit question. What exactly is the point of doing this? Does it help or hurt the performance?
Performance is probably a broad term. I did all of this to prove to myself I could take a non-RC drift chassis add more angle and drift on rubber tires. Also I suppose if you wanted to just drive very fast in a straight line it would also handle very well (probably would adjust suspension to do that)
So taking a car with terrible turning and locking the diff sounds like and even worse idea.
Yea lol, but I’m changing that too. I have a couple videos up on modifying the suspension. I’m really happy with how it’s going. Check them out!
Can you buy the locking diff on ebay?
I got it from AmPro Engineering on Shapeways.com.
