There's tons of data for this, it's actually pretty well known.
It increases the amount of time under tension for the muscles (i.e. total amount of work you accomplish) while needing a similar amount of overall recovery time afterwards.
    Downsides are
    1) you need access to a gym multiple times a day (many don't have this)
    2) if you're not strictly a muscles buff or power lifter or whatever then you lose out on the endurance benefit of the longer workout
But if #1 isn't a logistical issue and #2 isn't a training goal issue then it's actually completely normal way of doing things.
But it's relatively rare mostly for #1.

Bro, I do full body workouts this way and it’s amazing. It’s so time friendly. Sometimes instead of 3 times a day I can only squeeze in twice so do an a.m. workout that is a lower body and a p.m. workout which is a upper body. But ideally I’ll get legs and abs in the morning, chest and back midday, then shoulders and arms later-day. You burn a ton of calories throughout the day too bc of the activity frequency during the day. So building muscle check, building strength check, burning fat check, and releasing a ton of hgh and testosterone during your sleep a definite check.

I am a student and learn for the exams in one of the on campus buildings. I climb 15 stories of stairs with either skipping a stair which trains my thighs or doing short sprints as cardio. I don't even need to exit the building. Stairs also provide an elevation for bulgarian split squats. Before going to uni in the morning I do squats with my two dumbells and in the evening I use my bed as an elevation for sit ups/bulgarian split squats, do push ups, planks. I shower every evening and change my clothes so sweating a little on the stairs just before going home isn't that bad. This routine also makes it less awful to sit for long periods of time, my legs hurt less.

  • @Bigbrodonateddollarsthroughsup

It's scientifically valid. It's pretty widespread knowledge in the realm of athletics that short and sweet workouts are best for intensity because they don't completely drain the CNS of excitatory, performance-enhancing neurotransmitters like acetylcholine and dopamine. That's why proper peaking procedure in virtually all sports demands a drastic decrease in volume, with an increase in the intensity and frequency of training.

This is a good way to train I have a big home gym where I can do 80% of my sessions at the house with enough weight and equipment to push my limits
Personally I love going to the gym and I always will
But this is how I would train if I was more spent on time and had kids or something one day and life got tough . For me I’m lucky.
    as I work from home
Instead of taking a 1 hour lunch
I would take 3 (25 mins breaks and do 20 mins in my home gym which is right next to my work desk at home)

What he's saying makes sense even without data. Thats why when you train with a trainer and your trainer knows how to workout INTELLIGENTLY. you do your big exercises that require the most energy first. Hes basiclly breaking that beginning portion of your workout when you feel the most energetic into 3 different short workouts throughout the day. But he's able to push himself to his maximum every single workout.

Makes sense but may not be as practical for some as 1-2 hours at a time. Definitely want to try.

It would be nice if I lived at a gym but I’ll stick to 1 visit a day for now.

I think that’s an amazing suggestion, seems like it will cut down on the lactic acid buildup in your muscles when they get warn out. Definitely going to add this to the routine.

Well, I completely quit the “working out just once a day” mentality. Now I do different exercises all throughout the day instead, whenever I feel like it, and it not only feels more natural, but my booty firmed up like crazy

Theirs an entire book that talks about this. This style of training comes from Bulgaria. It’s a common bulking protocol over there. A guy named Leo costa wrote an entire book about it called called BIG BEYOND BELEIF

That's a very efficient way for someone who has to be on the go all the time.
And the beauty about this type of workout is that you could do it anywhere..
20 minutes of push-ups at work.
20 minutes of running in place at home doing high knees
20 minutes of burpees in your backyard

Like 10 years ago there was a pro bodybuilder who did this. I did 2-a-days in college. Blew up from that! As soon as I have my house and I build a gym in the house, Im going to do that again. Pull for example would be Back for 1 workout. Biceps RearDelts for workout number 2.
