I was in Japan when Onimusha came out. Blew my friggin mind. You couldnt go anywhere without seeing this game being previewed. Zone of Enders came out right after it. It was finally worth owning a ps2.
Where's my movie, Capcom?! *EDIT:* Just got all Onimusha games last year (1, 2, 3, and DoD). *I don't consider Blade Warriors and Soul as proper Onimusha games...* Honestly, it's a struggle for me between 2 and 3 for best game in the series. I really liked 3 for its time-travel aspects and epic conclusion! However, I really enjoyed 2 for its step up from 1 with the multiple character routes!
inafune, once again, being given way too much credit for a bunch of stuff he didn't actually do. i wonder how much of this is misleading translation or he himself taking credit for other peoples' work? onimusha wasnt his idea, the story wasnt his idea, he didnt create or direct any mega man games, etc etc
There was a section in wind waker called the savage labyrinth with the exact same concept where you go down levels and fight harder monsters. They were talking about that, not side quests.
i only have the second game and i don't have the disc just the box it self, The game was actually my dads cause he wanted to open a bootleg arcade in Nicaragua.. An online friend of mine has found the first game, but the disc doesn't work. Man, i need to find the first game in the series and restore it and i think i need to also find the second one again.
the first Onimusha game was AMAZING, the sequels....not so much. If they stuck to the original formula of great story telling, interesting characters, and FUN GAMEPLAY then maybe the sequels would have done a little better.
onimusha 1 was a good game but too short. onimusha 2 was longer, looked better and the story was pretty good = best onimusha onimusha 3 still a very good game with nice character switch puzzels onimusha dawn of dreams was too long and so the gameplay felt very monotonically after some time

holy shit I remember getting this here in the states didn't know I was picking up a major part of my life all of onimusha's r truly great
G4 tech TV was a great station and as far as gaming community goes ahead of its time. Now is when we need a G4, I think it would have done well now.
Can't wait to play onimusha warlord again on the switch
My favorite trilogy on PS2! Masterpiece!
Wow, Onimusha 2 is far and away the best of the series. I completely didn't know it was received so mildly.
The first game I bought with my ps2.
Perfect to this day.

I remember it taking me over 3 hours to complete that optional under world challenge. It was I believe 100 levels.
Onimusha to PS4 and Switch! I also wish we got to play the PSone version.
Demon Siege to this day is still one of my favorite games
Great Onimusha History🗡🇯🇵🗾🗻⛩……
I wish they would rerelease Onimusha Blade Warriors. It's my favorite.

"it's something that will go on and on and on"

It didn't.

4 years later... onimusha 1 remastered. THough not a hd collection but it is a start.

How tf did that influence wind waker? Wtf are you talking about?
Do they think they invented side quests or something? Lol

John Schenzen
"monotonically"
~ monotonous
"it makes for not really an emotional experience, but a dramatic one"
that sounds awful.
Like watching Titanic in German.
