There's tons of data for this, it's actually pretty well known. It increases the amount of time under tension for the muscles (i.e. total amount of work you accomplish) while needing a similar amount of overall recovery time afterwards. Downsides are 1) you need access to a gym multiple times a day (many don't have this) 2) if you're not strictly a muscles buff or power lifter or whatever then you lose out on the endurance benefit of the longer workout But if #1 isn't a logistical issue and #2 isn't a training goal issue then it's actually completely normal way of doing things. But it's relatively rare mostly for #1.

This is a amazing way to workout if you a busy guy . I work 8 hrs a day . And I have a family . One daughter only but let me tell you . If I were to spend more than one hr at the gym I would lost time to spend with my family . So for me it works great . I only workout once daily for 30 min . And only 1 rest day every week . Keeps me in shape . I love it . I recommend this if you have a family and love spending time with them

Bro, I do full body workouts this way and it’s amazing. It’s so time friendly. Sometimes instead of 3 times a day I can only squeeze in twice so do an a.m. workout that is a lower body and a p.m. workout which is a upper body. But ideally I’ll get legs and abs in the morning, chest and back midday, then shoulders and arms later-day. You burn a ton of calories throughout the day too bc of the activity frequency during the day. So building muscle check, building strength check, burning fat check, and releasing a ton of hgh and testosterone during your sleep a definite check.
This is true at my job we have a little gym in the warehouse and this guy works out during his morning break, lunch, and 10 mins after work and he’s pretty jacked
I do different segments to an hour and 30 minute workout First is strength/hypertrophic training Second is sprints/endurance rounds Third is plyometrics

This is what I do and I find I can work out MUCH LESS overall but yet look better and just be more fit and fit looking overall. You could break this up even more and do 4-5 10 minute burst workouts throughout the day. Also, the benefit is less inertia and momentum needed at the start. It’s easy to commit to at least one or two 10 minute sessions. Much harder to commit to and maintain 1 hour sessions. Try to blend some of your exercises and activities into your days. Something(s) is/are better than nothing

Also, if you get your work capacity / conditioning levels up to a superior level, you won’t really get tired like that during the workout.

I am a student and learn for the exams in one of the on campus buildings. I climb 15 stories of stairs with either skipping a stair which trains my thighs or doing short sprints as cardio. I don't even need to exit the building. Stairs also provide an elevation for bulgarian split squats. Before going to uni in the morning I do squats with my two dumbells and in the evening I use my bed as an elevation for sit ups/bulgarian split squats, do push ups, planks. I shower every evening and change my clothes so sweating a little on the stairs just before going home isn't that bad. This routine also makes it less awful to sit for long periods of time, my legs hurt less.

This is a good way to train I have a big home gym where I can do 80% of my sessions at the house with enough weight and equipment to push my limits Personally I love going to the gym and I always will But this is how I would train if I was more spent on time and had kids or something one day and life got tough . For me I’m lucky. as I work from home Instead of taking a 1 hour lunch I would take 3 (25 mins breaks and do 20 mins in my home gym which is right next to my work desk at home)
