G4 Icons Episode #64: Frank Miller

This isn't Icons. It's E! channel level dumb shit pop culture retrospective.
G4 Icons Episode #54: Mark Cuban
zhlédnutí 8KPřed 10 lety
An episode that showed Icons days were numbered before it was revamped into the unfortunate new focus that would come in season 5

13:50 They give you life insurances. 😂
11:42 🤣
I googled G4 Icons Sid Meier to find out if that cool video on my Civilization IV Behind the Scenes DVD was available online. Apparently, G4 is a CZcams channel. How did I not know this until now?
This episode used to upset me as a kid and I owned a ps2
Bizarre goof near the end about the release problems of Shenmue II and the alleged japanese only Xbox version...
This makes me depressed. Thinking back to when games were fun and not identity politics. I was once proud to say i was a gamer
Anyone else miss this epic games?
May E3 rest in peace 1995-2023 we’ll always remember you
Who else is here because of the Doom the dark ages trailer and who’s ready
thank you for archiving icons. i love this series
Back when Electronic Arts was once a respected game developer/publisher and the game they made are worth playing. Sadly nowadays they are exact opposite...
I was 9 or 10 when I first watched this. Along with the other icon episodes honestly these were so cool to learn about
This proves Bobby Cottick was a video game industry hitman. He basicly crushed Atari, drove Activision into the ground and now Blizzard.
I think that if Capcom went and made 16 bit versions on megaman 1 thru 6 for the snes, it would have been big.
Spyro was good games.
I don’t think I’ve been or ever will be blown away by a console game more than the experience of playing Halo on Xbox for the first time! WOW what a great time to be alive.
I love this episode. I watched it back in like 2002. I loved G4 until about 2006 when all my favorite shows were taking off the network.
2024 and I'm still happy I chose Dreamcast over PlayStation
I didnt like et intil 10 15 yrs ago when i learned how to play it along with Indiana jones. There a cple of games you had to read the instruction book 4 and almost no one did lol
Holy shit this was before CoD released.
I'm gonna be honest. I love Halo but it's sorta depressing they went from trying different things to exclusively making 1 game. After Halo 1 came out they stopped making any other game besides Halo. It's the George Lucas effect. I guess Destiny isn't too similar tho
Which is why after Halo 3, they wanted to become independent. They didn’t even want a Halo 2.
I just came here after it's been announced that E3 has been discontinued. May they RIP! 😔🙏🕊
One name above the rest for me: K I R K H O P E
The Days of G4 on Direct TV when I was in High School in the Mid 2000's.
7:02 feels weird seeing him here, for some reason
This is what got me into the King of Fighters franchise, honestly.
I like arcades, I don't see them all the time.
A massive science project is canceled and one of it's potential workers turns around and contributes to American cultural hegemony. lol the state department couldnt have planned it better themselves.
i love this series. thanks for posting and keeping this available
#GirlPower #WomensHistoryMonth
None of that has anything to do with video games
Happy Women's History Month ♀️ from G4 Icons 🎮
None of that had anything to do with video games
So he is the real life Sheldon Cooper.
13:30 i like how this interview spoils FF7 for anyone who hasn't played it yet
The game out in 1997, its already all over the internet.
Perfect to this day.
lol that closing ad about Adam Sessler did NOT age well. NO ONE wants to be him these days.
Oh I see Mr Talarico. His mother must be very very proud. But not as proud as Uematsu's mother who actually has REASON to be proud.
7:44 this gives Bob Chipman PTSD
Mega Man-uary doesn't end on January. Keep fighting for everlasting peace it don't come cheap Like then, show no signs slowing
"Everybody loves Megaman." That is, until Capcom threw the Blue Bomber under the bus in favor of giving their "poster boy" title to Ryū (and this is coming from a decades-long Street Fighter fanatic)
Space invaders and pac man are two of my favorite classic arcade video games.
The fact that Seiichi Ishii`s name was left out of VF is a damn shame. But I guess being that the main designer for VF1, Ishii, migrated over to Namco to make Tekken 1, then left after Tekken 2...this guy is the real godfather of 3D fighting games. Not to take anything away from Suzuki but no one ever mentions Ishii.
OOT: Best Zelda title of all time. I'm sure sales of all the older titles picked up because of this one, cause I sure wanted to go back thoroughly finish my Link To The Past on SNES and Link's Awakening on Gameboy after beating OOT on N64.
Shigeru Miyamoto was arguably the Walt Disney of gaming and comparable to Hayao Miyazaki.
Jesus christ enough of the saxophone. That's as condescending as any chauvinism discussed in the video.
Blue Scuti brought me here.
Tom Ham has no clue wtf he's talking about lol
I remember wanting to always wanting to go to E3 back in the day. I first heard about it during the PS days when I got one in '96; back then, I wanted to make games so bad and even wrote up many game ideas back then. I remember getting my first PSM issue in '97, and subscribing to it and getting their E3 issue, and eas just totally floored. Sucks that its no longer around, especially since I live in LA now 😔
Its depressing a bit seeing these so long later knowing companies like Ubisoft and EA are just corporate shells now with meager passion
Very true.. hopefully the Splinter Cell remake in development now will end up being good!
@@cjware316 surprised they can do anything extra with all the ac in the pipeline
Isn't "T" the PG-13 equivalent? EC would be G, K to A or E would be PG, T would be PG-13, M would be R, and AO would be NC-17.
Love this yellow round boi and lady
